I needed some HVAC work done on our home and I asked my Leafmore neighborhood Google group for someone they'd recommend I got one resounding response: "Call Dan Goss at Dekalb C.A.R.E."

Now, I too know who to call when I have an HVAC problem in the future and I also know who to recommend to my family and friends.

Dan is top notch. Period. End of story. He quickly gets the job done, is dependable, and his prices are very affordable.

I have switched to Dan recently after reading great reviews and they were true! Dan is not a "sales guy" working on commission. He will try to work out good solutions at minimum cost. He is very responsive. There is no way I am going back to one of the large commission based competitors!

I highly recommend DeKalb C.A.R.E. for all your HVAC needs. It's very refreshing to deal directly with the owner of the company, and you can tell Dan Goss cares about the service he provides. Last month when my aging AC unit (from 1986) finally bit the dust, I knew just who to call. Dan promptly returned my call, and came out the same day to check it out. In addition to replacing the AC system, he also corrected problems with the duct work to improve airflow. The project was completed on-time and on-budget at a very reasonable rate. We were so happy to have cold air again! Dan and his crew worked quickly to get the new AC unit up and running in the summer heat.. they removed all the old parts, and left my basement looking cleaner than it did even before they started work! If I ever need HVAC service again, I'll call DeKalb CARE.

So impressed with Dan Goss and Comfortman. Dan came and worked in less than ideal circumstances to get my AC system back up and running. His pricing is excellent and a nicer person cannot be found. Highly recommend.

We live in the Tucker area and we needed our air conditioner serviced. We contacted Comfortman and scheduled an appointment. Dan was our serviceman and he was awesome, showed up time and was able to repair our unit. We will definitely contact him again should we have issues in the future.

I was referred to Dan by a good friend so I knew I could trust him. I was using another service for A/C repairs and was quoted a lot of $ for a repair. I called Dan, he gave me info. knowing that I already had the other company scheduled to come out to repair my A/C, he spent time on the phone to explain to me what they were going to do (the other company had a person that I had trouble understand b/c of an english issue) and what I should expect. I was so impressed with him that I cancelled with the other company and had him fix my unit. He saved me over $100. to boot! I highly recommend him. He showed up when he said he would and stayed the amount of time he thought he would. You can trust him and his work.

Dan Goss, of Comfortman is my go to person for anything heating or air related. When my 26 year old HVAC went out suddenly, he came out to see what the issue was. When it was determined we needed a new unit, he gave a detailed and very reasonable quote for the replacement. I have such faith in Dan that I did not even need to get another quote. I'm not sure I have ever trusted a repairman to that extent. We promptly set up a date to replace the unit. He did a fantastic job and even did several other things for us that were not on the quote and even gave us several of the 5" filters to fit the unit. If you need an hvac guy, this is your man! He is the best and treats his work like he would want someone to work on his. We love the new unit and we love Comfortman!!!

Furnace out, 8 degrees, call Dan & he answers promptly but tells me its going to be a couple of days & offers a couple of referrals that might be available, I tell him I'll wait 2 days. He arrives on time, fixes the 17 yr old furnace for a very fair price. I can recommend Confortman with confidence.

Dan Goss' company has been taking care of my home in Embry Hills since 1999. When I first met Mr. Goss his business was called DeKalb CARE and many in our area still know it as that. Now as the Comfortman team, they continue to exceed expectations in several important ways. Dan's a down-to-earth good guy, good father, good husband, and a good neighbor. I could tell he was trustworthy from the get-go. He saves me money, even when he could make a bundle just bending the rules a little. He showed me a problem he'd diagnosed and how he could fix it fairly easily; then he explained another repair option; he explained that some HVAC techs would steer me to replacing a major part at great expense, but he was confident the minor repair was all I would need now and the system could perform for years just as -is. Time has proven he was right. He's always prompt and his work seems pretty quick & efficient, and the same goes for the employees I've met over these years. I called Don late on a Saturday night. He was here on Sunday and only charged me for a service call.
Seems there was a blown fuse, so he left me another fuse and told me to call back if it happened again.

3 days later it blew the fuse and the replacement. He was here within the hour. This time he found the problem, a tiny rub on a wire that shorted out the fuse.

He repaired and never charged me again.

I highly recommend Don, the Comfortman!

Great professional and caring service. Dan went over and above. Respect that he was on time and that he didn’t make the job out to be a bigger deal than it was. I don’t recommend many companies, but I’ll gladly recommend Comfortman to friends and family. (Which was how I found him!)

Our old school thermostat decided to die out on us on a Saturday evening on the coldest day of the year! We searched the NextDoor app and found so many recommendations for Dan at Comfortman. I called and he scheduled to come come out the next day (a Sunday). Dan showed up on time, replaced our thermostat with a new smart thermostat, and even checked our HVAC and replaced the filter. He did all of this at such a reasonable price too! I will be using him again and would suggest him to any of my neighbors in the Decatur or Tucker area.

The door switch on AC was broke, the technician from United Air temp switch off AC and ordered the switch, was told that it would come in 3 to 5 business days. It did not come in seven business days (sizzling 90F average!), me calling to Air temp was in vain.

Found Dan through the Nextdoor page, called him evening and he was able to squeeze me in next day.

He hooked up AC without a door switch, got a switch on a third day and all is fixed. Took him literary 15 minutes to diagnose and fix.

Totally recommend. Knowledgeable, responsive, recourse full, affordable, nice man.
You can rely on him, that's a teacher with more than 30 yrs experience talking. :-)

I called Comfortman (Dan) at 8am and explained that my central unit was not working. He arrived promptly at 1pm. He resolved the problem, was informative and friendly. I highly recommend him, and his fee was reasonable.

Owner, Dan Goss placed a new air conditioner in our home this summer, 2012. He is professional and knowledgeable. When I learned that we had had our water heater installed incorrectly, and that there was a potential for a carbon monoxide leak, I immediately called Dan. He was at our home the same day. He explained what needed to be done and gave me an estimate. Within 2 days of my initial phone call my water heater was re-installed correctly, with no potential leak hazard. When I thanked Dan for responding so quickly he answered, "I would have made time for this " Your stars need to go up to at least 5 for Dekalb C.A.R.E. I would recommend Dan and his business to everyone who appreciates an honest and qualified professional.

Dan was recommended by neighbors. Last night my heat stopped working and by this AM my home was unbearably cold. I called Dan at 8AM and he rearranged his schedule & arrived within couple of hours. My unit is in a crawl space & difficult to access. He quickly got into a tyvek suit & got my heat back on & redirected my frozen condensation line. Dan patiently answered my barrage of questions with consideration & detail. Glad I found this small family owned local business that provides great service with reasonable cost.
