Sal contacted me back within 2 minutes of my request on Yelp and answered my phone call on a Sunday! Wow. Then he came by to my house to fix things within 30 minutes. Super knowledgeable, quickly diagnosed the problem and knew exactly how to fix a blown fuse. He had the parts and had us going 5-10 minutes. Would definitely have him back when we need him again in the future!

Cost Less is extremely professional, friendly efficient, knows how to diagnose a problem and fix it the same day and has reasonable pricing. I would highly recommend them for any of your heating or air-conditioning repairs. I can’t say enough about how pleased, I am with the work they do. They are definitely our repair service for any future needs.

We hadn’t had our HVAC ducts cleaned since it was installed 2021. Also the dryer vent was due too. For some wonderful reason we’re lucky because we called Cost Less. We spoke with Sal, the owner, and immediately had a good feeling..family owned, honest, accommodating and very professional. Boy, were we right. Sal and his son are true blue…the kind of people you want to entrust your home to. This is really coming from the heart because they went beyond our expectations and we have found a company who we will call back for any HVAC needs. That is a comfortable position to be in! They did not leave until they felt comfortable too!

Called early Saturday morning about our heater that wasn't working properly, and someone was out by 10 am. They assessed what might be wrong, gave my husband a full walk-through of the system so he could trouble-shoot (and fix himself, if he so desired) if the problem happened again, made a couple tweaks, and voilà! Problem solved, and heater has been working like a charm ever since. Fee was very reasonable and at no point did we feel pressure for a big expensive repair; just an honest assessment and a solution. Excellent service.

I discovered Sal through Yelp reviews. He was very knowledgeable and accommodating. On the day of installation, he kept me updated multiple times with his team's ETA. When his team arrived, they were very professional, respecting our home by laying out tarps and wearing shoe covers. The job involved replacing the wall furnace and installing a new thermostat, which his team completed in an hour. They cleaned up immediately after finishing, leaving no trace of their work.

They also walked us through basic instructions and offered helpful suggestions. We are extremely satisfied to have the heat restored and appreciate the excellent service from Sal and his team.

Sal from Cost Less Heating & Cooling came out and checked my heater, AC, circulation, and vents. He was thorough, professional, and honest. After going through everything, he told me I didn’t need any repairs at all—and didn’t charge me a single dime.

That kind of integrity is rare these days. No upselling, no pressure, just straight honesty. I highly recommend Sal and Cost Less Heating & Cooling and will definitely call them again.

Costco needs to maintain a great value experience and so there is no need to negotiate on the pricing. A Plus quoted $3500 more for the heat pump compared to other Lennox proposals from two licensed installers with the same model and ton. Not happy with the quote. Also A Plus quotes are different based on the sales person as my friend got a similar quote with $2000 cheaper than mine. So it looks like there is no fair pricing with their proposal and no Costco advantage.

Installation and service is prompt and flawless. The team installed the split unit in all rooms within 48 hours and even provided immediate service when a power surge caused the heat pump to go kaput. Jane and her team are prompt and provide excellent service. Strongly recommend if you plan to get new units installed.

This year, my parents needed to replace their HVAC. Because I had good experience with A Plus Heating & Air Conditioning in the past, we hired them via Costco again. The communications and services were the same quality as what I experienced last year with my own home. The house added two additional rooms years ago, and because they are far from the system, the rooms didn’t get good air flow. Hiero suggested replacing the old systems first before testing out if new system could improve air flow issue. If not, he suggested we could install mini splits to provide adequate air flow for the two rooms. This is something we didn’t know before so we appreciated his insights and experienced recommendations.

One thing I also want to mention is that while transporting AC to the backyard, because there were many small rocks on the floor, the AC got small scratches on the surface. When I mentioned it to the technician, I didn’t want to install a new system that already has scratches. Without hesitation, the office brought in another new system for replacement. I was very happy to see that the company holds its high standard to satisfy customers without convincing me to accept a system with minor blemishes.

Although the process took longer than expected—about six months due to the company upgrading to a better unit—they were transparent throughout the delay. I had originally signed a contract that included 0% financing, and even though there was a significant gap before installation, the company still honored that agreement after a follow-up conversation. I truly appreciated their integrity in standing by their word.

Once installation began, the crew was professional, respectful, and hardworking. They took great care to keep my home clean, leaving no dust or debris behind. The team worked long hours and moved quickly to complete the project without cutting corners. I also requested that some exposed electrical cords be covered and certain coverings repainted, and they returned without hesitation to make sure those finishing touches were done properly.

The final inspection by the city went smoothly, and the inspector even commented that the company did an excellent job. A special shoutout to Nasser Pineda, the sales manager—he was knowledgeable, responsive, and a pleasure to work with from start to finish.

A-Plus replaced our 25 year old furnace and A/C unit with a new more efficient Lennox unit. They also replaced our ductwork as certain rooms in our house weren’t getting sufficient air flow. They were very knowledgeable and sized our system accordingly. They also resized the intake to improve the flow. The cost of unit and installation was very reasonable compared to a 3rd party through Home Depot. Almost 2/3 the cost!! Hopefully, this new system will last us another 25 years. A+

Through Costco/APlus Heating & Air, I had my entire furnace and condenser swapped out to an energy efficient Lennox heat pump. Entire process from proposal, installation, and finally city permitting, went smoothly. Price was also better than other HVAC companies. Thanks Brenden for mentioning city of SJ and fed tax credits (along with usual Costco shop card credits for using a CITI card) to lower overall cost even more.

We met Victor when he responded (on a Sunday) to our furnace issue during the Thanksgiving weekend. He got our furnace back on that day. We greatly appreciated his responsiveness and expertise to restore our furnace operation on that cold weekend. Our confidence in Upgrade Home Services (UHS)led to our contracting them to replace our old HVAC system with a new Amana heat pump system. UHS replaced our gas furnace and AC unit on time and on schedule. Unfortunately, we had to call Victor the next day to repair a wiring issue that temporarily halted our system's operation. The good news is that Victor quickly responded to our call that day and repaired the wiring issue. Overall, we rate UHS five stars for Victor's responsiveness and expertise.

The only unfavorable comment I have on UHS is their team of installation technicians are not very responsive to any questions during any phase (demo, prep, installation and test) of the installation project. Whenever I hire a contractor to work on my house, I make it a habit to understand what the contractor plans to do before they do it, so that there are no surprises and that I'm okay with any their modifications to my home.

However, if you are the type of homeowner that's hand off and is comfortable to let the contractor work on your home without questions or desire to observe; this is probably not an issue for you. But if you are like me, and wants to know the details of what the contractor's plans for your home project; or may want them to answer questions prior to a major installation phase, you may want to address this with Victor prior to contracting them for any home projects.

I have use Victor for a couple times. His service is impeccable. My water heater has not been maintained so has a lot issues with hot water. Victor gives a honest opinion and educates me how to maintain my water heater. He is a great guy to trust.

I just had Victor and his team help me for the third time. They are fantastic. I called for help on. Sunday. He called me back immediately and tried to resolve the problem on the phone. When that didn’t work, he was here on Monday and quickly diagnosed the issue and had the system working again. He and his team are competent, responsive, professional, and very easy to work with.
