The permitting process was long and did not go smoothly. I had to call several times to correct mistakes and follow up. The first installation crew was not professional, however the second one was extremely my good. Ask for Jay!

I had a really great experience with semper
we spoke with a couple companies prior to talking with Semper Solaris. Jessica was so very informative and did not push us at (which I had pushy sales people...so this was important for me). We would recommend them to anyone wanting solar or roof. Thank you jessica for your help.

Most unprofessional company I've worked with. They ask for your money first with every single situation. They will take your "deposit" and then never communicate back with you for several weeks. They sent someone to my house without telling me ahead of time, and refused to return my deposit to me even though no work was done after I discontinued working with them. These people are glorified con-artists, particularly Julia and Robert.

    DO NOT WORK WITH THEM.

The communication with the office was great also on the day of the install the team did an awesome job and although I was not able to answer the call they got a hold of my wife and ran the process of everything that they did down to her I'm still waiting for the job to be completed due to an unexpected issue when they were installing whoever designed the roof install did not realize or considerthere was a vent in the place so one panel is left to be installed not a big deal dsd cfto me but we'll see how this ends. I'm sure it will be fine

Bill LaCommre was our sales person and remained as our point of contact through the entire project. We installed solar, batteries, HVAC, and a roof with Semper Solaris! The final product is great, and Bill was very responsive to our needs!

If you are considering using Semper Solaris for your solar panel or backup battery system, don’t; don’t walk away from this company, run. I don’t think I have come across a worst company to work with in my entire life and I am 73 years old. It hurts me to even give them one star. I already have solar panels on my roof and I wanted to get a battery storage system. While sitting down with the sales representative, I made it very clear that I only wanted one Tesla Powerwall, I only wanted enough back up power to power my refrigerator and other essential systems as well as being able to charge my electric car if the grid goes down.
I was told that it would be a few months, two or three, before they could start on the project as they were backed up with work. I agreed to that thinking it was a reasonable amount of time. Little did I know it would take over a year to finish the project from the date I signed the contract. I should have suspected problems when three different people came out three different times to take a picture of my breaker box for their engineering team. I suspected these departments don’t talk to one another, well they don’t.
The circuit breaker suppling power to my car is 50 amps. When the first, yes first, installation team came out to do the work they informed me that they weren’t allowed to back up a 50 amp circuit breaker. This disturbed me as I specially told the sales representative that one of the main reasons for wanting the Powerwall was to be able to charge my car. The installation team tried to talk me into getting a second Powerwall which would have solved the problem; I had told the sales representative I did not want a second one before signing the contract. After discussions with the sales representative over the course of several weeks in which I was given three different reasons why it couldn’t be done, it turned out to not be an issue. All I had to finally do is sign a waiver stating I understood that the Powerwall could not support charging my car. You would think that after taking three different pictures of my breaker box, someone would have noticed this ahead of time. I pointed out that my car normally draws 40 amps when charging but I can dial down the charge rate from within the car if I need to, in other words, I could use the Powerwall to charge my car, all I had to do is dial down the charge rate. To me this clearly indicates they do not fully understand the product they are selling.
I mentioned a first installation team, even without the 50 amp circuit breaker issue I was told the project would take two days including a city inspector to come out to sign off on the project. They weren’t close to finishing the installation after two days and then it turned out they did it wrong. A month or two latter they sent out a second team to redo the work and again I was told it was a two day project which turned out not to be true. When they finally completed the installation and the city inspector came out, it failed four separate items, not to mention the stucco damage done by the first installation team which had yet to be corrected. I have a lot more to say but my character limit was exceeded.

Terrible experience overall, was not the most competitive bid to start with, but decided to go with them anyways and then regretted it every step of the way afterwards. They asked for way more money to complete the project than originally bid. Didn't meet any of the timelines or commitments (months and months and months of delay). Refused to send me or show me the plans that were submitted to the county until I escalated or followed-up with the county myself. Did nothing to try and jointly problem solve with me. Completely unreasonable to work with. Definitely would not recommend.

