"We chose Ascent because we got a good feeling when we first met Justin, our impression was that he was responsive, integritous and honest. It was important to us to be able to trust our contractor to have our best interest in mind as we were coming to collective decisions. We really enjoyed working with Ascent, it was a project of passion, on what we believe will be our 'forever home', so we were super appreciative of Justin and his thoroughness, his attention to detail. We felt very supported every step of the way in the process. The practical experience we had with the whole Ascent team was a true joy, it was wonderful to have the team be a part of our lives for the better part of a year. They were the kind of people that we liked having in our home, it was a joy to see progress on the home because we knew we would run into the guys and they were a big part of the positive experience. The gift they gave us through their craftsmanship and their attention to detail, we are experiencing and enjoying daily. We would highly recommend Ascent Contracting, Inc."

Jared Harry was our project manager. He was fantastic to work with and was very patient and thorough in everything that he did. The roof and window replacement was great and the team that did the work was great as well. I would recommend them to anyone needing roof and window replacement resulting from hail damage. They group was wonderful to work with.

Upgraded this review since the owner has called me back, and he will let me know resolution. The owner seems to be a good person. I recommend one warning and terminate the employee if it happened again. A huge liability for this company if this employee were to cause and bad accident and potentially a lethal one. Going 105 mph in a 75 is NOT safe.
I was driving home safely going the speed limit when a work truck from this company, tailgated me, cut me off, and continue to tailgate everyone else on the highway. Going 35 miles an hour over the speed limit. Never a good thing. I will be reporting this person to the police. -
When we first met Ascent, Justin Bride walked us through the whole construction process, what it would be like to work with his team, and also the timeline from the permit acquisition to the finished product, the education he gave us prior to the build was very valuable. We were impressed with the incredible responsiveness, clear communication and quality work we received on our project. The Ascent team including Justin Ratsliff and Chuck were so easy to work with and very respectful and communicative and collaborative. There was clearly a lot of care taken with the entire construction process as well as the craftsmanship put into our house. We were grateful for the quick response time with any issues that came up. We will wholeheartedly recommend Ascent to friends and colleagues.

Working with Ascent was incredible from the jump. They prepared a quality estimate for our bathroom/laundry/basement bar remodel, and also worked very diligently to be within our budget. We had to go through a few estimates to find the right one for the space and our budget, and they were prompt, communicative and professional throughout the process. Allison is an amazing designer, and laid our space out beautifully.
The construction portion went seamlessly. We had an amazing project manager (Lou and Tanner), they were always communicating what happened with the project each day, we talked through problems when they popped up, and they were very clean and orderly. Not to mention, the work is fantastic. They were great at setting up expectations so we knew what we were in for being new to a large remodel like this. I honestly can't say enough positive things, and I really hope to work with them again soon. -
We hired Ascent Contracting in 2020 to substantially rebuild an existing house into a custom home. While we ran into many problems and cost overruns throughout the process, that is not the worst part. Shorly after moving into our house and before Ascent ever finished the punch list to complete construction, we noticed water damage in our boys' closet that shares a wall with the primary shower. We let Ascent know immediately, but it took them weeks to respond. When they finally came out to investigate where the water was coming from and cut a hole in the wall, water fell out of the wall cavity. The insulation disintegrated from the water. The 2x4’s were saturated
with water and black mold. Ascent promised to fix the problem.
However, the wall just sat there open to our boys' bedroom for over a month before their tiler came to look at it. He then decided to tear up and remove the tile (which was covered in black mold) without taking precautions or setting up any containment. After
seeing the extensive damage and lack of concern for spreading mold throughout the house, we called a mold remediation company. They came out and tested our bathroom
and found stachybotrys (toxic black mold). They also tested the other bathrooms. EVERY SINGLE BATHROOM had significant water damage!!! Every shower that was
installed by Ascent Contracting was installed improperly and had water damage allowing mold to grow throughout our house without us knowing. To make matters worse, this was in May 2023. It has been 2 years. We had to move out of our dream
house, throw most things away, and deal with several kids getting very sick. We have lived in an Airbnb for 20 months, first expecting Ascent to fix the problem like they promised, but they never did. We had to wait until we could take on the remediation and rebuilding OURSELVES because ASCENT DID NOTHING TO FIX THEIR MISTAKES AND HAS PAID US $0. They have refused to take responsibility for their incompetence. As we have been remediating ourselves the problems they caused, we have uncovered many more things they did wrong that we have had to fix, like our kitchen floor starting to sink below our kitchen island because of faulty construction and water coming through the exterior wall because they put our deck on the side of the house wrong. We have tried to go to mediation for 8 months and they can never seem to agree on a date.
Steer clear of this company! If you have used them in the past and a family member is sick, I highly encourage you to call a mold testing company. Either way, I highly encourage you to have your home tested for hidden water damage. -
We chose to hire Ascent Contracting, Inc. because we liked owner Justin Bride's demeanor upon first meeting him. Justin is honest and candid and we appreciated the depth of information he gave us before we even started the project. Justin and his team have an incredible ability to dive into the details of the budget and intricacies of each space while also conveying the big picture and process through conversation and brainstorming sessions. I can remember how much time the Ascent team spent running through the details and the special elements that make each room unique. We have some unusual features in our home that we wanted to preserve to maintain the era of the house and at the same time we wanted the remodel to feel fresh and new. We were impressed with Justin's ability to give honest feedback and simultaneously incorporate our wishes to help us get to the best possible finished project. Every day our family appreciates the craftsmanship and beautiful work by Ascent to truly create spaces that are usable as well as aesthetically pleasing. Five plus years later, we are still loving our home, the quality of the work is top notch and we love and experience our remodel every day. We made the right decisions, both on the design features and on the team that we chose to carry out our vision.

