Straight Shooter Heating & Cooling installed my 3 Mini Split AC. Their employees are hardworking and professional, the job is done in one day. The owner is actively checking every step in the process . The price is reasonable. We are satisfied and happy!

My AC unit went out during one of San Diego's hottest weeks and we were definitely feeling it at the house. I tinkered around with it and tried my best to troubleshoot, but to no avail. I got in touch with Straight Shooter and they sent a tech (Nick) out the next day to assess the problem. He initially diagnosed that the issue was a faulty thermostat as there was no power going from the controller to the unit. He installed a new Ecobee smart thermostat for me (which I love and completely recommend). After that, the unit started right back up. And you would think the story ends, there, but no, there was another issue yet to be discovered. Nick noticed that the air above the fan on the unit was really just ambient temperature, when it should be warmer than the air around it. He checked the coolant pressure on the unit and discovered it was completely empty. He then started taking off the cooling line housing that runs up the side of the house and into the attic and saw that the coolant was leaking out. I had just had the roof on the house redone earlier in the week and the AC went out while the roofers were working on it. Nick climbed up into the attic and discovered that the roofers had accidentally shot a nail through my cooling line, causing the AC to shut down. He took pictures, documented everything, and talked me through all the troubleshooting steps he had taken so I knew what was going on and how to explain it. He then encouraged me to reach out to the roofing company to see if it was something they would be willing to fix. I did just that and the roofing company sent their HVAC tech the next day to correct the problem. Nick was thorough, he was professional, and his attention to detail and documentation of his findings helped me explain the issue to the roofing company who fixed the problem at not extra charge to me. Nick was awesome and so is Straight Shooter. Fantastic customer service and expertise in their field. I will absolutely reach out to them in the future for any HVAC repairs or maintenance that I require.

To say that these guys did a great job is an understatement! From the initial visit with Michael, explaining the process to Chuck and Oscar completing the install, this was the easiest project I’ve ever dealt with for my home. This team is extremely knowledgeable and Chuck and Oscar prevented me from having to call out an Electrician. These guys are just smart, professional, friendly and efficient. Straight Shooter gave us a great experience from start to finish! Jordan did a great job with our initial consultation followed by Michael who gave us a very fair and competitive price for the job. Then we were very happy with the professionalism, care and friendliness of the team that did the install made up of Kenneth, Keegan, Ray and Chuck. These guys were fantastic!

Superior Customer Service In All Areas!
My 12 year old Air Conditioner/Heater had never been serviced.
The AC started making that slight humming noise before the thermostat would restart the unit.
I noticed that Straight Shooter had excellent reviews, so I chose them, I’m sure glad I did! They definitely lived up to every hope and expectation I could have had.

Ken arrived on time with all the necessary supplies and equipment needed for the required work. Additional work to insure the longevity of the system was thoroughly explained and I was completely comfortable with the service provided, I didn’t feel pressured in any way, and I received top notch service by a 5 star company, at what I think is a very fair price.
In these times we’re living in, rarely do we find a company that seems just better than the rest, Straight Shooter Heating and AC definitely is!

We had a great experience with Straight Shooter! I had seen their van at our neighbor's house and thought it was super cute, so I asked our neighbor about his experience with them. He said he was very happy with them and told me to be sure to ask for Mike. I called and spoke to a friendly scheduler and Mike came out to service our heater a few days later. He was very professional and explained everything in a way that was easy to understand. He was also very friendly and we enjoyed conversation with him. Mike is now our go-to guy for any heating or cooling needs!

We needed to have air/heating unit replaces being that it was 30 years old. They were here the next day to install everything so that we would have heating for Thanksgiving! I just had my A/C and Furnace replaced and the team from Straight Shooter (Kenneth, Ryan and Ray) did an outstanding job, and were very professional. The equipment looks great and performs as promised. I would definitely hire them again in the future for any of my HVAC needs.

Straight Shooter installed a mini-split unit in my home several months ago. Three other “big guys” told me that couldn’t do the job as there was no place to put the inside unit. Straight Shooter technician came out, measured my home, found a location, made a template, and gave me a quote. It wasn’t easy but they found a way and got the job done to my absolute satisfaction.
I noticed that there was more condensation from my exterior unit and that it was pooling on the walkway next to my home. I asked that a drain line be installed and married to my interior drain line which goes away from my house. I fully expected to be charged for this “extra”. To my shock, the work was done with no extra charge,

This past week, our company faced a major challenge while on the road. We had one of our event trucks travel from Austin, Texas to California for a series of events, and the AC unit in our mobile showroom—critical to our presentations—unexpectedly went out. Aaron responded quickly and was on-site the very next day. He helped us coordinate and install a new heat pump and mini-split system directly onto the truck.
