Best A/C company hands down in the Jacksonville area. If you don't use them you are wasting your money on all these "local" companies that rip you off. I guarantee you will not be disappointed with them. I just wish I would have found them sooner but I will not use another A/C company ever again. More than fair pricing and will not let you down.

RUN, DON'T WALK!!!!! I purchased an AC unit from Mr. Merritt and had a 10 yr. warranty on the unit. I had a part go out and was told I did not complete the warranty card. I [paid both labor and part to get the AC going. The company installed a cheaper universal part rather than a Carrier Part. Later I find out that I was under warranty when I called Carrier and that my Carrier part should have been covered. I called Mr. Merritt's office and got the run around for 6 weeks and promises that they were ordering the part. They finally scheduled an appointment, for which I waited around all day, and they were a no-show. Run as far as you can from this company!! Despite the fact that Mr. Merritt says we have not reached out to him in his response to our review, we have called more than a dozen times and left messages with Summer, the Office Manager. Summer asked us to remove the bad review BEFORE they would fix the issue. When we informed her that we would only modify our review IF the problem was corrected, they went dark, with no response to any call or message since. While his office has been stalling, we have been attempting to identify other customers whose warranties have been compromised so that we may move forward together.

Called them on a Sunday morning after our AC went out on a Saturday night. They picked up on the first ring and were out to fix the issue within 2 hours!! Quick, easy, reliable and efficient service!! Thank you to Chris, he was great!

My husband is in the military and currently deployed, our AC starting acting up so I called Mike Merritts and someone came out immediately. They got me up and running again until someone could come fix the issue, when they came turned out we needed the entire unit replaced. They were so easy to work with, so helpful, quick, pricing was way better than anywhere else, couldn’t ask for better service. The techs and office staff were constantly in communication with me and felt like friends by the end of it all. They ended up coming out 3 times for everything and we were only charged for one visit and the unit replacement. They really are a honest and genuine company looking out for their customers and not trying to squeeze every dollar out of a job they can. They easily could’ve charged me so much more. Will be calling them every time and referring to everyone I know. You will not be disappointed!

He installs a quality product - Carrier - at an unbeatable price with the highest standard in workmanship and service! He is an honest and dependable man and demands it from all his employees too. My 25 year old air handler fan came apart and was stuck on the shaft. Service tech Danny knew what to do, and had my HVAC back on quickly. Danny also checked the outside unit at no charge. Thank you to Mike Merritt HVAC and Danny for the prompt response and and excellent service!

Mike Merritt and his great crew have been servicing our HVAC for 15 years. Never did they try to push a new system or unnecessary repairs. Recently our builders grade system had a major part failure and the repair just didn’t make sense. Mike provided the option of repairing or replacing, we opted to replace and we are so happy with the new Carrier system. When researching I came across the following. The quality of the installation is more important than the brand you choose, although IMO Carrier is superior. His crew is very experienced, professional and friendly, many with decade plus with Mike, This speaks volumes that he takes care of his workers and they love working for him. My install was completed flawlessly in about 3 hours. Don’t call anyone else but Mike Merritts you will not regret it.

When our AC stopped working on a Sunday, we actually contacted another company first. That company ended up being unable to come out in a timely manner and didn't call us as promised. We decided to try other options, and within an hour of calling, Mike Merritt's was able to come fix our unit. Anna was very pleasant and helpful on the phone, and Butch was courteous and informative while fixing our system. The price quoted on the phone was exactly what we were charged (hourly rate + part). We are so glad to have our AC repaired!

We have used Mike Merritt Heating & Air for all of our AC needs. When we first contacted them, the person who answered was very friendly and helpful. She understood what we were describing and was able send a tech out that afternoon. When the Tech arrived he was able to identify the problem right away. He suggested we change our handler and did not try to up-sell us anything extra that we did not need. I could tell the Mike Merritt team cared about our needs. Over the years we have moved several times and in two of those moves, we have called upon Mike Merritt Heating & Air to replace both AC units. The service and quality was excellent. Day or night, if we ever had a problem with our AC, we could contact them and they would have a friendly tech over to our home within a few hours of our call. The best part, no additional charge for after hours, and a guarantee on all of our parts/service.