The entire team at Ascent has been a dream to work with! We came to them with a pop-top project in late 2023 and we were moved in ahead of schedule back in to our home. Their expertise was very evident throughout the project, spanning from material choices, architectural design and project management. The design team took our input and generated splendid ideas and a home we couldn't have imagined on our own. The project managers and on-site leads were very open and accommodating to our last-minute requests, even our very picky punch-out list requests, which was minor given the fact that they are so detail oriented.

We used Ascent to build an addition for our home in 2023, including two bedrooms and a bathroom, plus new windows and cosmetic touch ups for the rest of the house.
Throughout the process, the Ascent team was communicative, punctual and easy to work with. Our budget was tight, and Ascent always kept this top-of-mind while insisting on quality work from their crews.
We’ve enthusiastically recommended them to friends in the market for home renovations and additions. We couldn’t have asked for a better contractor for this once-in-a-lifetime project. -
I’m writing this review about ten years late, but my experience with Ascent has stayed with me as the most professional construction experience I've had. It was my first commercial project, and it involved rezoning a residential property and rebuilding within the footprint to meet commercial code. I tend to be aspirational, so thank goodness for my next decision.
I interviewed several contracting companies, but chose Ascent because of how not like a typical contractor the principal, Justin, was. He approached the project with a sophisticated, project management mindset. I hoped I wouldn’t just get a final product I was happy with—he’d also navigate the tricky layers of rezoning, building code, budget, and (most importantly) schedule. I had contracts in place that required the building to be occupiable by a hard deadline, and he delivered—by about 48 hours!
Justin was competent without being condescending. If something was important to me, he made it important to him. Those qualities extended to his crew, who clearly respected and enjoyed working for him. The project had more than a few hairpin turns (thanks, Denver permitting), but they stayed calm, never cut corners, advocated with the city when I was out of my depth, and produced excellent work.
I’d use Ascent again in a heartbeat for any project requiring detailed coordination, strong management, and people you can trust to care as much as you do. (So, pretty much for anything more complex than replacing a toilet!)
I never got the chance to properly thank the crew for their professionalism—and for redoing anything that didn’t meet my (admittedly exacting) standards for being level over 20 feet. Thank you, Ascent! -
We just completed a large addition and renovation project on our home in Denver with Ascent. We would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a partner to build or renovate a custom home, based on the quality of their work, their communication, and their ability to bring your vision to life. Some additional thoughts on each aspect:
Quality - Ascent truly cares about customer satisfaction and is meticulous about quality workmanship in their projects. They have a deep bench of talented subcontractors that they manage well and hold to a high standard. If something was not done right the first time, we knew it would be addressed quickly and resolved to our satisfaction. Material quality and value is another aspect to highlight. The Ascent team has a strong ability to source and recommend materials and furnishings that are both high quality and cost-effective.
Communication - Ascent takes an approach to project management that prioritizes regular, straightforward communication about all aspects of a project, from what’s going on at the house this week to how the project is tracking to the overall budget and schedule. There were few if any miscommunications during our project. They are all very passionate and knowledgeable about what they do, which always made it fun to talk with them.
Vision - We came to Ascent with a very rough idea of what we wanted. In the design phase, that idea evolved significantly as they helped us think through the renovation from practical, aesthetic, and budgetary perspectives. Once the plans were done and we started construction, there were still a million different things to think through. We always had confidence in the team’s expertise to present us with the best options to make informed decisions. -
I cannot say enough great things about Justin and the rest of the team at Ascent Contracting. They built a second-story addition on our home a few years ago, and knocked it out of the park. From Justin's careful scheduling to ensure the project came in on time to the deep thoughtfulness the team placed on our entire family's wellbeing, every part of the experience was superlative. I would use Ascent Contracting again in a heartbeat -- you will not go wrong with them.

