HVAC reviews in Tampa, Florida

The only reason I left five stars the first time was because we were told we would get a discount for doing so. The worker offered it before knowing we were veterans and already qualified for a veteran discount. Once we left the review, he said, “Oh, okay, so this would be your price,” which ended up being the same total. He said he was new, but that still shows poor customer service and inconsistency. He told us we had to leave a review to get one hundred dollars off, but once the veteran discount applied, it just canceled out.
Up front, Comfort Pro seems recommendable. Sales and pricing are fair, and they even beat two other quotes we got. But as time goes on, you start to see where the laziness and carelessness show. We spent over fifteen thousand dollars, and my original issue still is not fixed. Some rooms never get as cool as others, which was the main reason I hired them.
They installed the insulation because we did not have any before. I am almost certain it was done by subcontractors because they showed up in regular clothes with no Comfort Pro logos. A lot of the real Comfort Pro workers wear branded shirts, which was a big tell. But if it was Comfort Pro themselves who did that job, then shame on them even more, because that means it was their own team who created the mess.
After the insulation was installed, Comfort Pro later came back to fix it because insulation was blowing into our bathroom. Months later, that same problem is still happening. On top of that, the workers covered our belongings in the attic, like suitcases and decorations, without warning us. It is not their job to move things, but it is basic courtesy to at least say something before covering everything in fiberglass.
They also use subcontractors. The installers said Comfort Pro pays them, not us, which means they are not even employees. Subcontractor or not, they still represent the company, and it is Comfort Pro’s job to hold them accountable and ensure the work is done correctly.
Even the returns seem off. A close friend of mine works in AC and said to test airflow by holding a piece of paper to the vent. The subcontractors told us to remove the vent cover and test it that way. Later, a Comfort Pro technician said that test was unreliable and should never be used. Once again, complete inconsistency.
I had an original review before this one that explained how we got here, but it honestly does not matter now. The worker we praised in that first review does not even work there anymore, and the same issues keep happening. If anyone wants the original review for context, I can share it in the comments, but the point stands that the inconsistency was there even back then.
This company is like a house with a beautiful front porch but a weak foundation. It looks nice at first, but once you look closer, you realize you are the one paying for the problems underneath. Please do your research and take these reviews seriously. Do not just read the five stars. Read the low ones too. This company looks good up front, but over time, the truth shows.
I seriously can’t believe they covered our items under insulation. -
Fernando was great and definitely earned the 5 star review! He explained everything thoroughly and answered all our questions. We’re very pleased with the service provided! Thank you!

I had the pleasure of experiencing the service of Santiago and Comfort Pro today he was very professional and well spoken . Even though my repair was costly, I felt at ease with doing the repair with him because I can tell how much he cares About his career and his very clean appearance !

Had a terrific and great experience with Anthony. He did an excellent job with explaining some of the things that were going on with the unit and answered any questions I had. Very professional and knowledgeable. I highly recommend

We have had our appliance insurance company request reports repeatedly when we had our new AC installed by them and they have not complied for 2 months now; as a result, we cannot be reimbursed by insurance for freon that was needed for our unit (about $1000). We also had a pushy hard sell when our house was at 94 degrees, and they were supposed to contact our appliance insurance company before they installed a new unit; they knew this, we did not. The technician misled us by telling us that we could get no reimbursement, and he was wrong. As a result, we are out of a significant amount of money. We would not recommend this company to anyone.

Santiago was okay. He seemed in a rush to get out of my home. He did tell me he was quoting me for a 3 ton ac unit which was incorrect. Also when I shared with him my price range based on other quotes I received, he insulted my intelligence by implying that I didn’t read the other company quotes accordingly which to me was just him trying to sell the product and not actually caring about the customer. It also made Comfort Pro overall just seem like a shady business to me. The product manager then called my phone to all of a sudden tell me about price match which nobody had mentioned at all until I shared that I would get other quotes. Overall SHADY business and also super pushy. We went with another company Ierna’s that gave us the best warranty and the best price.

My experience with Comfort Pro and American Home Shield has been extremely disappointing. After filing a claim with my home warranty company for a non-functioning air conditioner, Comfort Pro was dispatched. Their technician, Santiago, diagnosed the problem as a failed compressor. He presented three options: pay $350 out-of-pocket for a hard start, replace the compressor, or purchase a new system.
I specifically requested that the compressor be repaired or replaced, as it was identified as the root cause of the issue. However, Santiago submitted his report to American Home Shield as “replace the hard start,” a component my system did not previously have. This inaccurate diagnosis resulted in my claim being denied for the actual repair that was necessary.
To verify the issue, I paid for a second opinion from an independent HVAC company, which confirmed that my compressor had failed and required replacement. Unfortunately, after repeated discussions with both Comfort Pro and American Home Shield, no resolution was provided. In the end, I had no choice but to authorize installation of a hard start—a temporary measure—just to restore limited cooling to my upstairs.
Adding to my concerns, after completing the service, the technician returned and stated that his manager would provide a $35 Amazon gift card if I filled out their survey. I found this to be unprofessional and inappropriate.
Given this experience, I cannot recommend either Comfort Pro or American Home Shield -
So far, extremely poor customer service and was given the run-around on the status of an A/C part. Do not recommend. The only reason why they are servicing my A/C repairs is because my home warranty contracted them. However, when my A/C goes out again I will request a different contractor. The only reason why I’m giving them two stars instead of one is because the A/C technician that completed my units assessment was proficient and professional.