Planning and installation were fast and efficient. BUT my reason for getting solar was that I have ordered an all electric car, so the plan was always to have an EV outlet. Semper STILL have not returned to fit that, 2 months after the initial installation and when I call them I get a total run around ("needed to reapply for a permit" or "job was wrongly marked as having been completed"). Which excuse is it? And now they are saying another 2-4 weeks. A friend who used a different company had her solar and EV outlet all installed together. Why couldn't Semper do that, too?

Josh from Semper Solaris was very professional and through. Not only did he resolve our problem but he stayed in touch days after to ensure the resolution was complete.

I was figured it was about time I got solar as I am planning on an electric vehicle. I contacted a couple of vendors to get pricing, but it was kind of confusing. Then I met Bill LaCommare with Semper Solaris and he was the consummate pro. He was clear with the pricing, clear with how the installation was going to work, and clear that I needed to get moving because NEM 3.0 was lingering. There were some minor issues post installation, but all is good now.

Bill LaCommare was the sales representative that assisted us in planning the design and installation of the battery and solar project. He was very helpful and always responded in a timely manner. We are so pleased to have had him and Semper Solaris provide us with the fine solar system that is now providing us with power without pain!

What a NIGHTMARE! Here's what happened: I signed a solar contract in May of 2020. The install date was Dec10&11, 2020. The install crew went up on the roof and discovered that the plans were based on someone else's roof layout, not mine, so they couldn't install. They came back Christmas Eve to do the install. When they left I noticed some things installed on my garage wall were bent but they said they'd fix it so I thought all was fine. I waited for the city inspection but never heard back from Semper Solaris for months.

In March 2021 I suddenly started getting emails from them to sign a new plan for installing solar. I was confused because I already had solar installed months ago. I contacted my sales rep, Micro Batistella, and found out that they needed to install more panels. The system wasn't producing as much power as they expected. (That's because the original plans were made for a North/South facing roof and mine is East/West) Of course, this was delaying the inspection. 4 more panels weren't installed until May 2021 (a whole year after I signed the contract and I was paying full PG&E bills as well as the solar loan fishing this time). I sent a formal complaint via certified mail to the owner of the company in Southern California. Apparently the owner doesn't even care about they're poor customer service because the problems continued.

2 months later the inverter broke and had to be replaced..I was still waiting for the inspection too. There were 3 attempts for inspection. We kept failing because new permits were never pulled for the correct design layout for our roof and the plans didn't match what was installed on our house. The company never fixed the known issues and kept scheduling inspections that failed because Semper Solaris never fixed the paperwork. The only reason we passed is because I called the Semper Solaris crewman, that was going to be at the inspection, personally and asked him to make sure the paperwork got fixed. By this time I was on a first name based with all the Semper Solaris crewmen because they came to my house so many times. Oh yeah, the Tesla battery stopped working too because of some electrical programming issue that had to be corrected.

We Finally passed the city inspection December 2021 and the SGIP PG&E inspection January 2022! Just short of 2 years from when I signed the contract. Semper Solaris dropped the ball at every turn and not even the owner of the company cares. They've done nothing to make this right. No discount. No compensation for all the days I had to take off of work. Nothing.

I wish I never heard of Semper Solaris! I cannot over emphasize all the reasons why you should look for any other company to install your solar system!

3/2022 UPDATE: Semper Solaris reached out to me after I posted my review claiming a desire to make things right. I called them back but had to leave a message. That was about a month ago. There's been no response from them. Again.

The roofing crew did a great job. They were prompt, clean and professional. The project manager, Max, was very responsive and kept me informed throughout the process.

Terrible customer support and responsiveness, avoid this company!! They seem to only be good at selling solar system but terrible when it comes to maintenance. Roofing manager is very unprofessional and never responds to call or text messages, it takes weeks to get scheduled for service, even when it is urgent (leaky roof, etc). I’m now having to wait over 5 weeks for my panels to be re-installed, completely unacceptable.

This company was absolutely amazing in guiding me through the process of putting Solar into our home. The team leads, Jesse on the solar side and Ron on the battery installation were amazing. Aria guided us through the steps and made everything as convenient as possible for us. I'd Highly, Highly recommend this company!
