Constraction reviews in Sunnyvale, California

UPDATE 12/22/2025:
After submitting my previous review, I was informed by my contractor about some serious shortcomings in the work performed by Groundworks. We discovered that some of the screwjacks were not properly installed and even found that some were not supporting the girders at all. I reached out to my sales contact at Groundworks for help resolving this initially on November 22nd and received response that they would notify the Production Team about the issues. I followed up approximately every week for a month to get some resolution to the poor quality work from Groundworks, but never received any communication from the Production Team at all and had to contact another contractor to have the faulty work fixed. Very disappointed in the work that was uncovered by my contractor, as it is evident that some of the work may have exacerbated the problem we were trying to address.
ORIGINAL:
Ramon and his crew were exceptional in their communication, performance onsite, and consideration for the neighborhood while they helped me to stop a sinking foundation. Although we ran into issues with the work, Ramon and I were able to work through them to bring the project to an acceptable completion and ahead of schedule.
I would recommend using Ramon & Groundworks to address your foundation issues! -
Our technician, Nicholas Mahoney was very knowledgeable and thorough about our problem.
He was friendly and took his time to explain everything the company did. He showed us the reviews, and he looked not only in the inside he went in and inspected our crawl space. He inspected the outside. He used special equipments to make sure we were level in all our places. Nicholas was very professional and well-mannered. -
Dillon Roach shows up and knows what he is doing. Professional and detailed. I’ll follow up again if I go with the service and update my review then

Our experience with Groundworks and specifically Cory Owens and Tommy Wilson was very disappointing. From the beginning, we were given assurances that our project was within their service area, as stated on their website. However, once they collected our $1,000 deposit, communication became nearly nonexistent.
The initial estimate of $14,000 suddenly increased to $22,000 without any explanation or justification. When we requested a refund, it was not returned until we were forced to dispute the charge through our credit card company.
The lack of professionalism and communication was the worst part. We lost two weeks of valuable time when we are under a strict deadline, only to be left without any progress.
I would strongly caution others to look elsewhere for foundation work. -
We had Eric inspect the crawlspace of our home, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. He was extremely professional, thorough, and knowledgeable, taking the time to explain everything clearly and answer all of our questions. His attention to detail gave us confidence in understanding the condition of our home, and they provided actionable insights that were easy to follow. We highly recommend Eric!

Mike and Ian came in for uneven concrete problem that I inherited. They were polite and thorough with their inspection and I feel confident with the project. Next step is to find the fund and hopefully we will go through the project. Thank you, Groundworks!

Wyatt and Jesse were great. They were hard workers, kept me updated daily with their progress and photos, and they kept the work area clean and tidy. Wyatt clearly explained his timeline, what was going on under the house and answered all my questions.

Jose, Vidal and the entire crew were very professional and did a fantastic job stabilizing my foundation. I was very impressed with the process from start to finish. After their thorough cleanup you couldn’t tell anyone was here. 5 STARS!

Ground works came in saying they could fix my flooding issues. They spoke highly of themselves saying they had the best system and best engineers. I spent 2 grand running the electrical they wanted and a weekend ripping up the floor. They came in jackhammered concrete out then said the project couldn’t be completed and they wouldn’t do anymore work on the home. I then used there competitors solution for the problem , the solution groundwork engineer assured me wouldn’t work. I then had to right a negative review for them to issue me the refund on my deposit. I am now trying to re-install my flooring and the concrete they poured after ruining my foundation is 1/2 off level and I’m unable to re- install my floor. Hiring ground works was the biggest mistake I have made in this home. If I went with there competitors initially I wouldn’t have had to even rip up my floor In The first place now I’m out countless hours of work 2k for the electrical and I’m left trying to figure out what to do with my floors. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY

Updated review:
No one showed up for the originally scheduled inspection. Each time I tried calling the office I was redirected to a new department. Definitely need to fix the customer/sales rep way of handling calls.
After the review project manager reached out that it was a system glitch and was able to send an inspector same day in the afternoon. Scott our inspector was great and thorough and so was Ian the PM with prompt follow up the next day. -
I am posting this review because I want to specifically highlight the outstanding, above and beyond work of the two service techs (Nick Picardal and Ashton Price) that came out to fix some outstanding issues with our doors post floor leveling (we were hoping to fix a number of door issues with floor leveling. While our floors were level, the doors still were not functioning).
We had doors that were stuck open, stuck closed, or just didn't latch. They came out, and were able to shim, rehang, and adjust the door frame spacing so that our doors could work properly. They really put in the time and extra effort to make sure the doors were aligned correctly and could work well, and didn't just throw up their hands after one try and say that it was beyond the scope of their jobs because they sincerely wanted to make sure we were fully happy.
They were friendly, very professional, and efficient. They cleaned up after themselves when they were done. Our doors work as intended now, and we can finally use our front door again. Many thanks Nick and Ashton. -
From the beginning, with Bay Area Underpinning, I felt this is a first rate company, 100% qualified in what they do. Now that they have been bought out by Groundwork’s, I feel they are even more aligned to become the premier foundation experts in California, if not the nation. Their expertise, professionalism and knowledge enabled me to feel confident and secure in the decision I made to secure my home’s foundation with them. Special thank you to Lance Sladek and Ashton Price for their endless support and continued follow up.

