HVAC reviews in Pompano Beach, Florida

Our Air Conditioning ( A/C) system was short cycling two nights ago. We have a maintenance plan with Engineered Air ( it is well worth the money). I place a telephone call to Engineered Air the next morning and spoke with Lydia and explained the problem with the A/C. She informed me HVAC Technician Nick would be at our house before 12:00 PM. She said she would call when Nick was 30 minutes from our house.
Nick arrived at approximately 10:45 AM and asked me to explain what problems we experienced with the A/C. After I explained to him the problems with the A/C, he immediately went to the units inside and outside to diagnose the problem. I asked him questions, he was patient and answered all of my questions. He quickly identified the problem and explained to me what needed to be done to have our A/C working properly.
Nick went beyond just fixing the problem with our A/C unit, he actually completed a full maintenance on our A/C which we normally have to schedule in advance. Nick is very professional, efficient, knowledgeable, personable and exhibited the highest levels of customer service. He informed me when our next maintenance needed to be scheduled. I thanked Nick and told him I would like him to be our permanent technician to service our A/C.
I telephoned the office and spoke with Lydia and informed her of how impressed I was with Nick. I asked her how could relay to his manager or the owner how impressed I was with his skills and customer service. I also wanted to express to his manager that I would like Nick to be our permanent technician. Lydia was very informative in suggesting I write a review and that his manager as well as the owner (s) would see the comments. The customer service Nick and Lydia have both provided is a reflection of the standards and expectations of the management and owner(s) of Engineered Air. -
Had great experiences with Frank however I have a maintenance contract with this company all prepaid and they won’t answer calls. You call their number and it goes straight to voicemail and says the mailbox is full. This is after I had already made an appointment that no one showed up for. What is going on?

After some ac problems in the last few months, we really appreciated Mike’s service. He helped address all concerns and issues and provided us with tips to make sure we were doing our part in maintaining our unit. I hope the company continues to send him out to us. Thank you for making sure my family was safe!
Update: Ran into some AC issues 6 months after repairs. If it wasn’t for our experience with Mike, the review would be much lower. Office sent out a tech 3 times over the course of 2 weeks with no resolution. The last time a tech came out, I was told my ducts need replaced due to a leak. After a second opinion from a trusted technician, there were no leaks or issues with the ducts/insulation. After being charged without resolution, it’s very frustrating. I would expect more out of a company where I hold 2 service contracts and been a customer for nearly a decade. -
Paid for a maintenance agreement. They were a no-show on the appointment date. No phone call or other prior warning. Website is still up but no one answers the phone or responds to web inquiries. I had to find another company. They owe me $125.00 for the second maintenance visit.

I have been using them for years. They did an install of Lennox condenser unit and "pancake" air handler in my condo. There were several issues with initial unit until it was found through testing (all done without charge by EA) that condenser was defective. They replaced condenser without charge. Everything has been great. I also have an annual service contract with them to maintain system. They has always been responsive and service oriented. Marco is a great technician and always demonstrates both competency and cooperative intent in resolving any issues that I have had.
Bottom line is this: true test of company is when issues arise. I had issues (that were not their fault). They should commitment to me as a customer and patience and diligence in resolving a complex case. Would recommend.
UPDATE 05/30/25: I had a SCHEDULED maintenance call yesterday and nobody showed or called. Tried calling but call goes right to a message that voicemail box is full. Emailed but no response. They are either going out of business or shutting off all residential customers (they could have at least called me telling me they will no show). Though I think you may no longer have an option to do business with them anymore, if you do, DON'T. -
Normally we have great interactions with this company. However, this last service call was not the case. Be known that there's a $149 service charge just to get a tech to your home. Additional to that they don't uphold what their employees tell you.
The guy that came to our home was great and said he would need to come back to find a leak and that the company would call to schedule. That was Friday. Come Monday there was no contact He also said that there would be no charge for the leak detection only for labor since we were still under the manufacturer warranty.
We called to schedule and had to be sent to a manger for some reason. When we explained the situation she said the technician is wrong and it's going to be (approximately) $300 to do the leak detection plus labor. There was no concern to uphold what their employee had told us in our home or find a common ground where both parties could benefit.
Guess I'll have to educate myself on HVAC maintenance. But it would have been nice if she had been less defensive and more accommodating.
It's in poor taste to have an employee say they will do something and a supposed manger (she claimed there was no one higher than her and she was quite off putting despite the misunderstanding) contradict the arrangements the employee made.
I understand businesses have rules and the market is tough but there's a way to do right by the customer and still maintain your position. She didn't care to listen it was all about dollars and cents to her and it seems they don't really care much about their customers which is a shame considering the high regard we held the company in for their impeccable service to us in the past.
I hope you have a better experience than we did. -
The owner responded to my review expressing sincere apologies and asking me to call them directly. When possible I want to be able to provide feedback to get better customer service. However, I fear the owners response was just for “show”. First - they have my full name and phone number they could have reached out to me. 2. I did call to speak to owner only to be told if they wanted to speak to me then they would reach out to me. So my ZERO star rating stands for the reasons listed below.
If I could leave 0 stars I would. I have used Engineered air for many years and have a service contract with them and had no problem. However, 3 weeks ago they came to my house because I had a freon leak. They diagnosed it and called me the next morning with a price to fix and said the condenser coil was still under warranty by carrier and the part was in stock and they would have in 24/48 hours. After a week and no follow up I started calling daily trying to get an update only to be told the parts guy didn’t have an update from carrier. I then spoke to customer service supervisor who said she would follow up. No one ever called me back so I had to call daily to see if any progress was made. I finally reached out to carrier and they requested the purchase order the company so they could track the part. Carrier emailed them and I called and requested it. But still could not get any answer. Finally after 16 days of no air they said they did not have a po number. When I asked how they ordered the part on Oct 14 with out a PO number or part number they said they needed to talk to parts manager again. They never called back again so I had to call again only to be told they could not order the part. I then hired another company and they came out and had part within 24 hours and fixed my unit. Because the part was under warranty Carrier had to confirm that the part was not previously ordered by another vendor for our unit before they released the part. It had not been. Engineered Air lied about ordering the part and for 3 weeks led me to believe they were trying to get it and then said they could not get the part. I made numerous calls to management only to leave messages on voice mail and no one returned my call. I would never use them or recommend to anyone else -
I've used them for over 10 years with great success but I think they went out of business. No one answers the phone, they stood us up for our regular maintenance appointment and when I stopped by their Pompano location all the work vans appeared to not have been driven in a while. I want to get a partial refund for the maintenance contact....

