HVAC reviews in Doraville, Georgia

Our upstairs AC was broken and I was not crazy about the HVAC company we were currently using. I asked for recommendations on the Nextdoor app. Out of 45 recommendations Comfortman had 4 glowing reviews. Before calling Dan Goss at Comfortman I decided to see what our current AC company had to say. Without even working on the unit the owner of the company said we would need to replace the unit to the tune of $6K. No thanks I said. I immediately called Dan and he came out within 24 hours. Within an hour he had the unit up and running to the tune of $342. To say I will never call the other company or send them a Christmas card is an understatement. Thank you comfortman for your timely, honest and thorough work. 5 stars all the way.

When our AC system lost its freon, I asked four neighbors who they use and three of them said "Dan Goss"! I called him on Friday and he came out late the same day, busy as he was, since it was HOT. Dan gave me a thorough understanding of my options and was extremely good about listening to my concerns and addressed them in his proposed solution. Gave me a competitive quote and an excellent installation using a team of three professionals. A very competent and trustworthy professional, highly recommended. Five stars!

Very happy we called the Comfortman! Dan was able to see us the same day we called, and was able to get our furnace working again almost immediately. As a new homeowner, I appreciated how he walked me through the basic operation of the furnace as well as what to look out for to avoid major issues down the road.

5+ star service. Dan is an exceptional technical troubleshooter, and he has skills that can only be gained from experience. I bought a Trane 2-stage furnace and AC in June 2023. Turned on the heat for the 1st time three weeks ago. It took me a couple of days to figure out that the knocking noise I was hearing in my house was coming from the crawlspace.
I called the installer and they had a senior tech come out. His notes: "The cold draft going up into the chase is causing the flue pipe to tick because it is cooling off very quickly because of the draft. Recommended calling an insulation company to insulate the chase and seal off in the crawlspace and the attic." Another solution was to replace the existing flue pipe (which would include cutting through drywall). The total cost of that would be upwards of 3K.
I wanted a 2nd opinion.
Dan arrived at my home on a Saturday afternoon, diagnosed the problem, explained what was happening, and fixed it within an hour. He said my installers did a good job: it was my duct that needed a little work. The knocking noise is gone, and I can sleep again. Whatever issue you have, he’s the one you want to call. -
When we woke up to our A/C unit surrounded by a mini-lake in our basement, I initially didn't call Dan Goss at Comfortman because he was so popular and well-reviewed online that I figured I'd never be able to grab a same-day appointment with him. But when the mega-company (who shall go unnamed here) that I DID call contacted me in the afternoon to say they would be arriving much later than the window I had initially booked, I decided to go with my first instinct and call Comfortman with all fingers crossed.
I should have gone with my initial instinct--not only was Dan at our house within an hour after my call, he had our problem diagnosed and fixed in about twenty minutes! He was able to explain what had happened, how I could prevent it in the future, and what NOT to worry about with our unit. And instead of having to decide which credit card I would have to use for all of it, I was able to pay his incredibly reasonable service and labor fee with no problem (and much gratitude). He is efficient and thorough, easy to talk to, remarkably good at what he does, completely focused on customer service and satisfaction, and just a seriously nice guy on top of all of that. Our overall experience with Comfortman could not have been better, and next time I'll have enough sense to call Dan first! -
Dan the Comfort Man. We called him after 5 pm. He very kindly came by on his way home to examine our heater who's fan had seized up. He confirmed my husbands diagnosis and came back the next morning with the parts and tools necessary to fix our furnace. The repair was not inexpensive, but quite a bit less expensive than some of the other quotes. We weren't even charged for his diagnosis time.
He was friendly, efficient, helpful and knowledgeable. It was quick and fairly painless. I definitely will call him for anything related to my heating and air in the future. -
Dan is the freaking man! He is super helpful and friendly. He clearly knows what he is doing and does a great job explaining the problem and what the options are. Very personable and honest. What more could you ask for? Thanks, Dan!

