that place sucks! they are very disrespectful specially the son of the owner. they treat you like garbage and have high prices I will never come back and I strongly recommended that you don't either. horrible overall!!!

They scammed me they sold me a defective item and would not refund me. DONT COME HERE THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY

I went there for some fuse wire, the Sales Prevention Officer, grunted, " what's it for ?" a fuse I replied,
he retorted, " it's for a boat isn't it ?" ( I was in my crew gear ) I confirmed that it was......" we dont sell marine fuse wire " .... not a problem, I insited, just give me what you have.
" No can't sell you that " and walked off.
I waited five minutes and then somebody told me to leave.
What a beautiful shopping experience.......NOT !!!!!

Same reason as everyone else here.. they are complete a-holes...all of them. I've lived here 20 years and it never fails when I give them a chance - they just don't care.

They'll rip you off hard if you don't know what you're doing. They prefer to only sell supplies to plumbers and electricians. Anyone else they will take advantage of as much as they can. I talked the sales clerk down from $150 to $75. That's standard business for this company.

Bahahaha this place is a joke. They really are a miami store. Rude and really don't care. I come in with a query and the ask me, and i quote, "why does the owner of the apartment have the sockets like that?" Lol um i thought you were professionals but CLEARLY i came to the wrong place. I mean they cut me short and started talking to another person who had just walked up. I would have hated to have given birth to ppl like that and had willingly opened my legs in order for them to exist on this planet. I'd have shut my legs mid- birth, but that's just me😘

ABSOLUTE THE WORSE - Avoid at all cost! Rude, arrogant, argumentative....awful attitude - it is not customer service but customer aggravation. i went across the street to Ace Hardware and got help and wonderful service.

I own my property and I am the President of my Condo Board Association.

A few weeks ago (in Aug) the handyman for my building had a health issue and is no longer able to work. I’ve been looking and interviewing handymen but in the meantime, I tried to finish a few simple tasks myself. One of them was to purchase 2 sewage covers for the garage.

I took pictures and measurements of the part I needed and went to American Plumbing store located on 17th and Alton Rd.

When I arrived, there were 5 customers (all male) and I stood aside waiting for my turn.
A few minutes later, one of the attendants ask who was next. I looked at the 5 customers as there were already looking at me and since nobody said anything, I responded “I guess it’s me” and they nodded as yes.

As I started to explain what I needed and showing the pictures, another attendant came to look at them. The 2nd attendant told me he needed to know the brand. I said I had no idea. He complimented my pictures and measurement and told the 1st attendant to go to the back and bring what they had to compare with the pictures.

At this time, an older man with an authority figure came into the conversation and told the attendants “forget about her, go take care of somebody else”. Both attendants “disappeared” pretty fast, so I assumed he was either the manager or the owner. (please notice that everybody else in the store were already been taking care of).

As I am in chock I just responded “excuse me?” and he said “we don’t have what you need. Leave my store”. I said “the attendant told the other one to bring me what you have”. He responded “you don’t belong in my store. Leave!”. I just stand there, memorized and almost dizzy. At this point he yells “leave my store and don’t ever come back!” pointing to the door.

I ran out shaking.

Also I would like to add that I found a handyman (in Sept) and a few days ago he purchased the sewage covers from that same store...

American always has amazing prices and service...I've dealt with Angel over the years and he is a true angel. Don't know what I would do without him.

No words for these arrogant, miserable and dumb bunch off losers. Never heard of customer service , nor do they know anything about what they are doing . Don't go there .... no wonder those big markets like Homedepot are gaining more power, because of those passionless and rude guys that work there. I hope somebody is gonna buy them out and put a nice Nothing in there because that is more then what it is right now .

Hit then miss. Every other time I visit this store I get really good service and some helpful and some knowledgeable. Never mind expecting what you need. Product, helpful and knowledgeable service... It's not going to happen. I go every time with the understanding that this Store is almost invaluable in not leaving the beach.

Crooks. They include on their "pick ticket" that's attached to your credit card slip that there's a 25% re-stocking fee for any returns. I returned an un-opened bubble wrapped item 45 minutes after buying and they then pointed out the fee.

Do not support this policy! Do not shop here. Sleazy people, ancient dumpy facility, poor customer service.

Negative 5 stars if I can , these ppl charge 10 times what the things are worth , I bought LV1 for 5 dollars each when they cost 1 dollar on Amazon . I was expecting to pay 3 dollars max

No concept of customer service. Must be a miserable work environment considering everyone there seems to always have a stick stuck in their pants. Short rude replies. You’d think they would care to keep customers that USED to bring them considerable amounts of business. That stopped today. Never again. I guess they feel they will be fine with all the hvac techs business that they don’t need you. Not a very ambitious owner. I’ll drive to West palm Beach before I ever step in this place again

This place is very well stocked, and I'm sure it could have everything anyone needs for plumbing repairs or installations. The major problem is that the customer service is terrible. I was attended to by an older gentleman with white hair, and when I tried to explain what I needed, he mocked me with his coworkers and asked me to bring him a part to assist me properly. I went back to the installation site and searched for the part. When I returned, this American Plumber employee refused to assist me. Later, another person attended to me who also refused to even make an effort to understand what I needed or the plumbing part I was missing. It's a business not worth visiting due to its lack of professionalism and poor customer service.

They really do not want to sell. They have the typical employee that believes he knows everything and is unwilling to help, just because he doesn't understand there is new technology and new ways of doing things. They will keep loosing clients and loosing potential sales, ended up going to ace hardware, much more helpful.

Angel was awesome. He found the cartridge that fit my faucet in 2 minutes!

After searching every single store on Miami Beach, I walked in to this shop to buy a space heater And Angel was so helpful and now I’m warm🥰🥰