Anthony solved all of my issues, I learned a lot about my HVAC system and discovered it was 23 years old. Ten years older than the sellers told me ten years ago!! The company I was using had been telling me they cleaned it regularly but clearly they were not and my system was full of mold and bacteria. I got a new system with new thermostat, new ducts and new insulation installed. I am expecting my electric to be less and so happy to have it taken care of.

I called Comfort Pro LLC because my air conditioner was not working. I was given a window of 1 PM to 7 PM for the following day. I was very happy when I received notification that Santiago was on his way, and he arrived early (those of you in this Florida heat know what I mean). Santiago showed up and was extremely professional, helpful, and kept me informed about what he was doing during his visit. When it came time for the repairs, he went over in detail what needed to be done and also provided several payment options to choose from. In the end, I was extremely happy with the service I received and to be in a cool home again. Thank you once again, Santiago!

Awesome experience! My tech was the nicest AC guy I have ever met and knowledgeable. This is how service should be done. A+++
Update...wait before you give them praise. Poor service, they never completed the scope of work. Came to the appointment 3 hours late 7pm at night. Supposed to replace evaporator coil and I have the work order from ahs to prove. They never did it. Now 2 months later. My ac is leaking water everywhere and freezing up, and won't cool house. The owner came on a second check but said no mechanical issues found. Wow... The water and no cooling.... But no mechanical failures huh... -
Prompt and friendly service. They were able to come out and give me a quote and set up an install within a quick timeframe. It's $79 for a service visit which they waive if you have them do the work.
Santiago was knowledgeable and friendly. He provided multiple solutions for my issue and we settled on the best option for me. Would use again.
Adding an additional duct with A/C vent to a room (without attic access). -
Appreciation for Anthony!
I’d like to express my appreciation for Anthony from Comfort Pro. He inspected my AC thoroughly and provided clear, valuable insights about its performance and maintenance. I really value the time he took to educate me and make everything easy to understand. Outstanding professionalism and customer care! -
They was scheduled as my service provider from home warranty company. The appointment was scheduled quick and the technician arrived promptly. Santiago was our technician and he went above and beyond what was asked of him. He fixed a previous company mess up and so much more.

I’m giving you all 3 stars because you all made an effort to come out and repair the issue twice and the tech was very nice BUT I do have some concerns with the work that was done in the way it was done. I’m not an AC tech but they’re just some things that are common sense. 1st if their is a fairly inexpensive part that is going bad and the insurance only pays to fix the part and not replace it. Please give the customer the opportunity to speak to insurance first in order to try and get entire inexpensive part replaced versus doing a temporary fix of that part. 2nd and very importantly I noticed the tech in both occasions left the part inside its original box while mounting it. I asked the tech if that was ok since it’s cardboard and he replied “yes” and that since the part doesn’t fit the bracket this will help. After doing some research the tech was suppose to remove the box and if need be replace the strap or adjust the strap/bracket to make it fit with no box. I’m not saying this to get the tech in trouble because he was a very nice guy but it needs to be known that it’s not ok to leave the cardboard box on the product around electrical on an outside unit. Here are the pictures of the part inside the box and the information I found online about it for a learning experience. Thank you

Santiago was fantastic! We just wanted to get a general checkup on our unit before the winter season and he was very thorough in checking each part and documenting everything in a detailed report. He answered all our questions and really took his time to make sure everything was in great shape!

Santiago came and was very thorough and solved our issue and climbed under our mobile home twice. He did extra and found a huge hole in our ducts. We are very appreciative!!

I recently signed up for the gold maintenance plan through comfort pro. The women who i spoke with on the phone in regards to an appointment was clueless and didn’t sound knowledgeable however Santiago, the technician for my home was friendly and knowledgeable on my system along with my nest thermostat. He provided great service. If you are looking for an affordable, reliable HVAC company i’d recommend Comfort Pro.

Fernando, my technician quickly got a detailed description from me of the issue. He quickly did a thorough inspection and diagnosed the problem. Had my house cooling down within the hour! Would definitely recommend this company. Fernando was probably one of the best technicians I've ever dealt with! Hold onto that young man at all cost!

Santiago was extremely professional and knowledgeable. He came out to service my AC units and provided helpful recommendations without ever being pushy. I truly appreciated his honesty and expertise. I really enjoyed my interactions with him and would absolutely recommend his service!

I hired them to do HVAC tuneup. Fernando did an excellent job. He had been here 8 months before to replace a capacitor. He checked over the entire system and gave some good advice on setting the temperatures on my multi-zone system. He explained what he was doing on each step and answered all my questions.
