I had an outstanding experience with Modern Air Comfort and Air. Armando replaced a 22-year-old air conditioning unit as well as a nearly 40-year-old furnace and ductwork. From start to finish, he demonstrated professionalism, friendliness, and exceptional knowledge.

The workmanship was excellent, and it is clear that Armando is committed to delivering quality results. My home is already noticeably more comfortable and efficient.

Called late afternoon, and was able to have our AC serviced and repaired by early evening. Receptionist was friendly and informative, technician was friendly and also informed us of our options. Would highly recommend to friends and family

Recently, I hired Staycool Airflow A/C & Heating (Contractor Lic. No 1077331) to fix an Air Conditioning unit which was malfunctioning at my property. I am the owner of the property and I have long term tenants renting the property from me.

After the technician inspected the unit, I was provided with 3 options for repair. The first for $950 (which they said might fix the problem, but they could not guarantee it), the second for $5,050, and the last for approximately $4,050.

I was also asked to pay $195 for the inspection, instead of the initial agreed price of $125. I refused and paid what we had agreed to.

The second A/C unit at the property was functioning just fine when the technicians arrived for the inspection. As soon as they left, my tenants noticed that the second unit was also not working suddenly. I contacted Staycool immediately, and Mr. Powers attempted to convince me that this must be a terrible coincidence, since “the technicians had not touched the other unit at all. They didn’t even go to that part of the house!” I later realized that Mr. Powers was pretending that someone else had been to the property, even though he was the one who was there with another person. He even told me that he would check with the technician and call me back, even though he was there in person!

After their visit, I was able to find another A/C repairman who was able to visit the house late that evening, fix both units in a matter of 15 minutes, and asked me to pay $150 for his service. I asked the same repairman about the cause of the problem for both units, and he said “they removed the wires that control the outside unit. They did the same thing to both units.”

The temperature in the La Quinta area was about 95-100 degrees on May 31, 2022. By refusing to fix the first unit, and disconnecting the second unit intentionally and refusing to remedy the situation after I brought it to Mr. Powers’ attention, Mr. Powers and his staff put the lives of my tenants at risk! Staycool’s refusal to fix the problem with the first unit, and disconnecting the wires for both units, only made things worse, much much worse. Cutting off the working A/C in 100 degree weather was like a death sentence for my tenants.

This case has been referred to the California Board of Contractors, the Surety company for StayCool and also their insurance company. Staycool has refused to respond to any of these statements, because they know everything above is the true.

P.S. Notice how they are responding to all the "positive" reviews immediately but haven't responded to my review. It's because they know this is 100% accurate and they have nothing to say. Here is a suggestion: How about start by apologizing?

David along with Vic, and Johnny were very fast in completing the installation of our new AC and Heating unit (2 full days) the whole team was amazing! David especially seemed very knowledgeable of the work he was doing, he explained everything we needed to know with a kind and respectful attitude, I don't think I have encountered a better service crew like this one! Brian the owner and his wife were fast to respond to any questions or concerns I had. I truly appreciate their hard work, and I will definitely be calling them back for any future projects :)

The technician Fernando did a wonderful job with the maintenance to our air conditioner! He was honest and very knowledgeable about his work! They are overall an honest and trustworthy company!

On July 3, 2021, I contacted Staycool late in the evening. Although it was the night before the 4th of July, Brian came and worked on my airconditioner. He got the unit to work but it was not an easy fix. My 17 year old unit was shot. I have heard horror stories of the cost of replacing an air conditioner, so I was happy my insurance covered the replacement. Brian installed a new unit within days after working with my insurance. One year later and to my surprise Staycool contacted me to schedule maintenance which didn’t cost anything. I was so happy with this service that in 2022, I had a 30 year old air conditioner and heating unit installed by Staycool in my second home. In April, 2023, my second air conditioner went out at my primary home. Once again Brian worked with my insurance company in obtaining a new one. He has gotten me the best prices and long term warranty for all the units. Believe me when I tell you, I shopped around and read comments on several Facebook community pages. I love the service, cost, and integrity of Staycool. Brian does excellent work. Did I mention his assistant? Well, Nicole is there to assist you and answer any questions you may have. She is pleasant and will quickly returns your call. This is an excellent and outstanding family owned business with integrity. My health and busy schedule prevented me from commenting about it sooner, but I am happy to do so. I’ve seen the Staycool van driving close to my community at which time I thought to myself, someone is in good hands. I have and will always recommend this business to others.

10 stars, best service in town! Fair pricing, prompt service, professional crew. A total replacement of my mom’s AC, ductwork, furnace, compressor, the whole works. Job was completed on time, job site cleaned up. Thank you to the crew who came out a sweated their days away to get the ac going for my mom. Thank you to the owners for making miracles happen and getting the AC equipment set up and delivered so quickly. You have made a world of difference!

My rooftop A/C was not producing cold air. Brian and his team did a great job in analyzing the issue. They refilled the refrigerant and replaced another parts. Initially the first technician didn’t carry enough of the refrigerant, but their team immediately dispatched another technician and with the owner Brian to come over. It was late afternoon already, but they continued to finish the job. Nicole is very responsive in helping the schedules. I really appreciate her. According to Brian, they are running their own business for 3 years. Himself has 13 years of experience. It is a great company. I am sure they will be very successful. Best wish to them. And again, thank you so much to them for solving my problems. I definitely recommend them to whoever needs a A/C service.

I called stay cool to replace my furnace a cool guy named Gio showed up and was in and out. He wasted no time, super professional, and funny dude and now my family and I have heat, thank you Gio! Stay cool is awesome highly recommended to everyone!
