An A/C and Air Handler was installed a few months ago. We have been in this house for 28 years and always experienced the inability of the A/C to be able to keep up with the heat of Summer. Since they installed the new unit the temperature has not fluctuated one degree through it's first Summer. They did excellent work at a very reasonable price. They worked quickly and efficiently while being respectful and courteous. I would recommend them and will use their services again when needed.

Derrick came out within 2 hours of my initial call, and he easily had an hour drive from where he was coming from. Not only did he quickly find the issue with just some corroded wires, but he explained several other potential issues and things to be watching out for. He even answered questions I had about newer systems, and now we're most likely going to be using them for a system replacement at another house we just bought. Great company and great people.

I can't express how thankful I am for the guys at Preferred Mechanical A/C. They not only came to our rescue on a rainy Sunday afternoon, but even with the bad news of me needing a new compressor, they were johnny on the spot the next day with the installation. I was so impressed, I have asked them to do the servicing of the A/C units at my clinic as well as my home. Thanks again for your promptness and concern for us during this very hot and I'm sure, very busy summer for you.

Sean came out the same afternoon after a service call in the next county. He was professional, honest, explained what he was doing and was able to get the unit running and the house cooled back down again. It's an older unit, but he didn't try to paint a doom and gloom story, he was straight up and honest and let me know I was facing with the unit, and what it looked like had been done to fix it before. I recently purchased the home and knew that replacing the A/C was part of that deal, but I'm grateful I have a little more time to prepare for it. Thank you Sean, and Dustin, for making sure I was taken care of well.

When my AC compressor broke i called several different companies to fix or replace it but no one could fit me in their schedule quickly, nor did they take the time to explain the cost and pros and cons of each unit the way Preferred did. Jaime came out the next day to give me an estimate and i felt very secure with the info he gave me and was able to make an educated decision for which unit to purchase. His team was able to get me on the schedule within 3days and completed the work in less than 2 days despite running into code issues that needed corrected from the previous homeowners. My unit is cooling wonderfully and is way more efficient than my old one allowing me to raise the set temperature to 80 degrees and still be comfortable, lowering my energy bill. The guys worked straight through and were very professional and honest. I recommend this company to anyone who needs AC service.

I have had the good fortune to have this company install the A/C system in my new home by the builder in Lakewood Ranch. The company also has a Sarasota location. Amanda is amazing in the front end of the business and the installer Ken is a great person to work with. They are family owned and operated and I feel so confident that they will service my A/C system properly for years to come. These folks installed my AC 4 years ago and have been maintaining it since then. They are great to proactively remind about preventative maintenance that helps extend the life of the unit and fast to respond when there is a concern.

The first repairman was excellent! I would give him 5 stars. He found a wire for the pump that was not even connected that 2 other repairmen before him didn't notice. The second one from this company didn't even take the front off. Told me my coils were dirty. The home inspector that came before the second repairman never said that but messed up the AC unit. I moved shortly after that. Let me say again, the first repairman from this company was excellent.

Jamie and Karen and Eric were all kind and efficient. I called on a Sunday morning with no a/c ! My neighbor recommended PreFerred Mechanical. Jamie and Eric called and kept me informed of the time Eric would be here. He showed up on time and friendly and got the unit running so I would have a/c until they came back to replace a part. Karen again kept me in the loop until the part was replaced just a couple days later. No air in June, in florida, is no picnic. The people at Preferred Mechanical were terrific.

Our AC went out during the day & we have 2 young children at home. We called around and they were the only one that offered to send their technician to our home on the same day.

Derek the technician showed up within 2 hours after the phone call. He was professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and taught me a lot about process of checking for issues and repair.

The price was more than fair. He did not just push us to buy a new unit, but went through the process to solve the problem. Much appreciated. Highly recommended and will use them again to replace our old unit in the near future. Thanks again for your service.

When I call for service I always get professional respectful curomer service from staff. Derrick service tech is very knowledgeable and knows what to do to maintain optimal performance of the ac/heat system. He has patience and doesn't mind questions asked. He does requests asked that pertain to the ac/heat unit even if its something small to him it's something big to me the customer. This makes me be a loyal customer because I'm treated with respect and royalty to me...

