Constraction reviews in Fort Myers, Florida

We purchased a home from Christopher Alan Homes and closed on February 28, 2025. Since we moved in, we’ve had nothing but issues with this home and we have a warranty for them to fix these issues yet they have not fixed any of the issues we’re dealing with still. The main concern we’re having has been the electrical problem And it could be a severe fire hazard if not fixed. They have sent the electrician out here and they’ve been here multiple times yet they still have not fixed the issue. They keep on blaming everyone else, but will not take the blame for themselves. The lights are flickering in all rooms All the time. I keep having to reset breakers from them popping in the middle of the night or any random time. They are too lazy to rewire their wiring in the attic. When I called Christopher Alan Homes about these issues today they keep on making excuses and now they’re saying that they need things in writing when it was never an issue before. They just do not want to live up to their warranty and help us out which is now a breach in the contract of the purchase that comes with the one-year warranty. So now this has to become a legal issue to the point where we’re going to have to sue Christopher Alan Homes for multiple reasons. They refused to fix anything correctly and they are treating us like we are a nuisance because they didn’t do their job right yet. They’ve taken our money. It has been nothing but lies after lies with Christopher Alan Homes. They told us our HOA fee was going to be $89 and of course the day we move in I created an account for front steps which is what our HOA app is and of course I see a fee for $119 that we are getting every month which is obviously $30 more than what we were told we were going to be paying for an HOA fee monthly. This has been one of the worst experiences that I’ve ever endured by a builder. I strongly advise anyone that is considering buying a house from Christopher Alan Homes to absolutely walk away. I am tired of having to deal with these issues and calling them all the time and them treating me Like I am a problem.

Working with Christopher Alan Homes was an absolute pleasure. They were incredibly understanding throughout the entire process, providing multiple extensions and working closely with us to ensure a smooth closing. Their professionalism, patience, and dedication truly made a difference, making the home-buying experience seamless. Highly recommend!

Update after 6 months in our new home sold by Christopher Alan Homes in Deep Creek Punta Gorda;
Tiles are cracking all of the home even in areas not walked on in closets. Submitted a warranty request and customer care response was its cosmetic and not covered. The kitchen cabinets are falling apart and delaminating more and more by the day. Such a huge mistake we made buying a home from this builder.
Update 7/22/2025
Another example of how the builder blames the buyer and post inaccurate information. We did not have a change of heart. This is new tile damage that was reported and you denied the claim calling it cosmetic. When your tiles are cracking 6 months after closing its is bad installation. Your own representative during the walk thru clearly informed us that the tiles would be covered until the 12 months were up. Hire qualified workers that know how to perform the installations and stop blaming the buyers. Thank god when the water main blew out last week we got a new guy Matt who took the call and got it fixed the same day without making excuses like the other rep at customer no care who just continues to MSU!
PS sign you name if your the owner responding which we know is not the case. -
We closed on our home August 26th, 2022. When we did the walk through they didn’t allow us to blue tape practically anything and rushed us through the home. The attitude of the builder was kind of like “well you’re going to close on the home regardless, so we don’t care. The paint job is shotty, missing chalking in places, and pieces around the foundation are over poured to just mention a few things. Fast forward to Hurricane Ian and my brand new house looks the worst in the neighborhood and they won’t do anything. There is no reason for a brand new roof to be almost 40% gone! My moms house across the street built in early 2000’s with a roof that needs replaced faired better than ours! Christopher Alan Homes won’t do anything about and could care less about their home buyers.
The owner replied to this review asking me to reach out to their warranty department. However, I have done that on more than one occasion and they did not provide any assistance. -
Chistopher Alan Homes stands by their product and does a great job overall! I have been working with Crystal as well Jen Sipperly and they have been nothing short of amazing. I truly appreciate them both and we are still loving the home that we purchased from CAH back in 2020.

CAH is the best builder. We've lived in our home for over two years now and are very happy. They handled any warranty issues quickly during the first year, and even now, have been so helpful in providing contractor information for needed maintenances.

