Appliance Repair reviews in Santa Clara, California

Rey came to my house to look at our washing machine, and to fix our freezer. He arrived within the appointment window, and was very thorough. I had my father at home to meet him while I was at work, and Rey called me several times as he completed his diagnostics. He was great! I was referred to this business by our appliance warranty call center.

Have a front load washer that needed a new gasket. Another company had failed in properly installing the gasket. De Anza Appliance solved the problem and even repaired another issue. Their tech was on time, professional, and a good mechanic. Was a pleasure and relief to have the washer working properly.

It can happen that a blown fuse is an indicator of a problem and not the problem itself. This was the case when Chris Krage, a technician with DeAnza Appliance found a blown thermal fuse in my Kenmore dishwasher. Chris found the blown fuse and replaced it — all within a half-hour — and had my dishwasher working again. However, two weeks later, the thermal fuse blew again. Chris returned to my place the day after I called for service, replaced the fuse at no cost this time and found the defective thermistor that had caused the fuse to blow in the first place. Because DeAnza Appliance provides a 90-day warranty on repairs, Chris did not charge me for the service visit. I had to pay for the new part only. I feel that I was overcharged for the part, and I later spoke to the marketing manager about that. I paid $75 for a part that averages about $30 on the Internet. The marketing manager was not able, he told me, to refund any of what I had payed for that part. Now, despite the fact that I feeI I was charged too much for the part, I am still recommending DeAnza Appliance and giving them 5 stars. They got out here and fixed my dishwasher quickly. I don't blame them for not finding the root cause of the problem on the first visit. I was an engineer myself; I know that can happen. They are friendly, capable, and efficient. They may be a little expensive, but I guess I am willing to pay a premium for good service. Disclosure: I have to mention that DeAnza Appliance gave me a $5 Starbucks coupon for writing this review. They also gave me a $5 coupon for a Yelp review that I wrote after the first visit. That $10 makes it a little easier to swallow the $75 that they charged me for the thermistor.

Have very specific task for their technician to do, as verified by OEM, which does not need separate diagnosis trip or time but they want to charge diagnostic trip fee anyway. I am happy to pay the reasonable cost of the technician time to do the work, but do not need diagnostic fee this time. Seems to just want to collect unnecessary fee instead of getting the work done

Chris Boucher and Peter are the Mngt. Team and they and their Technicians are great in their knowledge, communication, quality of work and over all service...I would give them a "10 Star" Review if possible...Most grateful for their help over the years.

They were so fast and helpful! Our dishwasher stopped working and we got an appointment right away. Our technician was great, he was on time and got everything done quickly. I’ll be recommending them in the future

Wonderful folks who are willing to let you know if it is cheaper to replace than to repair.

Gus came today to repair rubber seal with some mold with a new rubber seal. I waited for the appointment so he would have the part. When he got here he could not do the job bc my washer/dryer is stacked. They never asked me this before the appointment. Then he gave me an estimate for approx $400 to return and fix it with another guy. I declined as this is too much (part was $70). So he did nothing at this time but then DeAnza wanted to collect a service fee?? No way! I expected it fixed today, that’s why I waited for the part. They should have asked over the phone if it was stacking if that makes a huge difference. Gus was nice. Pete on the phone was condescending after I refused to pay service charge. Pete had the audacity to tell me it’s ok not to pay the charge but he could not do business with me again. No Pete, I am not too worried about that! It’s me who won’t be doing business with you!! Sorry Gus, not your fault!

My KitchenAid refrigerator lost its cooling function and needed repair. The service tech initially replaced the mother board however this didn’t fix the problem. They returned and found that the starter relay for the compressor had failed. A new starter relay was installed, the original mother board was placed back in and I was reimbursed for the difference. The refrigerator now works perfectly. I thank DeAnza Appliance for sticking with me and making it right.

I'd like to take my stars back. Repairman was more worried about me giving him 5 stars and using my bathroom. Problem never fixed, came back to check it out again(days later) and was on personal call the whole time and now he'll be back next week, $500plus more

De Anza arrived last week and fixed our initial issue and found that we had a leak. They were able to order the part and come back a week later and fix the leak.
Extremely satisfied -
Our oven went out on Thanksgiving morning (because of course it did). I contacted them over the weekend via the website, got an email response back on Sunday, and the repair tech was at my door Monday morning.
