I had a very frustrating experience with this company due to their excessive and unfair billing practices. One particularly troubling instance was when I was charged for 3.5 hours of labor, despite the technician only being on-site for 55 minutes. To make matters worse, they count every minute the technician spends on-site, including time spent on small talk, at a rate of $3.77 per minute.

Additionally, I discovered they charge for transportation time to my location without prior notice, inflating the labor costs significantly. In another case, I was billed for a technician to be present during a visit where they were not even needed, and I was charged again for adjustments that were never performed—only testing and recording were done.

Despite providing clear evidence, including security footage, and making multiple attempts to resolve the matter fairly, the company has been unresponsive and continues to justify their excessive charges with vague claims about being a union company.

I strongly advise anyone considering this company to exercise caution. Be prepared for unexpected charges and a lack of transparency in their billing practices.

Robert is knowledge, friendly and professional. He was on time for our appointments. He listened to all of my concerns. He and his team replaced my furnace, AC and thermostat. It was a big 8 hour job and everything went perfectly without a glitch. They worked continuously and methodically. They cleaned everything up when they left. Nothing for me to clean up. Now I have a beautiful new system that works perfectly. They have been serving our community for decades and it shows. Definitely recommend them.

The Sears crew did an awesome job on refacing my kitchen cabinets. Just beautiful cabinets now and loving it! Job well done!

I hired them and they took 4 months to finish the job. I found mistakes. I contacted 5 different managers with no response. After three months of waiting and no progress on repairing their mistake I hired someone else to fix it. DO NOT HIRE THEM. Absolute trash of a company.

Never Ever go for Sears Home Improvement. Very poor service. Done kitchen remodeling through Sears Home Improvement - San Jose and even after I paid full amount I am yet to receive my Kitchen Permit and work is not yet finished too. Its more then a year now. Got few numbers but everytime hear the same message that all agents are busy leave a message and then mailbox is full and got disconnected. Thinking of taking legal advice on how to take action against them. Strongly discourage people to go for Sear improvement.

Do not trust Sears to support you after the remodel. They've had to come back out 3 times to fix parts of the remodel. This last time they never showed up.

DO NOT use Sears for any home remodeling. Google other comments about their customer service and you'll understand why using them is a mistake. I wish I had read those reviews before trusting Sears with something as important as our kitchen.

Don't say you haven't been warned.

I just don't have words enough to say how very strongly I DO NOT recommend Sears Home Improvement for any project. We are in the midst of a very large project (kitchen, bathroom, new flooring, etc.), and the complete lack of communication, customer service, and professionalism continues to astound me on a daily basis. :-(

We buy all our appliances from Sears, but we will never use them for home improvement projects. We decided to have Sears install our new shower. The sales rep showed up on 3/10 and we placed our order, he estimated an install date of mid May and told us it would take about 3 days. Mid-May came and went without a call from Sears, so we called the sales rep and found out he was no longer with Sears. Sears finally sent a team of very subpar sub-contractors on 6/13, who removed the old shower and sheet rock, exposing the beams and pipes. There was black all over the wood and pipes, and my husband asked the contractor if we should be concerned about the black "dirt". The contractor didn't answer and made like there was no problem. This was left exposed for 3 days until the City Inspector arrived to tell us it was mold and we had to get it cleaned up before they could proceed. Being that it was a Friday, we could not get anyone to clean the mold until Monday, which was a full week with mold exposure. The mold was cleaned up by Tuesday evening and the City Inspector came Wednesday morning, but Sears was not intending on sending anyone to finish the project until the following Tuesday. My husband hit the roof and made such a stink that they sent a new team of contractors. This new team really saved the day for us. The Sears shower parts had either been measured incorrectly or cut incorrectly because they were too long. The 2nd team cut the product to fit our shower. So this whole project which should have taken 3 days took 18 days, and only thanks to the 2nd team of contractors, it turned out good.

Sears Heating and Air Conditioning beat the competition on price. They specialized in the Carrier Brand which is what we wanted. The order was processed quickly, and it was installed quickly to our satisfaction. I thought Sears went out of business but it turned out only the Retail Sears closed down.

Very happy with our kitchen renovation. I appreciated the complimentary consultation and estimate in my home with samples provided. The project manager kept in good communication with me. My special request was accommodated. The work was done timely. Most importantly, the kitchen looks fantastic and gives me so much pleasure after a decade of living with our late '70s kitchen.