Mike Is a great guy!!! and Merritt Heating & Air, upstanding business. Bought this condo in May of 2022. The previous owner left the paper work for the HVAC system installed April of 2020 by Mike Merritt Heating & Air. Had a problem on 8/4/22 Dual Capacitor failed and Mike came out and replaced it and only charged me for the labor. Great deal and very considerate! Now on 8/30/23 noticed the outside unit is running but inside is not and not cooling. Called Mike and he advised to turn off immediately. Take a pic of serial number to text to him and he could be here in the morning to take care of it. Thank you Mike and God Bless you as we know this Hurricane Idalia is interfering with a great deal of business and operations. Grateful!

Mr. Mike Merritt fixed my two AC units today. He did the diagnoses within 1 minute, fixed the 2 problems in approx 8 minutes, and he was gone from my house in less than 15 minutes!! This guy is for real. Extremely professional and accommodating. I have dealt with close to 5 AC companies in Jacksonville, and Mike is by far the best and the most sincere!! He enumerated to me ways that I can save… which means less money for his company. I was expecting for salestalk about my unit being so old, bad and beaten, so therefore I have to get a new unit…stuff like that! But nothing like that happened. Be prepared to WAIT though coz this company is flooded with calls and customers. But my wait was 100% worth it.

Mike showed up on time. Was very responsive and very knowledgeable. Great customer service. Mike diagnose the problem and fixed it very quickly and what he charged was very reasonable, actually much lower than I thought it would be. I highly recommend Mike Merritt, heating and air to anybody who has an air-conditioning or heater issue.

I had been looking around for a good HVAC company to do some annual maintenance at my home. I saw the great reviews here and figured it was a good option. They were very nice and professional on the phone and was able to get on the schedule. Unfortunately, my schedule date came and went without someone coming by or giving me a call to inform. I figured it could be a mistake and tried again. They were very apologetic and promised they'd put it on their personal watch list to make sure it happens this time around. The gentleman came at the appt time and was very pleasant to deal with. I had some follow up questions about my split unit and he put my mind at ease fairly quickly. No attempt to upsell me on my first appointment and was in and out within an hour. I'm happy to update the review upon future scheduling successes. Otherwise, I'd recommend them at this point.

My AC unit stopped working Sunday and I waited to call around for availability Monday morning since I didn't want to pay emergency rates. I called Merritt at 8am and they were at my house by 9:15am same day. Chris was my technician. He diagnosed the problem in 5 minutes and had it fixed by 10:30am. Chris was very professional, kept a clean work area in my house, and was gentle when taking apart and putting my AC unit back together. Merritt gained a repeat customer! Great service. AC stopped working on Saturday. Part needed was not available until Monday. By noon Monday, AC had been repaired. Experienced blocked drainage tube, Mike came by that afternoon remedy the issue with no additional charge.

I will definitely be using Mike Merritt for future AC service.

Danny came out to inspect our AC/heat pump and was not only diligent, but very detailed in his service and explained everything he was doing. We were referred to Mike Merritt through our best friends who have used him for years, and I must say they have been exceptionally professional, responsive, and fully transparent in their approach to properly servicing our A/C needs. I would absolutely recommend their company.

It was time to replace the HVAC system and as usual Merritt Heating and Plumbing came through with excellent service and product! They arrived exactly when they said, replaced the entire system within a half day and left everything in immaculate condition.

We ordered our Carrier HVAC from his company and in 3 days they did the install (our old unit was still working). His install techs were great and the same as Mike Merritt - friendly, professional, very knowledgeable and were happy to answer any questions. We just had our old hvac unit replaced. It was working fine but we figured it was time to replace it. We got several estimates before Mike came out. We had a 25 yr old Lennox unit and Mike was the only one to inform me that the older 4 ton units had a bigger BTU capacity than the newer units due to the change in the Freon. He suggested we go with a 5 ton unit. His quote on the 5 ton unit was less than any of the other 4 ton quotes. They installed it and it is working great. BTW we replaced it with a Lennox unit - why would we change?
