I called this company for a simple air duct cleaning. It took two months for them to come out to do a quote. Once here, the technician was here for an hour and a half measuring my vents. He said he would email me by the end of the week with an estimate. After one month, and no estimate, I called to let them know I had not received anything. The secretary assured me that she would get back to me with the estimate. No phone call. A month after that I called again to get my estimate. The secretary assured me again that she would call me back. No phone call. Now three months later I have given up on this company. Very disorganized, unresponsive.

The nice lady in the office was amazing and very helpful. We needed a value replaced after a home inspector knocked it off. They were the quickest to respond to our “none emergency” that others plumbers didn’t feel like was a necessary same day fix.

Just bought a fix and flip about a month ago. The house was built in 1960 and I needed to get an assessment of the overall plumbing situation, in addition to adding a water pressure regulator (water pressure was WAY to high). Luther took care of me. He added the regulator as well as assessed any of the other issues that could cause problems in the future. His main concern was that the house had sound plumbing. There may be cheaper options (hourly rate), but it seems you can really count on Bill Smith to do quality, honest work.

Buyers beware…there is a reason they only have 4 stars….
If I could give Bill Smith Plumbing and Heating less than 1 star I would without hesitation! I scheduled an HVAC install appointment with their service guy, Lane, over two weeks ago only to wake up with a phone call the day of the appointment from Crystal to tell me that “we don’t do that kind of work” and a referral to some one else who ,by the way, doesn’t work on the weekends. I even called yesterday and confirmed the appointment with Paul who said we’ll be there from 3-5pm on Sat! When I called to speak with them today I reached Ben who didn’t know anything and acted like yeah “we suck”!!! I asked to speak with the owner Roy and Ben was not interested in bothering him today about this issue. Absolutely terrible customer service!!!

Reliable and fair. I have been using Bill Smith Plumbing for almost 20 years and have been pleased every step of the way. Prior to finding them, I went through several companies that did very little, never had the parts with them (charged for going to get them), and overcharged for what little work they did. You can rely on Bill Smith Plumbing to know what is wrong, fix it and treat you fairly. Can't say enough good things about them. The only bad thing (for me not for them) is they are so good they stay busy, so call when you first see a problem and get them scheduled.

    MR. LEROY GEORGE YEHLE,
Just wanted to leave my personal experience I had with your company Bill Smith Plumbing & Heating. I am a renter in University Hills who had authority from my landlord to call and set appointment with BSP&H to diagnose our furnace. I confirmed immediately they had my landlords name & number so he could authorize the repair. I also advised her that I (tenant) would be covering any charges. They came out Thursday to check furnace they diagnosed the problem as a bad circuit board. I was advised that day (by the receptionist) over the phone the service trip fee would be around $200 then extra for whatever parts may be needed. I didn’t hear from your company again until Tuesday (when my wife & I called), receptionist said they obtained the part for the furnace and would install Wednesday. They Came out, installed the part Wednesday. They then had to return again Friday because furnace still wasn’t functioning properly. So now there was another appointment set for Friday. (THE FOURTH TIME)! The receptionist was giving me a hard time about disclosing what charges/bill they just sent over to my landlord even after I advised them on the first call that I would handle the billing! I’m just making sure your company if not getting over on my landlord. I now believe your tech misdiagnosed the issue to begin with. Two different men arrived Friday. They found something wrong that was completely different then the alleged issue with the circuit board. They said it was the actual (old analog thermostat) not reading the temp correctly, he wasn’t sure what exactly was wrong with the circuit board since he wasn’t the rep that came out to diagnose. Funny, first rep who diagnosed bad circuit board didn’t say anything about the old analog thermostat?? I then called back once they left and everything was finally functioning properly, asked for Roy Yehle and the secretary placed me on hold, she returned to the line and said he was on the phone and she took my name and number said he would return the call today in reference to my concern, he has yet to return my call, it’s now 6 days later. If you can’t even return my call to prove to me the services you performed were in fact necessary, there’s something wrong here. Sorry, my landlord and I won’t be using this company any longer. Sincerely, Concerned Customer.
Update, Roy finally returned my call after my negative Google review. And Gave us a discount for inconvenience. Still the Bill was almost $1000! I still did not get a breakdown of all of the charges only an addendum that showed the discount, Roy still did not prove to me that the circuit board was in fact bad. He tried... Again we will not be using this company anymore.

