I wish I would have been fortunate enough to have a 5 star experience with PS Cool Heat. Alex replaced the old tank water heater with a tankless. Prices were competitive and water heater works great. The problems started when I asked about the inspection. Be aware that the price of the permit to have the work inspected is not built into the quote. When I made the inquiry, they were surprised like this is something new. I was charged an additional $200+ for the permit and it took them over 7 weeks to get the correct and required information to Douglas County so the unit could be inspected. I made repeated phone calls and text messages to Yvonne and Alex at PS Heat and Cool trying to find out what was taking so long. The usual answer was that they submitted all the information and they were waiting on Douglas County. Every other inspection on water heaters and HVAC systems in our home has happened in less than a week. I called Douglas County myself a total of 4 times and the reason for the delays was documents that weren’t legible and missing information, including blank faxed documents. The water heater passed inspection. I was informed by the inspector that PS Heat Cool should have presented us with a choice of direct or indirect ventilation. Indirect ventilation is on our water heater now with only one pipe to the outside. I was told that the installer was either being “cheap, lazy or possibly both” when he decided to vent indirectly. I will not use this company again. The fact that they do not routinely pull permits for this type of work is a red flag.

Addendum to my review:
After my review, Alex contacted me and offered to come to our house and add the additional indirect ventilation pipe (even though it passed inspection without it) for free. He also did a complimentary maintenance for both the A/C and furnace. The work was completed and we are pleased with the great customer service he has provided.

Alex was fantastic! My 25 year-old York AC unit stopped working. It’s at that age where pretty much anybody would try to sell you a whole new system. Alex took one look at it and knew exactly what the problem was, it just needed a new capacitor. For 165 bucks, which included the service call, repair and part, he replaced the faulty capacitor and my compressor now has some more life left in it! Thanks to Alex and PS Cool for fast and honest service. When the day does come for me to replace my HVAC system, I won’t hesitate to use this company.

PS Cooling and Heat were amazing. They replaced my furnish and AC. Costs were great compared to others and they provided amazing customer service. Very knowledgeable and did a great job. Everyone was incredibly nice, they were fast and got everything done on very short notice for a part I was hosting after my AC went out. We had such a great experience from start to finish with this locally owned company. Alex, the owner, is transparent, honest, and a pleasure to work with. The entire team—from the office staff to the project manager and the crew who installed our heat pump and furnace—was professional, friendly, and incredibly hardworking. It’s very clear they take pride in what they do. So glad we chose a local business we can trust!

Contracted PS Cool Heat to install an AC, furnace, and humidifier. Communication was poor, and the project took four months to complete. The initial July 2025 installation was left unfinished with no notice, and I discovered a gas leak that required shutting off the furnace. After a failed inspection, it took two months to address the gas leak and remaining items, and a second inspection failed again for previously noted issues. Final approval wasn’t received until Nov 2025, after further delays and poor scheduling communication.

I have been using PS Cool Heat for years!! They are dependable, trustworthy and reasonably priced! Response rate is good as well—our furnace went out in the winter on a Wednesday and they squeezed us in on Friday so we wouldn’t have to go the weekend without heat!

I worked with Josh on a new HVAC system. From the very beginning he was knowledgeable and I didn't feel like he was being pushy with a sale but was giving me the info I needed to make my own decision. He was open and honest and from beginning to end I felt I was treated right as a customer from an info, process, price, and communication perspective. Would definitely recommend based on my experience.

PS Cool Heat is great!

We had our Furnace and Air Conditioner replaced and Alex was very easy to work with. I had a lot of questions and he answered them all.

We got 8 other quotes and PS Cool Heat had a very good price compared to the competition. One thing I really liked about the PS Cool Heat quote was that he broke down the cost for the AC and Furnace separately and listed multiple options on the same quote. This made it extremely easy to understand the cost of the different models.

The installation went smoothly, and almost everything was finished in one day. They came back to finish up with the high efficiency furnace since the PVC venting took a little extra work. The crew that did the install did a great job and were very friendly.

Alex filled out all the paperwork for the Xcel Rebate (heat pump) and the warranty registration for our equipment. He also discussed the Tax incentives so we were aware what those would be for the equipment we were purchasing.

So far our new system has been running for almost two months with no issues and we are very pleased.

HVAC is still pretty expensive but PS Cool Heat had very competitive pricing that made the purchase an easier choice to make.

PS Cool installed a new furnace and heat pump for me. The crew worked diligently, were respectful and showed up on time. I decided to use them to take advantage of the xcel energy and federal rebates.
Their most expensive quote before the rebates, for a higher end system was less than a competitor's least expensive quote for bottom of the line system including rebates!
Alex is wonderful to deal with, very honest and upfront and honest. A rare find these days.

From the initial quote from Josh, to the ending installation of our new Lennox Heat Pump and High Efficient Furnace, everything was explained thoroughly and exceeded our expectations. Yvette was expedient in submitting rebates to Xcel Energy and scheduling inspector for the permit. Definitely recommend this company for all your HVAC needs. Btw, their estimates were considerably less than the competing quotes we got from other contractors. The installers were very pleasant and professional and didn’t leave until everything was to our satisfaction.

I couldn't be happier with my experience with this company! Life would be so much better if all businesses adhered to this kind of work ethic. Alex responded very quickly when I reached out about an issue I was having with my furnace and came out the same morning to assess what was going on. Based on my comfort level with him, I decided it was time to replace my furnace and a/c...a big decision to make! So grateful for this team! Our AC stopped working in the middle of summer, and after having three other companies come out, we were told we’d need to replace both the AC and furnace—quotes were as high as $20,000. When Alex came, he was honest and thorough, explaining that our AC was actually in great shape and only the furnace needed replacement. His honesty saved us thousands of dollars!
They were able to install the new furnace the very next day, and the whole process was smooth and efficient. The installation crew was professional, respectful of our home, and had everything completed within just a few hours.

Alex is fantastic. Full stop. If you need anything done with your HVAC system, I would highly recommend giving him a call. The price for water heater replacement was lower than the other two. On other occasion he also went above and beyond by checking the entire system for potential issues during the service call. I had a great experience with Alex and will definitely be using him again.

2 replacement furnaces (basement and attic) and AC were installed. I thought I received a fair price and they did great work. Also did the work on Xcel rebates. My son also had them put in a new furnace after seeing what they did at our house. We are very happy with their work.