We recently hired Ascent to renovate and remodel several rooms in our historic home, as well as to handle various cosmetic updates. Our house was built in ~1890 so my partner and I were very nervous about finding a contractor who could handle the complexities of an older structure, but the team handled them with professionalism and care. The quality of work was excellent and the team was consistently responsive throughout the process. Any questions or concerns we had were addressed promptly, which kept the project moving forward and on-schedule. They managed to blend our personal style with the home's historic character, creating a cohesive yet functional space. We are very pleased with the final result and would recommend Ascent to anyone looking for high-quality project management.

We had a fantastic experience working with Justin and his team at Ascent. From the very beginning, Justin guided us through every step of the process and somehow made a major renovation feel fun instead of stressful. Any minor issues that came up were handled openly and quickly, which gave us a lot of confidence throughout the project. By the end, our young children even knew the crew by name—we have a great photo of them all together during the final punch list stage, which we actually framed and hung on our wall as part of documenting the whole building process. We’re grateful for the craftsmanship, communication, and kindness. Highly recommend Justin and Ascent Contracting, Inc.

We’re incredibly grateful to the entire Ascent Contracting team for designing and building our dream home. From the earliest concepts to the final finishing touches, their craftsmanship, vision, and attention to detail have brought our ideas to life in a way that feels both stunning and uniquely us. Every day, we find new reasons to appreciate the thought that went into every detail—interior and exterior design, planning, tech integration, audio/video, landscaping (still in progress and already looking amazing), and even the finished garage.
One of the biggest highlights was how well Ascent communicated throughout the process. The team was clear, responsive, and collaborative every step of the way. They worked seamlessly with our architects (Cult Creative), turning shared ideas into reality while making smart adjustments when needed. We always felt like we were part of a unified team working toward the same vision. -
Hiring Ascent Contracting to remodel my kitchen and bathroom was one of the best decisions I’ve made. I own a house built in 1956 so it needed some upgrades. However I wanted to maintain the integrity of the 1950s style. Justin and Allison helped me make decisions about design that met my expectations. The work team were all very professional and their work was exactly what I hoped for. Everyone who sees my kitchen and bathroom compliments how unique and inviting those rooms are. I highly recommend Ascent for any construction or remodeling job you have in mind.

We recently completed a basement remodel with Ascent. From initial consultation, to design, to construction and completion we couldn't have been happier with the experience. We spoke with several contractors when considering our project before deciding to work with Ascent. Right from the start, it was clear that Ascent not only had the know-how and experience to complete our project, but would also be able to do it in a way that reflected our design aspirations, disrupted our life at home as little as possible, and would be transparent throughout the project. No other company we spoke to gave us the same confidence, especially in working on our early 20th century home where preserving the historic charm of the home was of the utmost importance to us.
We were particularly impressed with several members of Ascent's team. Justin was always communicative about the design and build process, and could explain any issues or decisions we needed to make in a way that was clear to us as construction non-experts. Allison and the design team were attentive to the smallest details and did a fantastic job of matching our design aesthetic while providing suggesting options when we weren't exactly sure what we wanted. Tanner was a reliable and communicative day-to-day supervisor; we always knew what was happening and when, and what to expect in the coming days. He could quickly troubleshoot any issues or answer questions that arose.
Overall, we are thrilled with the work that Ascent did, and loved working with their team. Our project was completed on time, on budget, and exceeded our expectations for design and execution. We absolutely won't hesitate to use Ascent again for future home projects. We can't recommend Ascent highly enough! -
Outstanding general contractor with high-quality workmanship. The team was punctual, organized, and completed the project on time. They paid close attention to detail and maintained clear communication throughout. The final result exceeded my expectations. Reliable service and excellent professionalism. Highly recommended.

Very professional general contractor with excellent project management. They handled the renovation smoothly, communicated clearly throughout, and ensured the work was completed on time. The craftsmanship and attention to detail were outstanding. I would definitely recommend them for renovation projects.
