HVAC reviews in Miami, Florida

(7/12/24) I was very pleased with the service that was provided to me today. My service provider, Mir, did a great job and was very knowledgeable. Keep up the great work, and I will definitely be a repeat customer.
UPDATE!!! 7/24/24
There was a piece left off of my unit when the technicians came back to replace a part my unit needed after having the coils and blower cleaned.
I was pretty upset with this situation, especially when the manager told me the piece I was talking about should have been removed at install. I knew this was not the case.
Thankfully, they sent a tech back out here today to pit the part back in. Yasser, is who they sent out today.
Thanks for moving on this quickly! I greatly appreciate it! -
Albert was a great HVAC Technician. He diagnosed the issues quickly and finished the repair in less than an hour. He was knowledgeable and honest about the service required. He changed out the capacitor and the flush switch and gave the air handler an anti-bacterial treatment. He left the area very clean, flushed my drain pipe, and my A/C is no longer leaking. Very grateful for a solid, fast service!

Always a great experience with this company. Repeat customer here, I've had multiple jobs done on two properties with A-Max Air. I've been lucky enough to have met the owner, and all of his staff have always maintained his level of commitment to quality work. Thank you to Erik for coming by today.

Yoel was nice but I let him hear the recording on the noise the AC was making on and off. I had to encourage him to come upstairs to see the AC as he was ready to leave. Did not seem interested in looking at the unit. I realize that if the AC is not making the noise at the time of his visit it makes it harder but I would ask that someone with MORE experience could be sent. Thank you

We have been using A-Max for nearly ten years and throughout that time their service has remained impeccable. Today, Christopher came by to clean our AC for the new year. He was extremely thorough, knowledgeable, and hilarious. I would highly recommend them the next time you need to repair or even maintain your AC.

Great service, will call again! Thank you!

They were able to offer same day service and our technician was right on time. Even though it was not apparent why our ac failed, he was able to fix it. He even called a fellow technician to see if he had covered all the bases in trying to figure out how we could avoid the issue in the future, which I appreciated as it showed thoughtfulness and professionalism. Bonus points for him being pleasant with a great sense of humor!

Leonel, a life safer. Smart, thorough took his time, and diagnosed the issues and fixed it. I’ve had other companies take a look and they all tried to take advantage. I highly recommend A Max and especially Leonel. Thank you so much!!!!!!

One of the worst companies out ! The new management is extremely disappointing. Very unprofessional ! Tried to charge me 3 times the normal price of the part that I needed. The technician said his new manager/owner is trying to make the most money out of every service they offer. Also mentioned that they are extremely aggressive with their employees and extremely disrespectful. New owners are some slick talkers/ worse than a used car salesmen . Have no Idea how to actually help a client, but only how to rob you. Previous owner Dustin was the opposite of everything they are . Sad to see he sold the company to such bad people. Beware of the manager Eugene , that never reaches out !!! If I could I would leave a negative rating.!

I feel violated after my interaction with A-max AC. My elderly neighbor (81 yrs old with severe dementia) had her AC break yesterday (Saturday) evening. We found A-max recommended in a community group on FB & called them. They came out for an assessment/visit fee of $265. A bit steep, but it was a Saturday evening. They then proceeded to say the AC needed 10 lbs of refrigerant at $250/lb. for a total quote of an additional $2500, total bill of $2765. We told the guy no way & sent him on his way. We borrowed a portable AC from a friend for the night & had a family recommended AC guy come out this morning (Sunday). The repairman this morning came out, pumped 8.5 lbs of refrigerant (fixing the issue), & charged a total of $250. In summary, A-Max AC are a bunch of thieves who tried to rob $2500 from my neighbor.

Communicative and super professional. My appointment time was respected.
They came to my house, reviewed everything for my dryer, worked on it, showed me the mess they had to clean from the duct, and swept after the finished. What else can you ask for?? 🤣 -
My experience with A-MAX Air Conditioning was deeply unsatisfactory. The communication was poor, with frequent delays and unhelpful responses. The service itself was unreliable. Additionally, the cost of the repairs was unreasonably high, and the company showed no accountability when I reached out with concerns.
In summary, A-MAX Air Conditioning failed to meet even basic expectations for customer service. I strongly advise seeking alternative companies that are more reliable and customer-focused to avoid similar frustrations. -
I have been using this company since the original Angies list was around. I believe it has since changed ownership and there are certainly some hiccups that need to be resolved with scheduling. The work performed by the technician still good and trustworthy as far as I can see but prices have sky rocketed (like everything else of course) I will get additional estimates in the future for a better price. I have used for coil cleaning and dryer vent cleaning and the job has been professional. Due to pricing Dryer cleaning has already been outsourced to another quality vendor due to pricing.

Leonel did not give up until he got to the root of the problem. Thank you for his tenacity.

