Dominic was on time, professional and very honest. Easy to book an appointment with Oscar, and they had same day appointments! They worked around my busy schedule and Dominic fixed my AC (which wasn’t blowing cold air) within an hour. I would 10/10 recommend and will be using this business moving forward!

They helped us with a leak in our AC system, and sold us on their VIP maintenance package, claiming that they would see us within 48 hours of a request. Their work was shoddy and the leak started again less than three weeks after service, but by the time we reached out for help JJ Heating went out of business. They sold us a meaningless VIP package and did bad work. They are simply not responding to phone calls or emails and we only know they went out of business because of reviews on Yelp. Terrible experience.

Decent pricing and a neighbor recommendations lead me to contact them. Poor communication and quality issues. An access door was cut in the sidr of my house/stucco so I and they could have better access to my crawl space. Rather than measure twice, cut once, they cut the hole too big which caused them to patch the stucco. They also had to order a smaller access door due to their error. The stucco patch is ugly and now I need to repaint the stucco. This was not planned and was bad on them. The moisture barrier installed in the crawl space was sloppy, but was corrected after I said something. They were supposed to come back to finish other insulation and no showed. Their office is not returning calls, Alan (Project Manager) phone is now disconnected. Would not recommend using them

    DO NOT USE THEM.
They will respond to your "first" call for the business and look very professional and all. But they will NEVER take or respond to your second call if you have an issue with their service.

We got their service, fairly quick and clean. We were replacing the second floor unit which was on the further end in our shed. In order to pull them out, they had to either rest the further unit on top of our new unit or turn off the new unit, reset them. Second option will not risk to damage the fan on the other unit so we paid extra $650 for "turning off" and "resetting the unit".

Summer was mild, we didnt use AC much then when it got hot, we turned on the AC , both floors were not working. It was blowing warm air. I called them about 30 times, left emails, voice mails, my husband did the same. Nothing.

We had to suffer through the heat and finally called our old company. It turned out, our "reset" fan was exhausted (not sure if it was from the reset or not) and second floor (which we used this service to replace) they did not tell us there were massive leaks. We found a hole on the pipe, looked like someone drilled to test and never patched it.

I am not saying they did it, but just be professional and return the call of your customers. It cant be "missed calls" or " we didnt know" when you received this many times of calls and written evidences. It was just very irresponsible and letting myself who rarely gives negative reviews to write this much. We are very disappointed so hopefully next customers wont be like us.

Been a terrible experience with this company. I had a heat pump installed in February of this year by them. The permit is still outstanding! The city has sent numerous requests asking for more information. Even though the company gets the same notice from the city, I would share the email from the city with Oscar in their office. Several times, Oscar would reply, that he will work on it "today". One to two months later, the city says nothing has been done since their emails. I get no response from the install manager either. Yesterday, I spoke with Steve, who claims to be a manager there and he was supposed to get back to me yesterday afternoon. NOTHING.

The above are JUST A FEW of the problems I've had with them!
If you have nothing to do, but make many many phone calls, and don't mind the headaches, then hire this company. if you want a smooth install, and don't like headaches, go some where else.

They leave me no option but to get a lawyer.

We purchased a new furnace from Service Champions last year. They did a super job and all permits and inspections were completed. They offered a deal for check-up of our heating and air conditioner. Of course the furnace was perfect, but our 18 year old AC needed repair. We joined their Member Value Plan which will give us free service calls, and we received discounts on the repair. In addition to HVAC they also do electrical and plumbing. I highly recommend them.

My home inspection found a potential issue with my furnace. Service Champions schedule someone to come out the next day. The tech did a thorough review, checked in with experts and determined there was no issue. Everyone I dealt with was friendly, helpful and very professional.

Cesar completed the annual check up on my HVAC unit today. He was friendly, professional, and very thorough. Before leaving he asked if there was anything else he could help me with. I alway appreciate the techs from Service Champions.

Technician from Service Champions was very thorough in checking and explaining the issues affecting my gas furnace.

The tech who came out did a fantastic job of straightening out my air conditioning system which was non-functional. He found the problem, addressed it, followed up by cleaning all of the ducts and fins on the outdoor condenser and washed them thoroughly.

I’m a retired engineer and watched him and asked questions about what he was doing as he worked on different parts of the system and he was very accommodating.

He clearly explained the parts, what they do, and how they work in the system.

Very pleasant experience and the air conditioning system is like an ice machine now. Awesome!!

Very good work and knowledgeable technicians!! I highly recommend them!!