13 active companies in Florida, but the owner of this business could not spend $350 in getting gravel for this construction site, their subcontractors trespassed into our property to get fill to theirs and even took one of our mounds of fill. I reached out to them by email and phone and no reply. A day prior to this they caused a huge mess on this road because again they didn't bother getting gravel for their trucks to go through, instead of hiding behind multiple LLCs and DBAs maybe do things correctly.

Our gate code was not working for our guests. When I called Crystal at CAH she reset it immediately! Her responsiveness and customer service excellence is always above and beyond!

Warranty Division- They came and took note of the issues, scheduled each step of the way. Every step of the way they showed up, job was done and workers left area clean every time. They did a great job. Tile, drywall and stucco all repaired perfectly.

After renting a Christopher Alan Home and going through Hurricane Ian it made us decide to use them for our home we just got built. Martha was a Relator, she is the absolute best and we couldn’t have made it happen without her. Very easy process and helped us out in anyway she could! Highly recommend
The first picture is our current rental after Ian. The second is our new home. -
Buyer beware! Purchased a new construction home from CAH in August of 2023. During my walkthrough to create a punch list I got excuse after excuse. Painted hinges? That’s how our painter does it! Really??? Lawn to my knees and 3/4 dead and weeds. Culvert that never and still does not drain properly. The punch list made that day was never completed to satisfaction. I had an issue with wavy facia. I was told it didn’t meet their quality standard but if I went 50/50 on the fix, they would fix it. Really??? I already paid for you to meet your own quality standard. If you want to buy new construction, avoid this builder. You’ll have a part time job pestering them to get anything done and when they do send someone out, they don’t address it all. The pics are of their “completed” work.
Thank you for your expected response. As anyone with eyes can see from the photos, no matter how many times you sent a painter, all marked touch ups were not fixed. If the attached photos meet the CAH quality standard, your standards are off. Again, buyer beware. Look at the photos and understand that CAH finds that acceptable. The term hacks comes to mind. If you see a CAH home on the market, pass it by unless you want poor finish work, a part time job pestering them to complete the punch list and a pile of excuses. -
From Day 1, Allie Schlake was incredible to work with. She was completely transparent about the home plans, available lots, and pros/cons of each option — no sales pitch, just honest advice.
Once construction began, she clearly explained the phases/milestones and sent regular updates with detailed notes and photos. Her communication was amazing, and her genuine excitement and care really stood out — you just can’t teach that level of dedication!
Even as the builder was transitioning out of our community and ours was one of the last homes completed, Allie and Christopher Alan never missed a beat. Warranty follow-ups and requests have been handled quickly and with the utmost care.
We are beyond happy we chose a Christopher Alan home and feel so lucky to have had Allie as our rep. Highly recommend! -

