HVAC reviews in Tampa, Florida

Massive upsell (quoted 7k for various items). I'm sure contractor can do the job well but that's insane cost. I will end of parcing certain tasks to do myself. Fair pricing from this company is poor. Also, if you are going to suggest a new ac unit, at least be honest. System is only 5 years, getting a new unit is also ridiculous - that's on the contractor, very dishonest

Del Air installed a new system- Handler/ compressor last Sept 2024...Bosch. After the installation it took county inspectors three(3) visits to the home in order to approve the work for the permit issuance. This was not a cheap endeavor, but an expensive investment, upgrade for a home that is only 13 years old.
This September, 2025, a leak was discovered on the floors of the hallway, laundry room, 2 bedrooms and the garage. The company- Drl-Air- responded and serviced it. The technician insisted that the water issue was a plumbing problem. A plumber was called, assessed with the meter pressure and determined that the water is coming from the A/C Handler.
Del- Air was called and an emergency tech had to make a hole in the base of the Handler and, discovered a PCV valve broken, which led to the water leak.
My big problem with this company is that they a agree to a scheduled appointment for a follow up to complete repairs on the new unit and, then decide to change the response and not notify the owner until hours go by, inconveniencing the owners. This happened four(4) times in just one week.
How does this company stay in business with so many negative reviews made? And, try to have corporate to contact you via email and address this unprofessional way of doing business.
For all those considering a service from this company, be aware. There are no ratings below the one star, otherwise it would be zero. -
AC stopped working today, called around 1pm and was given a 2-4 PM (same day) window. Stuart showed up, and as I met him in the driveway to describe what steps I had done to check the system out, he told me I thinks he knows what's wrong before even stepping in the house. Within minutes he had the system up and running and showed me some maintenance steps I could perform on my own in the future. Stuart was friendly, knowledgeable and pleasant to talk to. He did recommend a maintenance agreement, but did not "pressure" us in anyway, just let us know it was available and what the benefits of having it are. Thumbs up Stuart!

