I originally had gotten 8 estimates for exterior painting of our house in Belmont. CertaPro was not the cheapest, but what impressed me was the knowledge and professionalism of their estimator, Jose Madrigal. He even arranged for us to get sample photos of different color schemes from the colors that we chose.

The painting process itself went off perfectly with the crew coming out to pressure wash the house and then painting it. This was during a period when it was raining some days. The process took a little longer to complete because we had to wait for stretches of clear weather, but that was understandable.

Because we chose 3 different colors, the lead painter made sure to check with us through every step that the right color was being applied. He even went over a particular area around the window frame when I expressed concern that it looked too light. They even returned for a few touch-up areas afterwards.
It has been about 2 years since having our home painted and we are still marveling at how good it looks. We’ve gotten numerous compliments on the work and I’ve recommended CertaPro to several people. We would not hesitate to use this company again in the future should we have any painting needs.

We wanted to freshen up our house before listing it for sale. After getting quotes from four painting firms, we picked CertaPro for their thorough quote, warranty and price.

The exterior team came out first. They spent an incredible amount of time prepping and masking the house. Their attention to detail was amazing!. Our home looks brand new now!

A couple of days later, their interior team came out. They got the job done in a matter of hours. Once dried, I noticed that the team used a flat paint instead of eggshell by mistake. I called the office and they had painters out the next morning to fix the paint job. They apologized for the mistake and got it fixed very quickly. We've all heard the saying "mistakes happen - how you handle them is what matters". This was very true here. The team didn't try to pass the buck, didn't try to charge me for the fix or anything of the sort. They owned it, fixed it with exceptional professionalism.

Very professional: took the time to make an office visit; their team support environment was readily utilized to set up the taping of our room while mixing paint off site; "using the good paint;" were friendly and accessible - gave me ample opportunity to see the work en-route; gave us the remainder of the paint and took the time to label the container and accompany me to our basement; took care to put on footsies only while indoors; and the paint job was terrific. Well worth the $100 more than their competition, who didn't make a site visit and utilized Certa-pro-provided photos to make their estimate.

Unfortunately I am disappointed in the painting service. The crew that handled my project did not complete the work the first time to my satisfaction. The cut-in between colors was sloppy, the lines were not straight as a professional painter would do. One area was not completed the first time. I had to schedule a second appointment for the corrections to be done, which still are not quite to my expectations. It seems that they were in a big hurry to get the job done and not concerned about the fine details to appear as a professional looking job. I have been in construction for 40 years and have had experience with several painting contractors. My intentions were to fine a painting contractor that I could rely on to do professional work, as this will be one of my rental properties that will need painting maintenance in the future. At this point I am reluctant to call on CertaPro due to this experience, especially if I’m assigned to this same painting crew. I don’t expect absolute perfection but I do expect a professional looking job, which I don’t think is to much to ask as that’s what I am paying for.

I have the entire exterior of my home painted. Jose came for the consultation. I really appreciated how he help me identify resources that could give me a digital rendering of my home. He also gave me advice on fine-tuning the colors by requesting free samples from the paint store. I was able to select colors that look fantastic on my house. Furthermore Tony and his crew actually did the painting. They were super kind, professional, timely, efficient, clean and got the job done on time if not slightly early. I would absolutely recommend them and use their services again.

Certapro has been to our home at least 5 times over the past 10 years and has consistently done excellent work, whether it be power washing and putting wood preservative on our redwood deck to sanding, restraining and varnishing our mahogany front door. They always do a great job and send workers who respect our property and listen. They don't leave a mess. They also have a color consultant who has saved me time in trying to figure out the best color that will work well in our home.

This our second time working with Certa Pro and it was again great experience painting the exterior of our house. Crew was friendly and worked well. Will continue to use this company for our painting needs.

CertaPro business-like estimator with informed answers. Good paint job with all needed prep work, primer and follow-up. Price in line or slightly better than competitive bids from others. On time as agreed. Use CertaPro if you want quality; go elsewhere if you want cheap.

We have used CertaPro for our exterior paint work before and they did a good job this time as well. The workers did a good job spraying down the house and getting the house ready for paint. They did a good job painting. One thing that we'd prefer - is that the person responsible for communicating to clients - give us a good heads up as to what to expect for the 5 days that they were here. We had to ask more questions and figure it out instead. We had to make sure that the cars were out of the garage by a certain time etc., It would have been smoother if we knew ahead of time what we needed to do instead of waiting for the painters to tell us.

A number of people have stopped and asked who painted our house and we told them that we used Certa Pro and we were more than pleased with the completed project. The exterior of our home looks wonderful!

Everything was priced fairly and the job was completed on time, with extreme attention to detail. They offered color consultation and even pointed out structural damage that we were able to bring to the attention of our property management. Excellent workmanship!

We received a good estimate for our kitchen repaint job and knew this was a bigger job than I usually try, so we decided to try CertaPro. We have been very pleased with the outcome. They provided a professional color analyst to help in our selections. The foreman was very attentive to our questions and desires. The walls, ceiling, woodwork and cabinets were all painted and the job was done in about a week. The site was keep clean at the end of each day. We can highly recommend them.

CertaPro did a great job repainting then interiors of our new house. The initial quote was very clear and provided a breakdown of all the costs for additional elements for consideration (doors, baseboards, trims). I would recommend them to family and friends.

Overall, this company employs great workers who were on time everyday, reported to me (the owner of the house) before starting work, and always made sure to summarize what was completed each day. I want to give a shout out to Jose and his crew who were extremely respectful and very efficient. I had a whole house repaint that needed extensive prep work. With the weather permitting, Jose and his crew completed everything within 9 days!

The only thing I could think of that needs improvement would be the paint chip clean up.

We had water damage in part of our home, plus the interiors just needed and update. John from CertaPro gave us the most detailed and professional quote (with pictures!) of any company we ever dealt with, including the number of coats, where we needed primer, etc. Roman & Jose came out and spent 5 days in our home and did a great job. Roman helped me adjust a color to exactly how I wanted it and they were both very detail oriented and worked hard to get things done exactly how I wanted. I would certainly use them again.

I am pleased with CertaPro Painters of San Mateo for my exterior paint project. I received my quote quickly and the quote was competitive. The communication with the estimator and the office was efficient. They were very accommodating in my start date due to delay from my outside general contractor work. The production manager was prompt and helpful in answering my question before painting.
Once the project began, the crew was on time and finished the project as expected. The crew kept the job site clean and did a good job in the prep work before applying paints.