So I have tried to use them twice now, the first time it was 300$ for a mainline, which is high, but fine... then I try to call back the next time and use my home buyers warranty, they act like that is not real money. They get paid the same day of service so no excuses on their end, just lazy. Will be finding a new plumber now. Just moved here and was hoping to find someone for next 20 years of service... not this place

I have used Bill Smith Plumbing for years for annual furnace maintenance and plumbing jobs. I had Bill Smith come out to service a boiler in a home I just bought that had not been serviced for years. They were here all day. The boiler was very dirty and needed to be cleaned and serviced. The wiring had to be fixed. The owner even came out and worked on the boiler. These guys back their work and I could not be more pleased.

They came to my house within a half hour of hearing about the problem.
The plumber named Luther was extremely courteous and very helpful even to the point of saving me money by letting me know what would be under warranty.
He was very knowledgeable and worked quickly and solved three of our kitchen sink problems very well. In fact he did excellent work. I will continue to work with this company whenever I have plumbing problems. Thanks Dr. Caplan

$65 to drive out, $248 for spending an hour looking at a pipe and writing up diagnosis and discussing options tailored to what parts were on the truck, not what the job needed. So over $300 for no actual work done when we declined their overpriced repair strategy.

Came out to evaluate my system for free, which was great. The gentleman was friendly and knowledgable and seemed honest, and said he would "send out a specialist, because he couldn't give me an accurate estimate." (He is one of the stars in this 2-star review.) Then, they 100% ghosted me. No call, no response to my calls, nothing. If a company doesn't want my business at this stage, they should at least be able to say no, not just disappear. It is too bad, because they came highly recommended and I was really looking forward to working with them.

Other guys wanted $850 to repair a busted wire that was causing our AC not to work; also said it would take “all day” to repair. Bill Smith Plumbing came out the very day I called them for a second opinion, was prompt, and repaired the damaged wire very quickly for $144! Would highly recommend.

Sears sent me a “contracted” Repair person who was an independent operator. That company told me that my furnace had a cracked heat exchange and that I needed a new furnace. After feeling something wasn’t right I decided to call Bill Smith and my gut instinct was correct!!!! All it needed was a $12.88 part. The other company tried charging my warranty company to install the new furnace and also tried conning me out of another $875 in “non covered” installation fees at the last minute. They knew I was desperate for heat since the temperatures dropped to below freezing. I hope this example shows you Bill Smith is a local reputable business who does the right thing even when it doesn’t make them the most money. Thank you Bill Smith!!!!!

Bill Smith Plumbing & Heating repaired a very old furnace and saved it's life, and rescued us. The office staff and the two technicians that served us were so wonderful, from finding workable parts for a dinosaur furnace, to the work completed timely and well, to treating us with respect and kindness during this difficult time of covid. They turned a very stressful and disaster-potential situation into a fix, saving us the cost of a new furnace. I highly recommend.

Sean did a FANTASTIC job replacing my water meter yoke! I will be using Bill Smith pluming from now on! Fair pricing too! Another company wanted to charge me $1100 for a three hour job, Bill Smith was less than half that! Professional service all around!

Unsatisfactory service and communication. Invoiced for more hours than the plumber worked on 2 occasions. They didn't answer the phone when I called on 5 or more occasions. It took 3 months to complete a 1 day job, because they couldn't accurately calculate how long they would need to install a whole house aquasana water filter. I do not recommend BSPH. Find a family business that takes pride in their work and has a more positive company culture. Good luck.

P.s. I'm considering hiring another plumber just to review the work they did because I have no faith in them.

Bill Smith recently replaced our water heater. I was pleased with the quick response to my call and the work that was completed. The plumber who installed the water heater took the time to explain everything to me. Also a good job of cleaning up after the installation

I used these guys for years and they do high quality work but they're outrageously expensive. I was paying ~$400 for annual furnace service before I switched to Brother's where I now pay $300/year for furnace, A/C, plus annual electrical and plumbing inspection.

I had a faucet problem in my bathtub, which had a Moen fixture which are very difficult to replace and repair. We walked into the shop, and Roy assisted us with a tremendous amount of patience, and knowledge regarding how to alleviate our issues. I would highly recommend this plumbing service. They are very professional, kind and knowledgeable.

No pricing transparency! Dripping drain cap which was repaired in 5 seconds with a rubber gasket which the repairman found next to my pipe valve....was charged $115 which I was then informed is the minimal fee. This minimal fee was not disclosed prior to the visit. I had believed it was a visit for a free repair estimate as I had also scheduled Southside Plumbing and Plumbline to come by as well in order for me to comparative shop what I thought would be an expensive repair (which it turned out it was). Bill Smith Plumbing happened to be the quickest to schedule (which was good) but their pricing transparency was horrible...Beware!!
