Set up an appointment to have a roof inspected and quoted. Waited an hour after the set time and no one showed up. I tried calling the number on the email confirmation, but there was no answer and it went to a mailbox that was full.

Reached out to quote a new roof for a rental in Cleveland based on good reviews here

-They had a representative go visit the property and quoted $9k for the replacement + possible $2k if boards need to be changed
-paid $1k deposit
-day the work was supposed to start they contacted me saying there is slat under part of the roof and they need another dumpster and extra work to the time of $18k double the original quote
The person that did the initial inspection is mistaking and is no longer with the company.
-I understand the work will cost more but I can't proceed with that budget.
-even though admittedly they missed the slat and quoted half the amount, I will give the benefit of the doubt and say it's not a bay and switch.
-but now they refuse to give back the deposit sighting they had dumpster go out there the day of the work and crews lined up.
-I was still reasonable even though they are the professionals that made the wrong assessment and said I would pay for the dumpster........ again even though it's not my fault.
-but they said no even to partial refund

Moral of the story.
When they make mistakes they will not own up and stick you with the bill.

Just an all-around awesome experience. First time I was comfortable spending that amount of money on my roof, knowing that the job would be done right! Awesome crew, hard workers who barely took one break during a 12-hour day! Totally impressed with their work ethic, not to mention that they cleaned up everything – like nothing ever happened! I'd recommend Chappelle to anyone in Akron who needs quality work done on their roof. From the initial phone call to the final clean-up, couldn't have been more kind and helpful.

We had confidence in this business since they had such great reviews, but we sadly didn’t have the same experience.

First strike: They punched a hole through my bedroom closet when one of the workers missed the beam.
(Assumed responsibility and fixed, so ok..)

Second strike—months later, after the bill was pain in full they told us we still owed $12k+. Could not reach anyone at their office to let them know it was a clerical error. More past due notices arrived and we reached out to a lawyer who contacted them and they adjusted our account.
Clerical error or scammy business practice? You decide.

Third strike: 7 months later we noticed a sewer smell coming out of our bathroom. Had to open a wall behind the toilet to reveal they had lifted the vertical plumbing pipe (over a foot higher than necessary) to install the roof which detached it, allowing sewer gas to enter our home—and costing us $$ to repair.

I received four estimates for roofing and siding on my home. I narrowed it down to two of them. I ended up going with Chappelle because they were very detail oriented and communicated the best out of the four. The salesman not only made the process painless, but he also showed up on the job every day to make sure things were going smoothly. I was very impressed with their level of professionalism and the cleanup after the job was spectacular. I am quite a picky customer and they truly impressed me. Had originally hired Chappelle Roofing LLC to do my roof after storm damage in 23. Had to sue my insurance company. After receiving a statement found out the representative was guilty of defamation of character against me, had a second representative that I only talk to once before he was terminated, then a year later, the lawsuit was happening in-between this time had the 3 rep say because this has been going on so long they had to renegotiate the price claimed they had a lot of expansion and overhead to pay for. Not my problem your overhead when I had a contract. My insurance company was a pain in the ass but these contractors are Beyond Shady. DO NOT USE OR BELIEVE ANYTHING THEY SAY.

Great communication with them. They patch up my storm damage until they were able to get a thumbs up from the insurance company. They kept me calm throughout the process. Insurance company dragging it out. Came and finished in one day and a very good clean up.

My husband and I are so pleased with the work that Chappelle Roofing did on our home in Strongsville, OH. They were very professional, efficient, and thorough in their work. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for a quality roofing company in the area.

I would not recommend this roofing company to anyone. They deserve a zero star rating.The crew were smoking marijuana on my bare roof while their team lead left to get sky lights that were not the right size. I had to ask them to cover my skylight opening as soda cans and roofing material was falling into my home. They closed my roof without putting drip channel up on a section and I had to point it out to the team lead. They also messed up my j channel in part of the roof and did not finish putting j channel up. They used the wrong color of flashing around my chimney and I had to have them correct it.
I called the general manager and he tried telling me the insurance has to approve the j channel to be replaced. I had to remind him this was a retail job. It took a battle to come to a resolution and I settled for less than I should have. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

Ray showed up when he said he would, and came with a lot of knowledge to properly explain everything that needs to be done for the roof repairs that needed to be preformed. Chappelle Roofing is #1 in my books