Back in September I had EA come and service my AC. Did a fine job. As a result, I bought a package of 2 services which one was used for that Sept. visit. I have been trying to call and email EA for a week to schedule another service with no reply. A neighbor said she thinks they went out of business. If that is the case, or they just don't want my business, then I would like a refund of my remaining service contract. Please contact me to issue the refund.

**** Went out of Business and kept my $3000.00 deposit**** I contacted about 3 and half weeks ago Engineered Air which is company that installed my central air during new construction. Office forward a number to me of a employee name Dennis Duff. We spoke about my problems and I wanted a new central air top to bottom installed. He sent over agreement with total price and amount of deposit needed to start the install. I paid $3,000.00 to office staff and I thought I was ready to go. When I text Mr. Duff about the date can we do, I received a text a day later that he just found out that EA his company has gone out of business. If the financials were that bad why take large deposits so close to going out of business. I also see on Engineered web sit Mr. Duff is owner but he claims he knew nothing of the going out of business. I see on Yelp many people are saying same thing. Taking service contract money all the way up to going out of business now they are out. I find there business practices very shady. I heard nothing from the other owners about my deposit being return. Time to take next lawfull course of action.

I don't know what is going on over at Engineered Air!?
I made an appointment a month ago for my regular bi-yearly maintenance visit. My appointment, scheduled for earlier this week, came and went and I didn't hear a thing from Engineered Air.
Furthermore, I tried calling them to get an explanation but the calls only eventually go through to voicemail.
At this point, I've called numerous times, left multiple messages and even tried their after hours emergency line - all of them go to voicemail. None of my calls have been answered or returned.
How am I supposed to get ahold of them if they won't answer or return any calls? Are they closed for the upcoming holiday? Have they gone out of business? Were they abducted by aliens? Who knows!? 🤪
At this point I'm nearly certain that what they have done is sold me a maintenence plan that I can never use. It's absolutely frustrating. -
I have a maintenance contract with this company. I’ve had no problem until recently. No one from any department answers the phone over a consistent amount of days, instead you get a recording, you leave your message and no one calls you back. I was scheduled for an appointment today for two weeks and was told that someone would call me the very early morning of the day to let me know when they would arrive. It is 12:25 and no call or anyone arriving yet. I would not use this company. Look for another. It appears they must have a staffing problem. I have been out of air conditioning for one week and they know it.