We bought our new system a little over a year ago. PM has taken very good care of us. All of the techs that have been to our house have been fantastic. 4 year update. I originally gave them a 4 star review because I truly felt as if it was a great small business with great employees. Fast forward to 3 months ago. Our air started to blow warm air. They sent out a technician which we had previous good experiences with. He said we had a leaking evaporator core. Under warranty sweet get the part let's do it. That day we were charged 300 for the top off and were quoted 808 for just the laber. Sure let's go. They are short handed. I get it every one is. The soonest we could get the appointment was the next month June... ok. The next tech came to the house no part in hand and said he didn't trust the first diagnosis after complaining he shouldn't be here alone it's a two person job. He also found a weak capacitor which he didn't replace. Later we find out he has been fired for being a hack. He did happen to get on on adding dye to the system. Sure dye doesn't lie kool. Well the next available dye test was another month out. Another month to loose expensive freon. OK fine. It's working and your still short on employees. Three weeks later it's stops suddenly. Hot florida July now. They send a third tech out. He found that weak capacitor was now out but now telling me my compressor is locked up. Really? He leaves telling me they will be back with both the evap and compressor once. The compressor comes in. All this time the said the evap is in stock. I called to get a status quote and for TWO day they keep saying we are waiting on the purchasing manager. What! Nobody had the storey straight now they say what evaporator. Today a week later two technicians show up with no parts. Remember I have no air in July. Find a leak by the evap which was a loose fitting from an installation error! The found the compressor was not seized up the third tech never rest the machine properly and we were sweat our asses of for nothing. Not to mention we were about to be charged over 2600 dollars labor for their miss diagnosis and warranty parts. Thanks time to find another company!

These guys to an outstanding job. Always fair and honest. I am particularly pleased with their customer service and attention to detail. I have experienced 2 AC issues. In both cases they responded same day. I highly recommend them.

The only reason they even got 1 star was because their tech showed up on short notice. The tech diagnosed the problem wrong, made only excuses, then tried to sell us a new air handler for 11K! This is the worst example of extortion. Trying to take advantage of the hottest time of the year. When I got home from work my house was 88 degrees. I turned on the system and It worked with no problem! It just must have been frozen up! So the tech. did NOTHING. Just tried to sell a new one. I don't like to give bad reviews to companies because of one bad tech. but the supervisor went along with it, adding insult to injury. I am an on the road service technician doing water leak detections. I've seen the good a/c guys and the bad. This is the worst case of laziness and deceit which would not have happened if I was present. But because my wife was the only one home he got away with it. I will let everyone I know not to use this company, and I'm in 80 homes a month.

Preferred Mechanical AC replaced old unit with a new inverter. Brian and Marco did a wonderful job on the installation. The job was completed in a thorough and careful manner with respect to our property. Brian and Marco were both very courteous answering all questions that we had.

This new unit is beyond what we expected. Lower humidity and cooler temps in the house now.

Great response and customer service. We had a broken AC unit and needed the evap coils replaced and the company and gentleman Gilbert were able to complete the job in the same day. Can't thank them enough. Great company.

These folks are always a joy to do great business with! They were right on time, courteous, They respond extremely fast In an emergency situation with a stellar response time. All of their service technicians were a delight and prove that they are the absolute best in this business and the level of service and knowledge they bring with each unit is second to none! and they do it all with a caring and positive attitude. Can't say enough good things about the folks at Preferred Mechanical. Attentive, responsive, courteous, prompt, quality work ethics, patient, etc, etc. Ken better not leave any time soon - he's the best. Eric cares about his employees and the business he manages. The staff answering calls communicate very well with the customer as well as with their team at Preferred. Plan to do business with them for a long time.

Though not the origional installer, they came out the next day and got the system running again. The company we had used to do a checkup wouldn't budge off their previous set appointment in 4 days. They ordered warranty parts and replaced the same week. Courteous and straight talking, none of the normal sales gimmicks. I used them the previous week for another system on a rental and they did a great job there too.

I would like to share my experience today with Eric the service technician. He was the second technician that came out to service our AC system. He didn’t know it at the time that we had another company come out last week. We needed a second opinion and have our system serviced. Not only was Eric down right honest he held nothing back. While the other company told us we had a leak in our system and needed a whole new system, Eric told me that not only did we not have a leak we didn’t need Freon. We were fortunate enough to have this company referred to us by my daughter as they have used them for years. I just wished I had asked her first who she used. I would recommend not only this company but would like to say again thanks to Eric for being such an honest person!!!