I have been a customer of Dan's since my furnace broke down during a freeze in 2013. It was less than two years old, and he immediately saw the shortcut the installers (large company in Atlanta) had taken. He gave me the wording for the codes they violated, I emailed the company, and they had to come out and fix both things.
Dan was here recently to change the filter in that furnace. He noticed a smell in the furnace exhaust and ran a combustion analysis test and found that the carbon monoxide levels in that exhaust were extraordinarily high. The carbon monoxide wasn't coming through the vents, but enough was seeping in through the windows that I had been experiencing mysterious headaches. Basically, Dan saved my life. It could have killed me, because eventually it would have come through the vents, and the furnace had been running seemingly fine.
SO, I basically can't say enough good about Dan. They don't make 'em like that anymore. I"m talking about people, not furnaces, but those aren't so good anymore either! Dan's the best. -
Dan was great. He has an answering service that takes calls when he’s under a house somewhere, they were very professional, bright and cheery. And so was Dan, who called me within five minutes of me leaving a message. He asked a few questions to help narrow down the problem. Then he showed up 15 minutes later and we had AC within an hour. Very good manners, made good conversation, genuinely interested in us. Great guy.

Dan at Comfortman was the only person to answer my call on the first Sunday after the temperatures started to drop and our heat wouldn’t come on. He came as quick as he could and he was extremely personable. It turned out to be a quick fix and he charged us a very fair price. Not only would I highly recommend Comfortman for all your HVAC needs, but do yourself a favor and get to know Dan and you won’t regret it! He’ll be our go to going forward and he should be your’s too!

We started using Dan's services many many years ago, when the business name was Dekalb Care, and we were very pleased with the care that we got. Until last year, when twice he did not show for an appointment.
The first time he called and rescheduled because of the weather. The second time nothing. No apology, no reschedule, he just ghosted us. Until I saw his truck on my neighbor's driveway today, I thought he was dead. But no, just not the same nice reliable guy that he once was. -
5 star service. Dan is very knowledgeable and was able to fix my problem for a reasonable price. He also was able to come the next day which was a big deal considering it was 100 degrees when my AC went out. He also spent some extra time to give me tips on a separate DIY project I had going on. I highly recommend him.

What a nice guy! Dan arrived on time, was very professional and courteous. He set about doing what I needed and then we had a nice chat about my HVAC issues. He wasn't pushy about what needed to be done and just let me know the facts (even showing me pictures he took of the issue). He knew his limitations and gave me a great referral to resolve my issue. I would highly recommend Comfortman for your HVAC needs.

Dan Goss is the best. He and his crew just installed a new furnace and A/C in our home. After an initial in-home consultation, he sent us a written proposal (including his guarantee) which outlined three systems at different price points—our choice, no hard sell. Within a week of our response, he scheduled the installation. Never before have we had a service crew arrive consistently at the exact time promised, but Dan and his crew did for three days running (including Saturday and Sunday). They worked hard from 8:15 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day; it took the amount of time he had predicted. Throughout the process Dan answered our questions and kept us apprised of their progress. He also installed a new thermostat, which he had told us how to get at a reduced price from Georgia Power. When finished, he explained everything and left us an extra filter. Our basement, yard, and garage were spotless. Dan is patient, informative, and just plain fun to talk to. His professionalism, knowledge, and reliability are outstanding. We had interviewed a number of different service providers, but chose Dan based on his many positive reviews. We are so glad we did. You will be too.

Dan was exceptional. He took the time to explain everything very thoroughly, truly fix the problem, and tell us about the maintenance we needed to do to make sure it doesn't come back. I would recommend him 100 times over. We will be calling Dan again the next time anything happens, and I will let the Mother Tuckers group know he's a great serviceman.

Dan is an exceptional HVAC technician and truly cares about what’s best for you. He gives HVAC advice even if it’s
not in his best interest just because it’s the right thing to do. -
I called Dan to schedule an appointment(Thursday) his next availability was Friday. I received a call Thursday late afternoon “he had a few minutes to spare” could he come help me? WOW he chose a customer over a short break and cooling off!! I call that above and beyond especially in this heat after an already busy long day. He was very knowledgeable, friendly AND my AC was fixed!! If you are looking for a reputable, honest and fair company this IS THE ONE. Thank you Comfortman😊

We have a home warranty but could not get an appointment to repair our air conditioner for a week in 95 degree weather. We called Dan, he came that afternoon and had it running in 10 minutes. He used a temporary part and returned in a few days with a permanent one. The cost was less than the service fee of the warranty. Dan has great knowledge, he identified the problem immediately. I highly recommend him.

Dan arrived at our house less than an hour after our call and got us up and running again just as quickly, and he did this all on New Year's Day! Dan is friendly and professional, and his fee was very reasonable (in fact, it was much lower than what I paid one of the big heating & cooling companies several summers ago for a simple diagnostic call). Dan came highly recommended by friends, and we will likewise recommend Dan & Comfortman to anyone needing HVAC work.