I scheduled a maintenance visit with Del-Air for my annual membership tune-up and specifically requested a technician named Ryan. Instead of a service tech, two people showed up — a sales representative and another person who barely did any maintenance work. The “service” consisted of pouring hot water down my drain line and spending nearly two hours trying to sell me a brand-new $62,000 system that I never asked for.
My current AC system works fine — it’s only 8 years old and cools the house well. I was expecting a professional cleaning and inspection as part of the membership I paid around $250 for, not a sales pitch. What’s worse is that my membership had expired in July, but I was told it would be honored since I hadn’t used any visits. Unfortunately, this visit felt like a bait-and-switch.
Del-Air used to be a reliable company, but this experience has completely changed my opinion. If you’re calling them for actual maintenance service, be careful — you may end up with a sales presentation instead of the work you paid for. -
9/29 Jess came from Del Air to inspect our AC unit. We moved into the house July 2025 and previous owner wasn't sure how old. Well our system and duct work was full crap, it was horrible and the duct work was full of duct tape. We needed an entire new system, she was very knowledgeable and helpful. Loved her!
9/30 Jerami came with another guy and spent most of day working on the new equipment. They were great, kept us up to date on what was happening. They were supposed to bring AC unit to keep us cool for day, especially as we were watching our twin grandsons. But it would be a 3 hour RT trip to go back to get one, they had a turbo fan and we had one and used those, it was fine.
We will have inspection in two weeks but we are already feeling much cooler! I would recommend this company in a heartbeat! -
More reviews like this need to be at the top for everyone. This company is a complete scam. They came by for routine maintenance and ended up trying to sell me on some repairs for an evaporator coil, I declined and was told that I could put my AC back on if need be, but it'll drain refrigerant, but I will be ok because I have enough to last until the end of the winter. I told them I wouldn't touch it until it got a little hotter. Well I tried it out on Saturday and find out it's flipping the breaking, so I have them come out to fix their mistakes, it seems like they had something stopping the unit from running. So I have 2 new techs come the next day, they do some work outside then call me out, and tell me they had DISABLED the safety feature to power the compressor on, then ran it before I had any time to respond, which then caused the entire system to explode and blow out all of my refrigerant into the air. They refused to fix the problem they caused, refused to take my calls to their manager, refused to do anything that any responsible business should do, then on top of that, they told me over double the price of any of their competitors to fix the problem, specifically the problem they caused...
GO ANYWHERE ELSE. Do not choose them! -
New Home, new unit, installed by Del-Air. Zones are reversed, techs have been out 4 times in just the first year to fix things. Still not working correctly. Moving on to a new company. At Del-Air nobody really seems to know what they are doing. I feel like the next person is going to undo what the previous person reconfigured. Remember this is a new install, nothing is broken, but things are not wired and zoned correctly. Still under warranty or I would have had a few claims and lawyers.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. First time out, told me my coils were cracked replaced my coils(hefty bill). 2 weeks later, same issue and claimed it was the Freon. Added more, 3 weeks later same issue. That’s just the big issue. Their scheduling SUCKS. If they tell you a time they’ll be there, if it’s not first thing in the morning, they’ll show up hours later.
Please fix my AC so I never have to use you guys again. PLEASE! Or refund me so I can call a reliable company.
Update: A female assistant was nice and provided contact information to management and service management. No one returned voicemails. The assistant advised she emailed them and one was out of town till following week. Left voicemails again, no contact back.
Ended up contacting another company who came out and located a crack on the exterior coils. Mind you, both units are 3 years old. I find it hard to believe the 3-4 Del-Air guys missed the exterior crack, because he located it very quickly. The exterior coils were replaced and I haven’t had issues since! The other company was so much better to deal with and CHEAPER! -
I have used del air since they bought out simpson. Simpon installeda brand new Carrier AC 5 years ago at my place, and i have an older seperate unit. I have had matainance every 6 months on these units and have been told all my systems stufff is in perfect woring order for my entire time with del air. I was subscribed to their matainance package and kept having them out. They showed up routinley for this matainence, and tod me my units were both in bad shape, one was too old to maintain (though they had been maintating it for over a year) and that the 5 year old new unit was leaking from the compressor and evaporator and would eventually die as soon as hot weather hit adn that I should consider replacing/repairing both asap. I have warranty until 2030 on the carrier which i paid $8k for in 2020. They quited me $6200+ for the carrier repair giving me $400 off the compressor and $600 off the evaporator. When we we talked about it in the house it was about 5k repair and 8k replacment ac for the other unit. By the time we got to the truck outside, it went to $6200 and 9k for the new unit. I complained telling htem why have they not warned me that things were degrading and would eventually need to be changed, they said this wa simpossible but when looing at their notes, found that it was exactly what happened. They said they would fwd to upper management, get me an explanation and callme back. 2 weeks went by with no call and I started calling the field tech who was there, he escalated it to the ops manager who called me back. He said he would discount the price and give me a years free matainance and apologized. He gave me his personal number and said to call him for anything, he also said he would comp me a years worth of matainance going forward which I would have otherwise cancelled. 2 more weeks go by and i see them chanrging my card for the matainance amount monthly payment. I callthe ops manager and it goes right to the regular number. They have never heard of Alexis the ops manager, so I start calling the field supe instead who gets me a callback from the ops mananger, who gives me the same lies he told me the first time. Lats week he said the charge would be reversed and I would get a lower quote. He took the $6200 and made it $4200 and said he would credit my card. I had anotehr company come over, they said all the claims del air made were false and my system was in working order except for a failing $110 capacitor. I just had to call my credit card and block them from future payments as they still havenot crediteed me. Del air is 50-70% more than the national average on pricing adn uses scare tactics to get you to do the work. They act like dealership car salesmen selling fear and repairs without explaining exactly whats going on. They just expect you to pay. This is a horrible rippoff with changing prices and corporate doesnt seem to give a damn. Buyer beware, worst experience ever.

