Update: After writing this review I have since been contacted and this was resolved. Glad they did what they could to resolve it. They assured me that their lack of response was due to management being away and sick for sometime. Understandable, and now the assistant knows they can handle instances like this on their own if management is not available. Bit of trust restored and mistakes happen.

Original post: I hired Master Clean USA for a move-out cleaning to save time, reduce stress, and hopefully help secure my deposit back. The place was already pretty clean and while they did a good job on the bathroom, the rest of the house was poor and felt rushed and incomplete. The areas under, behind, and on top of the stove and refrigerator were left untouched, even though I specifically requested those spots to the cleaners on site and the rep on the phone, I was assured they’d be cleaned and that they were covered areas in the cleaning I purchased.

In addition the windows were only half done, with dirt left in the inner frames, and the baseboards—especially in corners and high-traffic areas—were poorly cleaned with easily visible dust and dirt still left behind.

The cleaners finished in less time than estimated, left early, and I was still charged at the higher end of the quoted range. When I came back to tip them for their work I saw this and unfortunately had to buy my own cleaning supplies afterward and re-clean these areas myself. I also documented everything with photos.

What made the situation so much worse was the lack of follow-up from the company. Despite contacting Master Clean three separate times and being promised a call back from management to resolve it, I never received one call. At this point 3.5 weeks after, I can’t recommend their work.

I have been working with Karens Kleaning for over five years now. The company is incredibly professional. They are effective, efficient and considerate adding the personal touch of a small local business. I would highly recommend them to anyone considering a cleaning company in the Santa Barbara area.

Karen has a wonderful staff who are efficient and thorough. Her business is responsive, and we are very satisfied with our service.

They were on their cellphones the entire time they were supposed to be cleaning. They mopped around things rather than moving them. They did not know to use different products on wood/marble/stainless. They left the trash outside of kitchen door instead of putting in the bins below. The house was still not clean after they left. VERY disappointed.

I hired them to do a deep cleaning on my 1 bedroom home while I was out of town. When I returned all I could see that got done was vacuuming. Nothing was wiped down or cleaned. Also, when I arrived home they were taking their cleaning things out to the car and had locked themselves out of my house. It was like a circus. I actually used to work for Karen's kleaning many years ago and no one had ever done anything like this before. My guess is that these people were quitting

We utilized Karen's Kleaning services for our move-out of our apartment and they did an amazing job. I've been using Karen's Kleaning for about 4 years (approximately 6 times per year)- they've always done a great job. I would definitely recommend their services. They arrive on time and work efficiently...our apartment always looks fantastic after they've been there...the bathrooms sparkle, the kitchen is thoroughly cleaned, the floors look fantastic, and they always make sure to clean the balcony which is extra nice as it gets quite dusty/dirty out there. Scheduling appointments has always been easy, and the staff is very nice and professional.

We have been using Karen's Kleaning for years and have never had an issue. I had worked with other cleaning services previously that often forgot to return my calls or emails, which drove me crazy. Karen's Kleaning always responds to my communications and they do all they can to accommodate our needs. The workers are thorough, and my house is sparkling clean every time they come. A lot of other cleaning services wanted to charge us more. We live in a very small house. Karen actually priced our service based on our square footage. In addition, we needed afternoon service due to my wife's work schedule. Karen and crew were most accommodating. Paula does and excellent job and hets along with our three dogs just fine! Great service for a great price!
