J & R heating came to my home recently to repair a noisy air conditioning unit. They were punctual, thorough and went the extra mile to make sure I was happy. I will always call them in J & R Heating and Cooling in the future.

Very prompt response to our calls. We have used them for a repair as well as a replacement. I would highly recommend this company because the guy, Joe, is great! The work has held up. And the prices have been lower than anyone else around.

I left a voicemail about an emergency AC repair at 6:30pm, and got a call back within two minutes. He went to the house within another 45 minutes and solved the issue quickly and efficiently. Good pricing too! I will definitely use this company again in the future.

Several months ago, we had our roof replaced and immediately aftwards our upstairs AC unit went out and we had a really strange noise going on in the wall when the unit would run. We have a warranty company so we called and had someone come out to look at it. They first said the condensing unit was very dirty and needed to be cleaned as it had weakened the motor and that MIGHT solve the problem. I paid for a chemical cleaning (as they suggested) and it powered up and they were on their merry way. That same day, we realized it was still not cooling. We had the company come back the following day and they realized the freon was completely empty and believed there may be a crack that was exposed from all the dirt and grime being removed. They told me they would need to replace the condensor AND the inside unit as they were on the R22 system which was being phased out and the coils were bad as well.

Long story short... they wanted a few Ks to replace it. I wanted a second opinion. They told me the coils were totally fine but the condenser still needed to be replaced and there were many other issues. Again, they wanted a few Ks for that! The conflicting assessments just had me more frustrated so I thought I needed to talk to at least one more company. That’s where J&R heating comes in!!

Joe came over and I told him of my concerns. He did a thorough inspection and did things like test the now empty Freon line. He knew I had 2 other high end replacement bids and could have easily sold me on a similar path for replacement. He did not! He was sure the Freon line had been hit when the roofers did the replacement and that’s why we had the noise and the sudden loss of Freon. In moments he found the line that had, indeed, been hit by 2 nails!!! He only had to cut into the drywall ONCE and had the exact spot! He repaired everything for under 1k (Freon is far more expensive for r22). We have had no issues at all since! The AC has run flawlessly all summer so far.

Our family is grateful for his thoroughness, skill, and honesty. We will eventually need to replace 3 units (all on the R22 system) and his company will be the ONLY one that gets our business! Thank you for helping us out and being a person of such wonderful integrity!

Just recently had a new Rheem heat pump system & hair handler put in my house. I am extremely pleased with the system, the service and professionalism I received. Very good price and great warranty. My system works flawlessly so far and they even programmed my Nest thermostat for me. My house has a crawl space that sometimes gets water in it from the rain. Robin and Joe were able to schedule me an appointment on my only day off despite all the rainy days Georgia has had lately. J&R is probably one of the best small hvac companies around and the reviews speak for themselves. Thank you so much.

I believe I just witnessed the worst driving I’ve ever seen by a contractor vehicle today 7/30/24 on 316 near Lawrenceville. Vehicle was driving approximately 65mph only 5 feet from the car in front of them then decided to change lanes to go around them and they merged back over nearly into the side of the car they were passing. Almost caused a really bad wreck. 3 stars for maybe providing good hvac services.

Joe is wonderful and had a quick turnaround after diagnosing my AC issue. He walked through each product that was offered and made sure I was aware of all the details. Robin did a fantastic job at communicating to me regarding my scheduled appointments. I highly recommend J&R!

I had an issue with my air conditioning shutting off daily. Another company serviced my unit and I still had the same problem. I called and J&R Heating and Cooling and Joe came out the same day. He diagnosed the problem but had to pick up the part. He wired my system in a way that allowed me to still have air until he was able to come back the next day. He showed me exactly what was wrong and explained it in detail. He even mentioned a coupon that I could use to save me some money. He was very honest and professional. I will definitely use him again.

My AC stopped blowing when a new thermostat was installed. I called J&R and got Joe. He asked me a few questions about what happened. Then he actually walked me through the troubleshooting process! He said there’s no need to pay for them to come out and inspect since it’s probably just a fuse. With his help I quickly found the blown fuse. He spent about 15 minutes on the phone patiently explaining the steps. I now have AC again.
I will continue to use this company. Give them a shot.

TL:DR: second to none!

So far, only have received a quote, and have had some bumps in the road in replacing my AC, as mine is so old, the dinosaurs are laughing their buns off. Either way, Joe was very prompt in responding, came out in blazing heat and humidity, took measurements, explained why it wasn't a simple repair situation, and even went over the basic process with me. Joe is extremely personable and understanding.

I have also dealt with his accounting person (Robin) who quickly got our quote sent to us. She's been great as well, doing all she can to get our home back to being cooled again. Considering it has been rough for us financially as of late, she has been a breath of fresh air versus the highly aggressive companies, who made us feel like cogs in a wheel on an assembly line.

The warranty offered is leaps and bounds better than the many other quotes I received from other services (2 years parts and labor, 10 years parts). I have faith, now that we are going ahead with the install, that the end result is going to be just as good if not better than I expect. Prices are much closer to my estimate than other quotes as well. I have no doubt in my mind when I update this review upon completion, my 5 star rating will not change, and I'll have nothing but high praises to sing.

Update: As promised, here is an update. And as I fully expected, the 5 star review remains unchanged. I am further praising the "Joe and Robin" team as more than I expected. Joe was extremely prompt, courteous and professional. It was very clear that he could do a system install in his sleep. Whatever you need, a quick checkup, service, or replacement, don't let the fact that they are a smaller business compared to the competition means you will get a lesser quality job. From the get go, Joe is extremely detailed and meticulous in his execution, checking his work over and over, verifying and testing everything. He is very honest and not the "car salesman" type I noticed when I requested quotes from competitors, a couple of whom tried to sneak something by me.

Joe and Robin have a customer for life as long as I am living in this area, and will be the first place I recommend for anyone to go.

Met up with Joe and told him we need a complete HVAC system, furnace and A/C. He discussed a lot of details, but in a way us non-tech people could easily understand. Didn't try to up-sell or pressure into a system that we didn't or was out of our price point. The next day we received a detailed proposal with some options of changing efficiency or seer specs. We agreed on a system, scheduled a day when it wouldn't be raining and Joe and Mark showed up on the button and did their thing.
Job was done clean, fast and professional and we would absolutely recommend them to friends and neighbors!

Joe and the two guys working with him did a wonderful job replacing my HVAC system! They removed my old equipment and put in a new Rheem gas furnace and air conditioning unit. It now has a larger return plenum and a wide media filter. This new system heats and cools much better than the system I had. They also replaced my old thermostat with a programmable thermostat.

I received quotes from 3 companies based on Google ratings / reviews, and I chose to go with J&R because the price he quoted was great, and he didn't try to push anything on me that I didn't need.

I was very impressed with the finished product. You can tell these guys take pride in their work.

Joe has been servicing my HVAC in my home since it was built in 2006. The annual service agreement covers both AC and heating equipment.

J&R company is very professional. They work with your schedule when making appointments. Robin will call if you forget to schedule if you have an annual agreement. There has been time I forget and I will receive a call to see when I would like to schedule my maintenance.

Their pricing is comparable to other companies of the same business and very reasonable even for repairs.

J & R Heating and Cooling is the only business we will use for our air conditioning and heating needs. We have never dealt with a more friendly, knowledgeable, and honest company.

This past July, we had Joe install a 16 Seer system at a very reasonable price. Not only is the system heating and cooling our house much quicker and easier, it has saved us 50% on our gas bill! That is HUGE savings! Thanks, J&R!