After 15 years with Amax, we will be finding a new AC company. Ever since they were under new ownership a few years ago, the quality has declined to the point we can no longer depend on them in an honest, responsive and fair manner. 7 years ago we were so impressed that we purchased a top of the line unit to replace our aging unit. That unit was fine for a year, but started to experience a lot of problems. Leaks, electrical wiring, faulty components etc. But Amax stood by their work and fixed everything without batting an eye. Quickly, professionally and with a smile. Reminders for regular maintenance and reasonable costs for things not covered by warranty. I could trust them.
Then the new owners showed up and the techs we were working with were constantly trying to upsell and charging for every piece of work. “We don’t honor the work done before we took over.” Every routine maintenance visit was now a big bill. $1200 here, $800 there, $1000 for this or that. Wires chaffing due to wrong installation? Not their problem now. Fan replaced two years ago craps out? Nope. Among other things.
The office staff has also been a source of increasing frustration. I get put on hold and have to call back. Best I can describe my last call with them was the most “audible” eye roll of a response to a simple call to check when the tech would arrive (after them rescheduling twice).
Straw that broke the camels back was after ALL of this work, we called to report decreased performance and cooling. Tech came and said we needed coil and blower cleaning. Everything else was fine with the unit. Great! That’s it? Sure. Another $1250 for that. Refrigerant good? Compressor? All good.
Never really cooled well again. Call for more service. After 2 failed attempts to be on time for the service call, the tech comes again. Says the coil is cracked and we need a new unit. Leaking refrigerant. Says all this like we will just sign on the dotted line and drop another $5-7K.
Could the coil cleaning have had anything to do with it? I’m suspicious.
Nope. Done. The attitude was poor. No “Im sorry” “man this sucks” or anything resembling empathy for the situation. No “hey you have been loyal customers and we sold you a dud, lemme talk to the boss and see what we can do” Not asking for anything free, but stand by the work and loyalty to work out something.
I’m going to call another company for a reassessment on this unit and take my business elsewhere. Plenty of AC companies out there. Should have seen the writing on the wall and bailed long ago.
UPDATE 9/10: we had another company, Weathermakers, come out. They identified at leaking thermal expansion valve and a small leak from a part rubbing. No coil damage. No whole new unit needed. So basically AMax all full of BS. Fixed and blowing cold again with a warranty on their work. -
We've used A-Max for years and are very happy to see they're still giving great service. We noticed a problem late in the afternoon, they had a tech over in an hour. Ronny the tech was professional, thorough and fixed our problem. He was kind and responsible enough to let us know that if we see an issue in the future, to let the company know so he can come over if necessary. Thank you A-Max.

Very professional from start to finish. They came to my house to look at my AC unit. We determined it was time for a new one. They educated me the difference between variable and non variable AC units. They gave me 3 different brand quotes to choose from. The install was done very professional and done correctly. After the install was done, they cleaned up. Everything is back to normal. Will recommend.

Wow, Unfortunately, the trained technician was trained to come and find extra work & more revenue for the company. He was more of a pushy salesman selling a UV light then performing what we hired them for, a routine check up. He never told us the results of his inspection & findings. He failed to listen to us, the customer that wanted just the routine service. A-Max was a great company, but sadly since the founder retired & sold it, it's the last time we will use them. Now on the hunt for a new AC company.

I had the pleasure of working with Christopher from A-Max Air Conditioning during a recent issue with my air conditioning system, and I must say, the experience was truly exceptional. From start to finish, Christopher exhibited the utmost professionalism, expertise, and courtesy.
First and foremost, Christopher's punctuality was commendable. He arrived exactly on time, ready to tackle the problem at hand. His promptness immediately set a positive tone for the entire service call.
Upon his arrival, Christopher wasted no time in diagnosing the issue with my AC unit. His depth of knowledge and experience were evident as he efficiently identified the problem and swiftly formulated a solution.
What truly stood out to me was Christopher's commitment to ensuring that the repair was not only effective but also long-lasting. He took the time to thoroughly explain the issue to me in layman's terms, patiently answering all of my questions and addressing any concerns I had. His clear communication and transparency instilled confidence in the work being done.
Throughout our interaction, Christopher maintained a friendly and professional demeanor, making the entire experience pleasant and stress-free. His attention to detail and dedication to customer satisfaction were truly impressive.
Thanks to Christopher's expertise and exemplary service, my air conditioning problem was resolved quickly and effectively. I would highly recommend Christopher from A-Max Air Conditioning to anyone in need of HVAC services. His professionalism, punctuality, and proficiency make him a standout technician in his field. -
The technician was an hour and a half late. He was nice but didnt even know how to access where the filter goes on the air conditioner. Additionally, the company ordered the wrong size filter, even though another tech was here and took down all the numbers to order the right one. Since the original owner sold it to these people, it seems they consistently hire people who don't know what they are doing. Some of the techs are nice and one i met is pure nasty. I don't recommend using this company ever!!!

No attention to detail. Left open holes to inside roof. Left wire hanging down from air handler to outside unit.
