My LG fridge stopped cooling after 18 yrs. LG recommended City Boys R Us as one of the service providers for my area. I'm glad I reached out to them. From my initial call to the service itself, they were courteous, professional, honest and thorough. I was told a tech would call me and he did in less than an hour. Was given a window from 2:30 - 4:30 which is typical and they showed up at 3:13. Curtis evaluated my fridge and gave me the news I did not want to hear, my compressor was shot and needed to be replaced. His detailed overview of what I can expect and honest recommendation was refreshing. Most business will just take your money.

While I hope my appliances behave, I can say that City Boys R us will have my business from now on.

Note, they were not my first call. I reached out to Appliance EMT who gave me a 3 hour window the day before and never gave me a courtesy call to say they were running late. After 3 hours and a phone call later, I canceled the service request. I'm glad, as it led me to City Boys R Us.

Kenmore Dyer when I call Google goes service company I ask for Black own company certificate. When I call they told me a someone will call within an half After waiting one hour in half no one call so I call back Mr Gurtis call me right away. Got job done clea u did what I needed. I called and scheduled a service with a technician and asked if he was going to call when he was 15 minutes out because when you are downstairs you couldn’t hear the doorbell. He went on to ask was I going to be home because time is money. I told him my adult kids are there and they could pay him at the time of service. He told me that since I am the one that called I need to be present. Then he went on to say that per there policy, I would need to pay online. I said okay and then he hung on me. I try to patronize black business but now I realize why black entrepreneurs have a hard time because they lack communication skills and are very abrasive. I have done business with City Boyz years ago and it’s obvious they are under new management. It’s a hard NO for me.

Got some much needed work done to my Samsung refrigerator on Super Bowl Sunday. The technician was very helpful and super knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend.

Buyers be aware, I hired Curtis to fix my fridge with an electrical problem. I was having intermittent ice and water dispensing issues before it stopped working all together. After five visits and almost one thousand dollars worth of parts (parts I didn’t need) he advised me I had an electrical issue and I needed a new door to fix the issue, I told him I wasn’t going to spend any more money on the fridge and he needed to take the parts and process my refund, and he agreed to do that and advised me he will be back on Saturday to pick up the parts, but never did. I called LG and LG was able to fix the issue, and I spent less than $500. According to LG, I did not need any of the parts the technician installed, and I’m how stuck with a thousand dollar worth of parts that didn’t need. This is not an honest business, be very careful paying in advance, you may not get your money back. Question any business that is asking you to pay in advance and ordering parts you don’t need and trying to fix your appliances using trial and error method and don’t have a tool and knowledge to do an accurate diagnostic.

My husband attempted to clean our drain filter on our Samsung washer and stripped the housing which caused a leak. I searched for an emergency appliance repair company and found City Boys R Us. I agreed to the emergency rate, the tech came out determined the issue, and ordered the parts needed. We expected 3-5 business days for the part to arrive, it came in two days. The tech came out Monday night February 16th 2026 and completed the repair. My husband and I agreed to never watch YouTube and attempt a repair again LOL !!!

This is an absolute scam. Some random guy in a regular car in ripped jeans showed up looked at my dishwasher for like ten minutes basically said "I don't know guess you should get a new one" and charged me.

This is a scam company. They will charge you $70 to come out and if you refuse their extremely inflated pricing they will take your $70 anyway and be fine with it. I had them come look at my ice machine. The technician assured me 3 times that it was not working because it needed to be cleaned and that it would cost $310!! to clean it. Since I was out $70 regardless I had them clean it. All he did was poor a bottle of solution, wipe the inside with a rag, and press the clean button on the machine. Again, assuring me that was the problem. 2 days later it is still not working. They refuse to refund my money for something that wasnt the problem. Do not use this company, they will rip you off.

We had someone come out to look at our dishwasher leaking and not working. They were a complete waste of our time and money. He said it's the control board not working and would fix it for $149 and if it didn't work after fixing we would not be charged for fixing only for service fee. After 'fixing' he said it works fine, day after that it wasn't working again. I think if he had just said we need a new washer it would have been better than telling us it could be fixed when it really couldn't be fixed. New control board costs over $400 and with that we can get a new dishwasher. Very disappointed, we felt like the technician wasn't being honest with us.

The work was good..but we thought the charge for the repair was high ,$ 750 ice maker leak
