HVAC reviews in Fort Collins, Colorado

I scheduled a service check not long ago, and since I wasn’t home, my partner met the technician instead. She mentioned that it was a little challenging to understand the explanations, and the issue we had pointed out with the dampers didn’t appear to be reviewed the way we expected. I’ve brought this company out before for other work and have always appreciated their clear communication, so I’m hoping our next visit gets us back to that same level of service.

The specialists who came out to fix my system did an outstanding job. They were courteous, knowledgeable, and very easy to communicate with. They arrived soon after I reached out and had everything running smoothly again much quicker than I expected. I also liked how they broke down the pricing and explained the different options clearly.

We had a heat pump system installed some time ago, and the installation was handled very professionally. The crew did quality work, and everything ran smoothly for years. Recently, I noticed a minor vibration and reached out to the company to have it checked.

We scheduled an HVAC maintenance visit before summer. The technician cleaned the condenser coils, checked refrigerant levels, and inspected the air conditioning system. Very satisfied with the preventative HVAC maintenance service.

Had twin HVAC units installed to replace older systems in a commercial space. Communication was excellent, and the team was accommodating with a few special requests. The work was completed on time with great attention to detail. Very satisfied with the results.

The team arrived early and took the time needed to make sure the new HVAC system was installed correctly and working as it should. They were polite, well-informed, and explained things clearly throughout the process. Overall, it was a smooth and reassuring experience.

The technician who came out for my HVAC inspection was right on time and very knowledgeable. Before getting started, he explained exactly what he would be checking and gave me a clear idea of how long it would take. Overall, it was a smooth and positive service visit.

From consultation to installation, everything went exceptionally well. The technician arrived on time, explained all my options, and installed the new thermostat quickly and correctly. He even tested it multiple times to ensure proper operation. Very professional, courteous, and detail-oriented. Highly recommend their service!

I scheduled a home air conditioning checkup to keep my system operating at its best. The technicians performed a detailed inspection, cleaned the components, and made sure everything was functioning efficiently. After the service, the unit has been running smoothly and quietly. I appreciated the thorough work and professional approach, and it gives me peace of mind knowing my AC is ready to handle the warmer days ahead.

From start to finish, the service was handled very well. The technician worked independently for several hours and performed a detailed cleaning of the HVAC unit along with the ductwork. He arrived right on schedule, stayed professional the entire time, and clearly knew what he was doing. I was impressed by the level of care and precision throughout the job, and everything felt organized and properly completed.

Northern Colorado Air was responsive when I called. The tech who came out to fix my furnace was informative and thorough in answering my questions. I appreciate the speed at which the repair was made as well.

This company is locally owned and stands out for their honesty, integrity and knowledge. We have been using them for about a year after some bad experiences elsewhere and will stick with them for sure!

I hired NCA to install ductwork to Boulder county codes. I was assured all work would be done to code. When the county came out there were 2 big things missed: a duct to the mechanical room to draw out combustible air. That is a very basic requirement that everyone knows when you are closing in a mechanical room.
Secondly- Boulder county requires an air balancing fan for rooms that don’t have a window. This is a newer code, but still, knowing current codes is a fundamental part of their business. This was a miss in the work that was done, and I went elsewhere to have it done. -
While purchasing a new home, my inspector discovered that the cold air return ducting was left wide open near the furnace. My real estate agent called his favorite HVAC guy to check it out. Brett said that it would be an easy and cheap job to button up the ductwork. After moving in I tried to call Brett's cell and left a message. After a couple of days, I tried again but this time his message said that he would be on vacation for a week. I called the main office to arrange for someone else to handle it. The lady who answered the phone didn't believe the description of my problem and argued with me. She insisted that it was the combustion line to the outside. She told me that I would have to wait for Brett to come back from vacation and refused to assign anyone else to the job. I got huffy, but didn't yell or curse. She hung up on me. I will not be working with this company even after Brett returns.

I was told that I had a CO leak and needed $300-400 of repairs. Have had two separate companies reassess and tell me that is not the case. The two additional evaluations have cost me an additional $200 but glad I found out before repairs. They have a good reputation but this technician really made me lose faith and will never use them again.

I made an appointment over a month ago to have someone come out and clean my furnis today. I called earlier today to confirm my appointment and over the phone. Mike told me they would be at my home between 2pm - 4pm. I took over work early to come home. I waited, & waited and when it got. Lose to 4pm I called them to see what happened. The receptionist who answered the phone was rude and blew me off. I asked to talk to Mike, and after a long wait on hold he answered, and also blew me off. "Whatever, it happens, I can reschedule you, but no one is coming today. How about Thursday?" When asked who the owner was, Mike replied, Mr. Griff, but he is old and doesn't work here anymore." Soooooo does that mean Mr. Griff doesn't care about his customers. Or how they are trated by their staff? Because that is what it sounded like to me. Mr. Griff I would hope, and Im pretty sure you do care. Your values and business approach to your customers is not being upheld at your company. The tone of voice and the unprofessional behavior of your staff was shifty today. I will share this negative review on every platform several times let people know that your staff does not conduct business morally. Taking into consideration the time and money of its customers.

Blake was extremely knowledgable and very professional. He explained everything he was doing and we want him back! He even explained possible future issues to look for and how to avoid them. Amazing service!

Steve M. with NCA saved my elderly mother $3650 that some other company was going to charge her for a brand new AC unit. It ended up needing only $12.00 in parts! THANK YOU NCA!! Your service was amazing and Steve M is worth his weight in gold!! I highly recommend this company and will now sign both myself and my mother up for their low cost annual service agreement! Nice to know there are still companies out there that work with integrity!

Colorado Northern Air hit a home run at my home. We had a furnace problem on Wednesday and by Thursday afternoon we had a new furnace. Jeff Richards and his employees are the best! If you don’t use Northern Colorado Air for any of your heating problems 24/7 you will regret it. I give NCA 5 stars out of 5.

I called Northern Colorado Air in June because my home HVAC system was due for annual inspection and maintenance. They were unable to schedule me until more than a month out, which I figured was OK since it was just routine. The day before my appointment they called to remind me that I needed to be at home for my 3-5pm service appointment window. I came home from work early only to wait and wait. At 4:45 I decided to call to see when I could expect them. I got a message saying they were closed and their normal hours were 8-5. I waited until around 5:30 and then decided to call their after hours number to see if someone was still coming (we had plans for the evening and needed to know). I was asked if I could wait on hold, which I did for about 20 minutes before giving up.
It’s now 3 days later and I have not yet received a call to apologize for not showing up or to reschedule. If Google allowed zero stars for a rating I would give Northern Colorado Air a zero because for my experience a one is one star too many.