I’m extremely disappointed with the way things were handled today. Given the weather and circumstances, I understand there may have been challenges, but the lack of timely communication was completely unacceptable.
Had I been informed earlier, I could have made alternative arrangements — but being notified at the last minute left me stranded and frustrated. This experience has seriously impacted my trust in your service, and I’ve learned my lesson the hard way.
I feel let down and, frankly, that customer concerns are not valued. I won’t be using your services again and will be sure to share this experience with others! -
I have a maintenance contract with this company, and my next appointment is scheduled soon. I haven’t had any issues with them until recently. Over the past few days, no one from any department has answered the phone—calls go straight to a recorded message, and when you leave a voicemail, no one returns the call.
I was able to reach one of their technicians through a personal number I had, and he informed me that the company is out of business.
Who can we contact to get official confirmation on the company’s status? If they’ve stopped operating, were their current clients transferred to another company? It’s concerning that no communication has been sent to customers—especially those with upcoming scheduled appointments. And that’s not even addressing the issue of refunds for services that now appear unlikely to be fulfilled.
UPDATE:
After about 24 hours owner replied on my review and told the company is not out of business. Told to contact them using our alternate channels for immediate assistance. Well the only alternative channel I have found is Facebook page and email. Hope somebody will answer me there, as nobody replied to my comment on their Facebook page yet. I get security breaches may happen or other issues, so will be waiting and hoping this company will recover.
Owner, if you see my update, please provide exact alternative channel I and others who will see this comment here can use to contact you. Alternative phone number, spare email, etc. So far Google Maps reviews is the only place where I got some kind of a connection with the company. thanks.
UPDATE #2. June 11th, 2025. The maintenance service of my AC that was scheduled on June 10th was not conducted. They don't pick up the phone. I called 3 numbers I had, 1 of which is the one shown on their website. I called several times, several days in a row. I commented company's post on Facebook (they did not answer), but other Facebook users commented that company is out of business.
Other FB users also commented that company went out of business and they confirmed that with the builder of their houses, Pulte Homes. Engineered Air was Pulte's subcontractor.
UPDAT #3, June 17th, 2025. The company continues to not answer the phone number listed on their website, and I have not received any response through their Facebook page or Facebook Messenger. We disputed the charge for the 2025 annual AC maintenance plan (which included two visits) with our credit card issuer and received a refund. I also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. -
I’m writing this because of the completely unprofessional service I got from Engineered Air. They installed my AC in 2019. By 2024, it stopped cooling—still under the 5-year warranty. I called them, they sent a tech who added freon and admitted there was a leak, but said it was “too small to find,” so they didn’t fix it.
Fast forward to March 2025, and the AC is leaking again—this time both freon and water. This is after regular maintenance. I called, frustrated, because this should’ve been fixed the first time. Their response? They told me to find someone else. No accountability. No help.
Engineered Air LLC is unprofessional and doesn’t stand behind their work. They’re more interested in draining your wallet than fixing the actual problem. Avoid them. They are the worst.
I already gave your company a chance, and I’m actually relieved you made it clear you won’t be working on the AC you installed. In early 2024, your technician replaced the defective fan and cleaned the evaporator coil—but in doing so, damaged it. That’s what caused the refrigerant leak in the first place. Rather than taking responsibility, you came back later that same year, charged me for the issue you created, and then had the nerve to try and charge me a third time.
I'm glad I got upset—because if I hadn’t, I might not have realized that your priority is profit, not service. Thank you for telling me to find someone else. I now know to stay far away from Engineered Air, and I hope others do too. -
I had an amazing experience with Engineered Air! From start to finish, their service was professional, fast, and reliable. I want to give a special shoutout to Mike from Boston (New England)—his knowledge, honesty, and dedication stood out right away. He took the time to explain everything about my AC issue and made sure the job was done perfectly. It’s hard to find trustworthy people these days, but Mike truly goes above and beyond. Highly recommend this company to anyone needing AC service—you won’t be disappointed!

One star from me. These guys don’t keep any parts in stock. Since my issues have been electrical, they’re only replacing things in phases. This has caused my family and I to live in a hot house for way too long. There are 330 houses in my neighborhood with the same unit, they can’t keep a damn compressor in stock? This is ridiculous logistics and management. Now they have to send a tech out for numerous visits and when it’s all said and done, they will have cost themselves more money in the end. I told them that with this surge/explosion issue, the compressor will be bad too, but did they listen? Nope! But now they’re going to replace the compressor since fixing the wiring didn’t solve the problem. These guys should be embarrassed that an amateur could run this business better than they do. Also, they leave the user manual and warrantee paperwork in a plastic bag in the electrical compartment. That’s what caused this in the first place. It caused an arc and blew up my unit. These guys are no good. Proceed with caution with these guys.

Consistently prompt, efficient, professional and very courteous service from the technician. Very glad to have found a busines like Dr. Fin that values high quality customer service and do high quality work and stand behind their maintenance plan service. We would highly recommend them to our neighbors, friends and family.
-
Definitely would recommend Dr Fin AC & Plumbing after having Rick do repairs in my kitchen and master bathroom. Rick knew exactly what to do and has my kitchen and bathroom back up and running. Work was completed fast and no mess left behind. He explains exactly what he's doing and gets the job done right. I can't thank him enough for coming so early and fixing everything. Dr Fin will be my go to company for future repairs.
-
Highly recommend Dr. Fin AC. Prompt and professional service. Rick did a great job diagnosing and fixing my AC on the first call. Very satisfied, you will be too.

AMAZING service! Rick (one of the owners) came out and worked very hard to fix my AC problem at a very reasonable price. This was actually the 3rd company here in the last few days…the first did nothing helpful, the second only tried to sell me a ridiculously priced new unit. Feel much better now knowing my AC needs are in honest, hard-working hands!