Do not contact this company, and do not be misled by their professional appearance. The quality of their work is poor, and their follow-up warranty service is virtually nonexistent.
I had major foundation repair work completed by EagleLift (now part of Groundworks) in 2023. The project included underpinning the perimeter foundation with more than 20 push piers and replacing approximately 50 crawl-space posts.
Problems began on day one. Even after this costly repair, several areas of the house remained unlevel. EagleLift attempted to correct the issue but was unable to do so. The situation worsened after EagleLift became part of Groundworks. Groundworks has failed to respond to my service requests, despite my 25-year warranty being part of the contract.
As a result, I had to spend additional time and money to completely replace the portion of the foundation where the issues were most severe. Other areas that were repaired by Groundworks still have unresolved problems, and I have received no response to my warranty claims. More than two years later, I am still waiting for any meaningful follow-up from their warranty service.
[update on 1/27/2027]
Despite Groundworks stating in their response below that they would contact me, several weeks have passed with no follow-up. Based on my experience dealing with Groundworks, this lack of response is unfortunately not surprising. -
Anthony and his team came to fix the two backup batteries issues and relocate the dehumidifier in my house crawl space, they have done a great job with very professional skill. He also provided great service and came to inspect and diagnose the dehumidifier power off issue with knowledgeable suggestions, they have very good communication with homeowner, I highly recommend Anthony and his team, thank you!

After 1 year of the job, Groundworks proactively called me to do the annual inspection that was included as part of my purchase. Nicolas Picardal came in and was amazing. Communicated really well what was the plan, what he was doing, etc. He found that in the idea scenario we would have a pump between the dehumidifier and the main sump pump and came back at 7am the next day to do the job asap! Great service and I felt they cared about my home as much as I do!

The guy Mark Brill from Groundworks came by and take a look at the foundation of my house. He's very knowledgeable and explained everything to me to help me understand what my house foundation is happening. He also provided me full detail on all options available to fix the foundation issue. Good work!

I was scrolling social media when I saw the video of concrete magically rising to level and figured I’d click and inquire more. Mark Brill came to my house to look at my job, evaluate and quote the work. He was patient, knowledgeable and took his time explaining everything. It was really fascinating how easy my troubled walkway could be made level and eliminate a dangerous trip hazard for my family. I had many question and Mark worked through it all and provided me a fair quote for the work! I paid a deposit and awaited scheduling for the install. Fast forward a couple weeks and the installers showed up to complete the job at 8am. They were there on time and was led by a gentlemen by the name of David. David and his teammate worked diligently from 8am-12pm making sure that my job was completed perfectly. David was super nice and was a pleasure to talk with. He listened to my concerns and checked in to make sure the work was up to my satisfaction. They worked on several slabs of concrete and made my entire walkway level with foam rising, crack sealing and grinding. My only complaint is how loud the truck is during the work. Inside the house it wasn’t bad but for anybody walking around the neighborhood it was very loud.
I am happy to now have a very safe and very level walkway to our door that our grandparents can feel safe walking on. Thanks Bay Area Underpinning. -
I hired Bay Area Underpinning, now called Groundworks, for foundation lift on my 1950 home eight years ago. They installed 18 piers (yes, my home had a lot of settling) and the lift was successful in closing cracks and voids in the house.
From the initial inspection to the finished project, the employees were professional, courteous, and diligent workers.
Today Ashton came for a follow up visit and addressed some of my concerns with excellent explanations and reassurance.
I remain very pleased with this company and highly recommend them for any foundation repairs you may need. -
Completed my foundation repair with Groundworks.
I must say, Alex is the most professional, genuine and ethical expert to work with. During inspection, he went over everything in detail and explained the needed repairs. He built trust and came up with a reasonable proposal to fix. Jospeh, Louis and Alex were present during the repair. We were impressed by their attention to details and we highly recommend their service.
I will definitely come back to this business.
Thanks!! -
Overall very good service and I'm hoping this solves my foundation issue for a while. The price is definitely expensive but if the piers stabilize the house forever then it'll be worth it.
The inspection was detailed and a good plan was put together to support the side of the house that needed it most. The project got started sooner than expected and the ground grew (Anthony) were great. Everything went smooth, the house was raised enough to get it more stable without breaking any existing fixtures so we couldn't get it perfectly back flat but it's still great.
The crew cleaned up well and you would have no idea the posts are there.
Thanks groundworks team -
Have a very good service from Leo, this morning. His punctuality, politeness and expertise in carefully assessing our bathroom subfloor situation are of utmost satisfaction. I would recommend him to anyone that need the services.
The company, Groundworks is also very professional in the field, they just simply provide the subfloor structure conditions based on fact base, no selling pressure for their service at all
Very glad to have this type of service in our community!
