if I could give a negative number I would. Scheduled an appointment with them with a window from 2 to 5. Waited for them waited and waited. Got a call saying he would be right over that. He was just cleaning up from the other job and waited longer. Got a call at seven at night saying that there was a problem and could they schedule for the next day. I told them that would be fine, but that I had to be gone by noon. I waited at my home all morning. Got a call from them at 11 saying that the guy was just cleaning up from his job and he should be there by 12:30. Frustrating doesn’t even begin to describe it. I will Go out of my way not to recommend these people. Terrible terrible service

Saso was great! He arrived within an hour of making the call. He snaked our main line all the way to the alley and cleared a blockage. He was knowledgeable and up front about what to expect. He was very easy to work with!

Waldo arrived timely. He was friendly and courteous. He quickly assessed our plumbing issue and took the time to explain the required course of action. As a result, we would recommend him and Roto-Rooter to others.

We had a gentleman by the name of Chris come out on Sunday, the 21st, because our main drain in the basement was backing up. Other than showing up 2 hours after our scheduled window, he did a great job and cleaned the drain for us. His site manager, Mike, also came out and talked with us about our options to fix the issue as drain cleaning was not going to solve the problem we had. He showed us camera footage of our pipes and explained that they were cracked and even had a hole in them and were basically failing. He quoted us between $10-$14k to re-lay all the pipes in the basement related to the main line. He also said they would replace all the galvanized steel and cast-iron pipes that were in the basement. He reiterated that it would be a one-day job, and that they would make sure all procedures were followed. It ended up costing about $16,500.00 in total.

Eight hours into the project, I texted Mike to see where we were at with the project because one of the workers asked if they could come back the next day to lay the concrete. We told them that nobody would be home Thursday or Friday, so they had to finish it that day. I messaged him at 5:45 that night, and he did not get back to me until almost 45 minutes later and all he had to say was that they would come back the next day to lay concrete. I let him know that they were finishing the job that day due to nobody being home the next two days. He then said he would have to come back to reset the basement toilet, and we could text him Saturday or Sunday after 11am to have him come out. This is unacceptable as it is 3-4 days after the project should have been finished.

As for the job, they re-laid all the pipes in the floor, but they did not replace all the cast iron and galvanized steel pipes along the walls from the kitchen and basement bathroom. They only replaced a few inches of cast iron piping, knowing the pipe was rusting and needed replaced, and about two feet of the steel piping. We were told that the pipes would be replaced “as high as they could go without having to cut into wood”. On top of that, they dug up my basement bathroom shower, moved the piping about six inches above the floor, and did not fix it or replace the concrete in the shower. Given that we were told multiple times that this would be a one-day job, it is very frustrating that as of today, the job is still not finished.

We called Roto-Rooter to file a complaint about the job, and they had a manager by the name of Lenore call us back to go over the issues we had. She said she would get in touch with Mike’s supervisor, Andrew, and have him call us as well. I spoke with Andrew yesterday and he told me that he was going to send out a crew to fix the piping, lay concrete, and reset the toilet. He was supposed to call back yesterday evening with a time that someone could come over to do the concrete and set the toilet, but as of 2:30pm MST today, Friday 9/26, I have not heard back from him regarding the concrete work or to schedule someone to come out and take care of the pipes that need replacing. Andrew also said he would be refunding $2,500.00 from what I paid for this job, along with the $480 we paid on Sunday when they came out, they said they were only going to charge us once so they would refund what we paid on Sunday since we were having this job completed by Roto Rooter. We still have not received either refund.

I was also told that I would receive in writing, a confirmation of the 10-year transferable warranty, but have not received that either. It has now been 5 days since this "one day job", and it is still not finished. So far, this whole process has been very frustrating and disappointing, and nobody seems to want to make things right.

Roto-Rooter saved us! We had a terrible blockage in the basement, RR was out to our home within an hour, got the blockage cleared and then when they sent a camera down our line, discovered our pipe had sunk and was pooling water. Your team from Thomas to Tyler & Angelo that worked so hard to get our sewer lines replaced. We cannot say enough good things! Thank you!

