Plumbing reviews in Tampa, Florida

So far a good experience with their service and technician. A little bit more expensive than going through Home Depot or Lowe's, but it seems you get a better product and end result. Their technician was fast, and cleaned up after himself. No complaints about him at all. Time will tell, if anything changes in a year after the installation I'll update the review.

Matt’s plumbing showed up on time for a hot water issue in our shower. Met my wife and was courteous and friendly. Quoted us for $1,300 repair. Got a second opinion and had the other plumber fix the problem (cartridge issue) for $250.

We had major problems, and I feel like Matt's recognized how devastating it was to us and gave us a fair price for the amount of work that had to be done. They communicated everything well, and made sure we were up and running 100%. They're our new go to plumbers and would recommend them to anyone in need of plumbing work.

Jerry was great to work with. He quickly found a resolution to my issue and repaired it professionally. We will gladly work with Matts Plumbing Services again.

Chad from Matt's Plumbing came to our place to help us with a clogged shower drain. He showed up on time, was super nice, talked me through everything and all my options, and was priced pretty reasonably. Also gave me a quote on some other things he recommended as well, so he clearly went above and beyond.

Prompt and courteous. Dustin H, did a wonderful job, and his partner, I’m embarrassed to say I don’t remember his name, did a masterful job repairing our sanitary sewer line. Matt’s Plumbing is our plumber from this day forward. Thank you Jacob for your professional help as well.

Chadd was OUTSTANDING with all the "Q" I had for him... he gave me a breakdown on everything I needed to be done,....very knowledgeable in his work...he took time to say hi to my dog & talk about other things we had in common that we both have gone through,... those little things he does with customer's makes a big difference for public relations with people & is a huge bonus for the company he work with.... very friendly & great communication, definitely deserves a raise!

This review is long and was months in the making. I spent over $14K to repipe my whole home and it was a nightmare. No permits were pulled, work was improperly done, leaks all over the house, and many many call backs. In short, do not under any circumstances use this company. Below is a more detailed account of why.
They stated they did not need to pull permits nor did they get any utilities marked before digging. The first team that was there dug a new ditch to run the 3/4" PEX from the street and tunneled under the driveway. The ditch they dug was about 6-10 inches deep. They were notified of this, but did not correct it to code which is more than 12 inches deep. One of the workers on the first team was gone for most of the days, and left the apprentice to do all the work. They left trash everywhere except the copper pipes which they were sure to get, used my personal shower towels that were of high quality, installed the toilet unlevel, repair plates were installed upside down and not caulked at all, hot and colds were flipped, they didn't tie into the existing vents nor install new ones, and the water softener was left bypassed. I reported all of this immediately after the first team left around noon on Friday of that first week, stating they were done minus 'a few really quick things to do Monday morning.'
Matt's sent their 'best team' out to fix all of these issues the second week. All that week, the supervisor Sean kept coming and pressuring them to go faster as 'they have spent enough time and money on this job.' Since then, less than six months ago, I have had three of the four sinks leak, the toilet still isn't level, they had to be called back for hot/cold being routed improperly, broken vents that allow septic smell to fill the home, water traps that dry out in a matter of days, toilets that clog and continuously run, a water softener that still doesn't work, the hose for the ice maker burst because they put used parts on there, PEX pipe being used everywhere even against code like the shower riser, pipes being routed so that walls could not be repaired, and they crushed air vent ducts during installation.
It is a constant worry about what will break next due to the improper work that wasn't to code. I've worked with them on come backs and spoken to another supervisor named Jake, who clearly did not have enough time to go over the extensive issues and only listened to me for a few minutes. I've learned a valuable lesson in hiring them. Please don't make the same mistake I did.
Edited February 2025: still so many issues nearly monthly. Latest thing was all the toilets valves and such needed replacement after just over a year because they took the expensive Gerber parts and replaced them with a cheap FluidMaster universal kit. Not the first time I’ve noticed they install used parts.
Update August 2025: I kept having clogging issues and the new plumber found that most of the drain pipes didn’t have the right pitch, allowing water to stagnate and cause buildup. Photo added. -
I had the most disappointing experience and overcharged to make an 5x5 access to a garden tub in my mobile home.
The owner Jake Fogel told me by phone that the issue had been repaired, some older tubing/piping was crimped and the cold water would trickle out. They sent tech out twice, mostly trying to upsale repiping whole mobile for $8,500.00.
I paid $590.00 just for the access hole in tile to make repair. I did ask for a refund of $300.00 which $290.00 was more than enough to cover cutting into the tile. See pic below.
My renter covered the hole with black tape. Mr. Fogel told me there would be no refund. My new handyman said he could have done the access for $100.00. They say there is a sucker born everyday guess I had to learn a hard lesson.
I will never recommend Matt’s Plumbing to anyone and I know a lot of people in several counties. BEWARE OF THIS PLUMBING SERVICE. Wouldn’t want anyone to have the experience I had. Their prices are outrageous and absolutely overpriced. This company should be reported to BBB and shame on them for taking advantage of a disabled 66 year old. -
Ronald and Joseph repaired a major water leak under my house. They also replaced my hot water heater and a leak under my bathroom sink.
They are very hard working men and very polite. They even swept the floors and made sure everything was back in place like they found it.
They treat you like you’re family.
If I ever need another plumber, it will definitely be Matt’s Plumbing.
Thank you for your service. -
Chad was great and very informative. He gave me several different options in different price ranges and quality. I had a free estimate for toilet work and a water heater and the prices for the quotes seemed fair, and he said that he could have the work done very quickly. When I finally decide to make a move, I will be giving Matt's a call.