My wife and I retired and moved here from up north to get away for the cold and snow. You, I am sure, have heard that before, We decided on the area, SW Florida, Punta Gorda, because of the weather, sun, friends and non city living.
When we got here to purchase a house, there were slim pickings in the resale market, so we pretty quickly turned to building a house. We knew the area we wanted to live in, now we needed a builder. After looking at several, we chose Christopher Alan Homes. The ones we toured were just what we wanted. So we decided on the St. Augustine model, it was a little more house than we wanted, size wise, but the price and quality were in our sweet spot, as I said.
We have lived all over the country, TX, KS (twice), CO, MI, DE, SC, NJ, MA, NE, TN, and now FL. We have now built 8 houses over the last 38 years. All from a dirt lot to finished product, and found this build the most pleasant of all. We liked the limited options presented to us during the sales cycle. In the past we had extensive options that we could choose from. And as it were, most issues resulted in mistakes being made because of the many options. From wrong carpet, to a staircase problem, to a door in the wrong place, to incorrect lighting and plumbing fixtures, to paint and wallpaper. This resulted in arguments, and always having to prove that the error was not ours, and settling for less than originally agreed. So when we were presented to the very limited options by Christopher Alan Homes, we expected that there wouldn't be many or any mistakes. And we were very pleasantly surprised, we got EXACTLY what we bargained for, and for the price we were told when we signed the purchase agreement. This was definitely a first.
We were in the area for the entire construction process. We were amazed how fast things went given all the supply chain issues, experienced across the country. Christopher Alan Homes delivered within the window they committed at the price we agreed upon. Not only that, the construction process was done with precision and quality. As we said we were here for the construction and saw all the phases. The results speak for themselves. The workmanship, the attention to detail, the quality are all very good. And we have seen the gamut over the years.
We did realize when we signed the purchase agreement, that we would want to replace some lighting fixtures, add ceiling fans, electric hurricane shutters, blinds, and a pool, as well do a few other things to the house to make it exactly what we wanted, but we knew that going in. All but the pool and hurricane shutters are done and we've only been in the house around 10 weeks. The shutters will be here in a few weeks, and the pool is expected by November.
The Changes we made were to make it ours. The base house we got has proved to be a solid foundation. We love the area, SW Florida, the neighborhood, and the builder made it all possible.
We worked with several people at Christopher Alan Homes, all good. Garrett Jones is the standout from our interactions. He is the Construction Manager, and he has great customer skills. He listens, and is action oriented to solve problems expeditiously. We went through our walk-through and had only 4 items noted. All were completed between the walk-through and the closing, only 4 days later. It was Garrett Jones that made it happen, and I want to thank him for all his assistance.
After we moved in we have had a few warranty items that have cropped up, two that is, and they were minor. They too were addressed expeditiously.
The move in to retirement has be made less stressful by Garrett Jones and the team at Christopher Alan, because the house building process was made easy. We hopefully have several years to enjoy our new home, neighbors, weather, etc. It has been great so far, and having our great home as the foundation we expect it for a long time to come. Christopher Alan Homes played an important part, thanks to everyone there and especially Garrett Jones. -
My thanks to Christopher Alan Homes and their contractors for doing a great job on my warranty ticket. I'm very pleased with the outcome. Everything looks great! Special thanks to Crystal in the Tampa office for staying on top of this project. Thanks to everyone involved!

We LOVE our Christopher Alan Home! We get so many compliments from friends and neighbors on the curb appeal. The inside is perfect - you can tell the builder has attention to detail. Our experience from contract to close was wonderful. Sales team made the process smooth and simple. When we did our home walkthrough, the builder ensured everything was perfect, and the title team at closing was awesome! This builder cared about us, and they treated us like family. So happy with our purchase!

I bought a home from this builder 2 years ago, I decided to remove the carpet and install tile. The amount of dirt that was hidden underneath the carpet and into the boarders of the wall. They clearly don’t care, not enough to keep job sites clean. You should double think before purchasing
I have a videos showing a lot drywall screws tucked underneath drywall. I wasn’t aware my house produce drywall screw after living in it for 2 years. That’s new to me.
Thanks -
I recently purchased my home from CAH and I am thrilled with the experience. The entire team was exceptional, and our home inspector, Jairo, was particularly helpful—thorough, supportive, and great at explaining everything during orientation. I’m very grateful for CAH and the benefits they provide. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to buy a home.

From the very beginning, my experience with Christopher Allen Homes has been outstanding. A special thank you to Crystal, who has been my main point of contact since day one. She has been incredibly responsive, attentive, and always quick to address any concerns. Her professionalism and care truly made the entire process smooth and stress-free.
I couldn’t be more grateful for her support—she consistently went above and beyond. Because of her, I would not hesitate to recommend Christopher Allen Homes to family and friends. Thank you, Crystal, and the entire team, for such a positive experience! -
My husband and I worked with Allison Schlake (Christopher Alan) and Michelle D’Auria (Embrace) and we couldn’t have asked for a better pair. Allison walked us through the different steps in purchasing a home and Michelle help us tremendously with how to become pre-approved to then purchase our own home. Both amazing to work with. We were blessed in finding them. We want to give special thanks to Allison and Michelle but we want to also thank the entire Christopher Alan team for helping us get our new home!!