I had no idea that finding a “trustworthy” HVAC company would be so difficult and stressful. After 3 different companies came out and gave me different estimates, I decided to go with the estimate from Service Champions. Steve came out & gave me the most detailed and thorough explanation that actually made sense. He was very knowledgeable and replaced the thermostat. They’ll be coming out again to replace the txv next. I’ll give an update once that’s done. If they do a good job again I’ll be a returning customer. I’ve already signed up for the annual maintenance.

Service Technician was polite, treated my home with respect by making sure each time he went outside and returned, he made sure his feet were covered. he explained what he did and asked if I had a filter to replace the old one. He also asked if there was anything else he could do for me.

No fluff from me. Fantastic service, professional, reliable, and thorough. Everyone that I have been in contact with has given a five star experience. Max was my technician today and a I appreciate him for going above and beyond!

The staff were very professional and the customer service attitude was also very good. I repaired my water heater at home. The whole process was very enjoyable!

    Where do I even begin?

Service Champions has absolutely deplorable business practices and I will never recommend them to anyone.

My issue started with my tenants reporting the AC not working and blowing hot air. After some googling common causes and having the tenants try a few troubleshooting steps such as changing the air filter, making sure no objects were obstructing the condenser that didn’t work, I decided to find an HVAC company to help.

My home is located in the Bay Area and I googled HVAC repair and saw that Service Champions completely stood out from the crowd with positive reviews. Most times, I take the time to read reviews, google BBB complaints, Reddit complaints but just decided to go off of the overwhelmingly positive reviews they’ve received. I also usually get 3 quotes from different companies but I needed to get the AC working quickly for my tenants.

I called Service Champions and was greeted by a friendly customer service rep. They were able to arrange a technician to come out the next day. Upon booking the appointment, I was upsold a package for HVAC cleanings which I declined. The upsell should have been the first red flag.

Next morning, the technician comes out and assesses the problem. Calls me, is very friendly and tells me that I have a broken “dual voltage stabilizer” that was probably fried due to insects/pests/heat. Him calling this part a “dual voltage stabilizer” should have been my 2nd red flag. He quotes me a price to fix the unit at $674 which seemed high. He then stated that I could get a $74 discount if I enrolled in the warranty program. Another upsell, just like when I first contacted Service Champions. Hesitantly, I agreed verbally over the phone. Again, wanting to make sure my tenants got AC quick without fuss as it’s summertime and warming up.

After the job was done and the invoice was emailed to me is when things really started to derail. The invoice had a charge of $215 for the warranty, a charge of $450 for the “dual voltage stabilizer” and a $74 discount for enrolling in this warranty. The total came to about $600. No mention of hourly labor costs.

I noticed in the picture the technician sent along with the invoice there was a capacitor that was replaced on the unit.

Doing a little googling, I see that HVAC capacitors run around $50. I googled “dual voltage stabilizer” and did not find any results. They don’t exist. Strange.

Feeling completely taken for, I called Service Champions to have the charges adjusted. The front line customer rep said he couldn’t do anything and to call the technician. I said “No, technicians don’t handle billing questions” and asked to be escalated to a manager. I was greeted by a polite female “manager” in which I explained that I was way overcharged and misled on the invoicing. I told her the technician changed out a cheap capacitor and spent around 2 hours on the job, what’s the parts and labor cost? She couldn’t give me a straight answer. She said they “weren’t a parts company” and that the parts price includes technicians labor, warranty, etc which is so intentionally vague and misleading. It’s common practice to have a competitive price for the part and a competitive hourly labor charge.

After much back and forth, and telling her I’d be disputing the charge on my credit card and notifying the BBB she relented and said she could return $56 on parts/labor and $215 for the warranty program which brought my total to around $329. While still a little high for the type of work done, it was more reasonable and a compromise.

I’m just absolutely astounded that companies can get away with stunts like this.

I strongly urge you to avoid this HVAC company and any companies that can’t provide their parts and labor cost upfront without upselling you to death.

I appreciate service champions for proactively reaching out to me and offering the quote beforehand. The service rep did an excellent job of reviewing all the things in my home, keeping me up to date and sent me a detailed report with pictures. He also talked about monthly payment plans for further cost savings. Overall super duper happy with service champions. I highly recommend them for home service needs.

I had the pleasure of working with the team of Patrick, Jose, and Aaron for my sewer line. They are extremely hard working, paid attention to detail, and were very respectful in my home. Service Champions is a company I trust! Thanks for a great experience.