Our water heater died and we need fast help! Chad came to service the water heater, and he was very professional and courteous. He explained everything thoroughly and had it all taken care of within the time frame he gave us. Thank you Chad!

Jaasen was so detail oriented and overall the best service tech ever encountered. He was very informative, gave different options and once decided came back quickly and did an amazing job and even made sure all was spotless before leaving. All techs and customer service should be like him!

I’m currently working on a job in Tampa and was a little hesitant about using a plumbing company I wasn’t familiar with. After doing some research, Matt’s Plumbing stood out as a high-quality and reputable company—and they absolutely lived up to it. Ricky was my technician and he was outstanding. He showed up on time, was extremely professional, gave me a clear and fair quote, and was able to complete the work right then and there. Super efficient and easy to work with. I’m very happy with the service and will definitely be using them again whenever I’m back in the Tampa area. Highly recommend!

Excellent Service and work!
We had a slab leak and had to repipe the whole house. Nick, Carlos and MJ were awesome. They were such a pleasure to work with. Their positive outlook made an otherwise difficult situation much easier to deal with. They took the time and effort to minimize damage rather than creating a lot of unnecessary repairs after the plumbing was done.
We will definitely use this team at Matt’s Plumbing in the future. -
We just started using Matt's Plumbing, first for a pipe leak (Jim) and more recently for a garbage disposal replacement (Jerry). Had a really positive experience for both, from estimate to scheduling and the work being done. Jim and Jerry were professional, knowledgeable about the work, and super easy to work with. Matt's is our new go-to for all things plumbing. Definitely recommend!

They were there to repair the garbage disposal, which led to a bigger project. Upon removing the old disposal, he found the drain pipe was broken off from the main down-drain, causing water to drain onto the floor behind the wall instead of the down - pipe. He replaced everything within a few hours and put us in contact with a mold assessment company to take on the water damage. Definitely what seems like a premium in price, but Jerry was great. Worked quickly, stayed in contact with updates and pictures, and waited for approval before doing any additional work.

Chad got to me sooner than expected. He was professional and friendly. He told me what he could do to unclog the drain and what the possible scenarios were. There were no surprises. I would recommend Matt's Plumbing, specifically Chad S. To all of my friends.

Ricky was very patient and helpful. Helped explain everything to us and our options. If you can request a tech id suggest him!!
Matt the owner and Joseph C were great too (they were here on a different day) -
This company and their employees are top notch. They were accommodating for a last minute but urgent plumbing issue. My windows was 10-2 however one thing I loved is they would send a text out when the tech was on the way. Thankfully I didn’t have to wait around for 4 hours. I got the text and headed over immediately. Chad was incredibly knowledgeable. He found the issue immediately and didn’t hesitate to correct the problem asap. Chad took the time to go through the issue and how to avoid it in the future. I would highly recommend this company. They’re not trying to Jerry Rig the problem like most complained do, they fix other mistakes and get you back on track.