Feras was wonderful! He fixed our backed up drain and was such a professional! He was respectful of our home, timely and worked hard to fix our problem. He cleaned up and left everything working! My water valve on the main floor burst and had Roto-Rooter come out to fix it. They were prompt, professional and affordable! I intent to call them with any additional plumbing issues.
The technicians that came out were very efficient, knowledgeable and patient with me and my questions.

This was one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. Roto-Rooter is disorganized, unresponsive, and aggressive once they want payment.

They do not return calls — ever. After leaving fans at my home that appeared to be overheating, no one followed up, no one checked in, and no one called back, despite multiple attempts. I had to deal with the situation on my own, which felt unsafe and irresponsible on their part.

They also just show up without coordination and expect you to be home, rather than communicating like a professional service company.

Billing was another nightmare. I was overbilled twice, and it was only corrected because I caught the mistakes myself. Had I not checked carefully, I would have been charged incorrectly with no accountability.

Once billing became an issue, the tone completely changed. Collections and field managers were rude, nasty, and unprofessional. If you don’t pay exactly when they want — regardless of billing errors — they become disgustingly disrespectful and are quick to threaten or send accounts to collections.

They clearly do not care about customer feedback, reviews, or BBB complaints — and it shows. I strongly encourage anyone considering Roto-Rooter to check the BBB and online reviews first, because my experience lines up exactly with the many negative reports already out there.

Save yourself the stress and look elsewhere

I will not ever call Roto Rooter again. Ever. The technician, was dismissive and rude. He was visibly angry when he quoted me more than $500 for a kitchen drain clog (that their competitor took care of for $83!) and I declined because I felt that was way too much. Terrible bedside manner .... it was almost scary and had me wishing my husband was home, but I was fine because my 6'7" 280lb 20yr old was home ....

While not the cheapest service in town I highly recommend Roto-Rooter for their immediate response and personable, professional technicians. Connor and Danny worked diligently and tirelessly for 3 hours clearing lines only to be thwarted by a dropped or broken line. Connor returned the next day with Ryan to camera the line and locate the break. Excellent job by all.

Mehdi from Roto-Rooter did an excellent job unclogging my kitchen drain quickly and efficiently. He was professional, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain what caused the issue and how to prevent it in the future. I really appreciated his friendly attitude and high-quality work.

We needed an urgent drain cleanout to the street, and other than scheduling and timing issues with the dispatch team, we are very pleased. Saso was knowledgeable, helpful and efficient, and his trainee De Angelo did very well. The entire process was explained, options offered and a plan executed. Waldo was fantastic. He spent 2+ hours late into the evening clearing a tricky sewer/drain blockage. When it looked like a more extensive and expensive service might be necessary, Waldo stayed committed and worked hard to get us clear! He was also great to talk to, very polite, and treated the house with care - he even had coverings for his boots and machinery and cleaned up our bathroom before leaving!

After a very frustrating experience with another plumbing company that immediately pushed a costly hydro jetting solution without properly diagnosing the issue, I contacted Roto-Rooter and was fortunate to work with Ryan Harvey.

Ryan listened carefully to what had happened, showed real empathy, and made time to come out promptly to assess the problem. He approached the situation the right way with knowledge, professionalism, and a clear explanation of options rather than jumping to the most expensive fix.

What stood out most was the combination of technical expertise and genuine care. Ryan restored my confidence after a stressful situation, and I truly appreciated his honesty and responsiveness.

CJ then came out to perform the hydro jetting and also ran a camera through the drain to confirm everything was fully cleared. His technical skill, thoroughness, and professionalism were outstanding, truly one of the best technicians I’ve worked with.

Connor and Sergio are great plumbers. They showed up on time, told me about the issues involved in replacing the corroded fittings and the price to replace them. You can say that all that is expected from a plumber, but they went well above and beyond. Thank you guys, great job 👍
