I feel like this owner may be prejudiced or simply doesn’t care for certain clienteles. He’s been called to my house twice and each time he said he’ll be back to fix the issue but never returned yet he’ll gladly charge you just for showing up. He won’t reply to your texts or calls either. I don’t like his business practices. The only reason we called him is because someone suggested them to us. It’s unfortunate that people that specialize in the services you need aren’t honest, fair, and reliable. If a job is too small for you, at least let people know instead of simply not showing when you say you will.

This review is a little late, but I wanted make sure J & R got the credit that they deserve.

I got excellent service from J & R back in June 2024 when the temperatures were soaring.

Here's my story...

I'm an out of town landlord. I own a 2 year old rental home in McDonough, GA. I don't know too many people in town and didn't know which AC company to trust.

I got a call from my tenant in early June. He said that the outside AC unit was making weird noise and needed attention. I called a contractor that had excellent reviews on Google. The contractor evaluated the situation and told me that I needed 1) a AC hard start kit and 2) refill of refrigerant with a total cost estimate of $794!!

This didn't make sense for a 2 year old house. The AC unit was under warranty, but warranty can't be claimed unless the system is broken (which was not the case - it was just making noise). I decided to sit on the situation for a while. I paid the diagnostics fee of $79 and let the contractor go without his recommended repairs.

A couple weeks later, the tenant called again and told me that the AC was not cooling anymore. This was stressful because the temps were near 100 and the tenant was hinting that he was "forced" to go to a hotel and I should pay for it.

I called J&R Heating and Cooling. They were initially completely booked, but called me back an hour later because there was a cancelation for the following day. I jumped on the appointment slot.

Joe (the owner) came out the next day and found that the system was in great condition. He noted that there was incorrect setting of the thermostat. The upstairs was set to heat to 77 and the downstairs was set to cool to 74. This must have screwed up the AC unit!

Anyways, Joe reset the thermostats appropriately and everything worked out well. No unnecessary repairs for a system that is only 2 years old.

I talked to Joe on the phone after the service and he was very helpful and kind.

I still don't know many people in McDonough, but now I have an AC guy that can trust!

Joe and Robin are a fantastic team. They worked us in when our AC died and got a new system installed and running in roughly 6 hours! Very professional and high quality work. We now have a maintenance plan with them to keep our system running at its best!

Just cause

I would definitely recommend this company to everyone I know. My technician was Red. He was great, on time, and friendly. I can tell he enjoys the work he does. He took the time to explain all services and repairs that were needed to get my HVAC up and running. Im truly happy and impressed that he was able to come out the very next day.

Excellent service. Red showed up before the time scheduled. He explained everything that was going on with our A/C systems and was very polite. Actually covered his shoes before walking in our carpet which was a plus. He didn't try to upsell on things that we didn't need.

Service tech "Red" is friendly and thorough. Solved all the issues in a reasonable time and at least at an appropriate cost even without gouging on an immediate need before Thanksgiving. I highly recommend.

Not going to use anyone else. From Kurt,Jonathan and his partner ( sorry forgot your name ) to Red ( Dustin ). Just an overall less stressful experience when you are under stress due to climate control issues. They are quick, professional, friendly and affordable. My experience with Kurt is he is very professional and experienced. He responded to my calls at 01AM in the morning and was willing to drive out to fix my issues in the middle of the night.

Jonathan explained in layman's terms what he would be doing and how the process would go and the furnace install which went quickly. To my surprise, after he finished, he grabbed a broom and cleaned the entire area leaving my house exactly how he found it. ( not many ppl would do this )

Dustin came out to double check the install. He was amicable, experienced, friendly, explained all aspects of the system if you had questions and adjusted my system to perfection. He also went out of his way to explain that if there was any aspect that we were not satisfied with to contact home temp solutions right away so they could come back out 24/7 and make it right. As stated above. Not using anyone else.

I'm happy that I chose Home Temp Solutions to do my repair. I first called them because of the reviews I read from other customers. They deserve everything that was said about the service they provide. Add me as another 5 star rating. Dustin (Red) was very knowledge and explained everything that needed to happen. I highly recommend HTS if you need any AC/ Heating repairs or maintenence.

Dustin “Red” Anderson was great! He was punctual, very professional, and honest. He found our issue, explained everything very well, and explained some other things about our system to help me better understand how to maintain everything. I love working with this company they are always on time and very proficient and knowledgeable.

Needed to disconnect 2 units for a retaining wall project and replace an older unit AC and Furnace. Kurt and his team were available to work with the timing of the wall project as it was weather dependent and communicated proactively throughout their work. My wife mentioned to me how polite and courteous the team was when they needed to do work inside the house. I appreciate reliable and courteous work as it seems to be hard to find these days. I would recommend Home Temp Solutions!

Last October I hired Home Temp Solutions to replace an HVAC unit, add air scrubbers, and install a dehumidifying unit. They did such a great job on that installation. I decided to hire them for the semi-annual HVAC maintenance. We have had two services so far and they have both been great. Red (Dustin) serviced both times. He is always on time, very thorough, and genuinely cares about what it best for the customer. In short, we are very happy to have this team servicing our home.

Our heat stopped working on a Sunday. I called like 5 companies at the same time and Home Temp Solutions was the most responsive and came over within a few hours. The issue was quickly identified and the new part was installed the next day. 5-stars.

On 9/17/25, we had our AC go out! Called my trusted, goto AC & Heat repair company, now known as Walk On Air! Love their new look and new logo! Red, our long time technician, was able to fit us in this afternoon! Red is great at what he does! He is a down to earth guy, who is very efficient, professional, and HONEST! Red deserves a RAISE!!! He’s awesome! We were just low on freon/ refrigerant! Thanks Red!!!
I”ve been using Kurt & his company, Home Temp Solutions, out in Peachtree City since I bought my home in 2009. Patrick & Kurt installed a new heat pump system yesterday for my upstairs area! They are an honest & reliable company. Took their time and answered both mine and my husband’s questions! Never tried to up sale us on anything we didn’t need!
In 2023 Red serviced our other unit and fixed an ongoing issue within a short amount of time! He has a great personality, always professional, honest and on time. Thank you to Home Temp Solutions( now know as Walk On Air. I will continue to use them for all our AC & Heating needs!

German did a great job. I had just taken over a commercial space with no knowledge of the unit and he was definitely a problem solver who got the job done! From an unbearable mid 80 degrees to low 70s in no time- thank you!