Told me a panel was shorted out and had leaks in my coil. To replace the panel was $660 and to change out the coil was $3,300 or I could replace it for $10,000. Had another technician with over 40 years of experience come out. Turned the unit on and it ran like a champ. Panel was not shorted out. Said the leak in the coil was so small that an additive would fix that in an instant. House is nice and cool all for less than $200. It's hard to trust anyone in this industry. There are so many who are dishonest and will fabricate issues that do not exist. Add Del-Air to that list. Never again. I would never recommend them to anyone.

1st time home owner, 1st time fixing our AC unit, we did not know we still had our 10 years part warranty, and we saw a label on our handler that you have to call Del' Air to fix this to have the warranty approved, noone else can touch or move the unit. Well, we did not know that any authorized contractor can fix it and sort the warranty paper for you. We called Del air and paid $99 for their visit, the tech said we needed to change the compressor and it is free in the warranty, BUT they charge $2600 for labor after 15% discount if we buy their annual membership. Well I can not accept this price so I checked with 2 other companies and they offered 50% of what Delair quoted, such a shame. We will never use Del Air again for such poorly ethical business mind. It is such a scam to say that only Del air can claim the warranty!!!

Buyer beware. My honest opinion don't select them for your next AC installation, they are not at all like Simpson. My installation was incomplete and not to code, moreover the unit is not functional less than 30 days after installation. I have a brand new package AC that at current IS NOT WORKING which ran me around $12K for a lennux. Most recently, an "escalation" specialist was sent out and he told me a part would have to be ordered. When I called in today the call center team member said no part was ordered and that my AC on file showed as "resolved" Its been 30 degrees at night and I have no heat, here in a few days it will be back over 80 degrees and will have no Cooling... I would honestly choose anyone but them, as it appears I may now have to get legal assistance for consumer affairs, breech of contract, and code violations. At current the unit is also still not fully installed I should add, wires are to short pulled well away from box/wall and held together with electric tape and fully exposed. Photos from original installation. Pad looks better now but wiring is worse

Terrible. Run the other way. 1 star is FAR too generous for this company and how they conduct business. I purchased a brand new ac unit with them 3 weeks ago and it stopped working. They have no call, no showed to multiple appointments and have zero concern to make this right. Every time I’ve called I get the same “I’m sorry, let me send a message to dispatch” and that’s the most their customer service team can do. No mangers are available to talk to and they are unable to contact the technicians. To date, I have spent close to 17 hours waiting for them to show up. They should be ashamed at the scam of a company they are running.

Ron Olu-Coker’s conduct during his visit to my home was deeply concerning. He spoke to my wife in a manner that was dismissive and disrespectful, causing her significant emotional distress. Such behavior is not only unprofessional, but wholly inconsistent with the standards one would expect from someone in a supervisory role.
Equally troubling was his candid admission that, as a supervisor, he performs only the “bare minimum.” He says he doesn't even go up ladders cause he's the supervisor. Leadership establishes culture. When a supervisor openly embraces minimal effort, it inevitably signals to the team that mediocrity is acceptable. The guys he supervises are all following his lead. That is a serious reflection on operational standards and accountability.
Compounding this issue is the fact that your company has been to my home more than 20 times over the course of nearly two years, and the underlying problem still has not been resolved. After this many service visits, the continued failure to correct the issue points to a breakdown in oversight, technical competence, or both.
If this is the level of leadership and follow-through Del Air endorses, it raises legitimate concerns about the company’s commitment to professionalism, accountability, and service excellence. Representation at the supervisory level directly impacts how an organization is perceived and at this stage, the impression left is deeply disappointing & concerning giving the facts we pay them a substantial amount of money & our health is at risk.
I expect this matter to be reviewed promptly and addressed with the seriousness it warrants.
Future customers stay far away & existing customers end that situationship. -
The technician diagnosed that my water was shut off. I turned it on and everything’s working just fine.
-
Your technician was courteous and on time! He thoroughly checked the system both inside and out until he pinpointed the issue! I am so satisfied with Jarrod's professional service!

Great service to repair and replace our broken glass door on GE double oven. Associate was punctual, courteous and professional. We would use Sears Home Services again.
