Very greedy company. My children will be in the cold this weekend. Ill never do business with them again

I love this company. They have always been wonderfully professional. The gentlemen installing our furnaces in our apartments were amazing fast quality work. They prepared everything they day before in all 4 units and then installed all furnaces the next day in all 4 units, in the cold with no complaints all employees working wonderfully together. And Jessica always so sweet… great way to call a company and speak to such a sweet woman. Always informative and helpful and friendly. Benefits of using a small locally Vermont owned business ❤️

A 5-minute "service call" shouldn't cost over $200. It just shouldn't. One wire was reattached. I would have been happy to pay a reasonable price for the service, and expressed so to White's directly, but they chose instead to stand by their outrageous invoice.

In response to the owner, that is in fact not what happened. I made it very clear it was not an emergency service request and the technician came a few days after the phone call. The furnace is for backup heat only, the home is heated with wood, so I was never without heat.

It's true the technician did attempt to troubleshoot the issue with me during that first phone call, but there was not a follow up call. I did request the technician to come take a look and was prepared to pay for the service. As it turned out, the technician screwed in one single screw, reattaching the thermostat wire that I failed to notice. I take responsibility for that, and was glad to have it "repaired", but does screwing in a single screw justify a charge of over $200?? And what was the Hazardous Waste Fee for in this case??? I apologized for essentially wasting the technician's time, to which he responded it was no big deal, it was on the way to the next job.

Again, I am more than happy to pay people for their time and pay well, but I also don't expect to be gouged as I would never do that to my own clients. The owner and I spoke about the issue, and he doubled down on the charges. For my part, building relationships of trust and respect with clients is most important, but perhaps that's not so for White's Heating.

We have been customers of Whites Heating for almost a decade. Always prompt oil deliveries. This year we needed a new oil tank. When the tank was being replaced the three services technicians were beyond polite and respectful of our property and belongings. They went above and beyond to make sure our house/business was kept clean while they worked. They needed to move a few rugs and wall mounted shelves. Upon completing the job they put everything back together exactly the way it was before. Could not be happier with the service and experience we have had with them. Highly recommend

I would like to say a very huge thank you to the team at whites. Ray an Casey have been amazing to work with they go above and beyond. Very respectful and they don’t leave you in the dark they explain what’s going on. They have spent many hours here at my house and I honestly can’t thank them or the rest of the team at whites enough. Your work and your time is so appreciated. White’s Heating truly has the best customer service. Our furnace kept shutting off—even though it had been cleaned just two months earlier—and at first we thought maybe the oil tank was reading wrong. We added oil, but the furnace still kept shutting off.
I spoke with Pat, one of their service techs, and he was absolutely outstanding. He walked me through everything on the phone, and we thought we had it running again. Pat told us that if at any point during the night the furnace stopped and we were cold, to call him. He even called the next morning to check on us, which meant so much.
The furnace had shut off again, and Pat came right out. It turned out to be the igniter, and he fixed it quickly. I have never experienced customer service as good as what he provided. This is exactly why we continue to use White’s Heating—we never have to worry about the service they provide.

These guys are responsive and fair

They are reliable, tidy, fairly priced, trustworthy. They service my business, Nino's and did a great residential job coordinating all the contractors for a mini split and gas backup generator for my parents who were at the medical center.

We had a mini-split pump installed in November of last year by Red Merle Mechanical. Phil was a pleasure to work with—he was professional, on time, and worked quickly! I would recommend him and his business to anyone looking for a heat pump install. We have been using it almost daily with no issues.

Phil was a great communicator, very efficient worker and helped us formulate a great plan to have mini split and heat pumps. Would highly recommend!

Edit: Phil went above an beyond helping us ensure that we loved every aspect of our heat pumps. We was also a great liaison when communicating with Mitsubishi. I'd rate him higher than 5 stars if I could!

Red Merle Mechanical is fantastic. Mr Martin is a true professional! I contacted him about installing a split type A/C / Heat unit. He gave me price options/ pros&cons of several units, to include the VT and tax rebates available. He was punctual, knowledgeable, did excellent installations of the products and was an absolute pleasure to work with. He is a breath of fresh air compared to the many other tradesman I’ve had dealings with in the past. I highly recommend his services.

This is a stellar company that is small, responsive, and professional. I am an architect and very particular about how an installation looks in the interior of a home. Phil was very attuned to my concerns and worked to be sure l was satisfied, even if it took more time in the install. He and his crew were a pleasure to work with. l highly recommend them. You will be very satisfied and they stand behind their work.

Excellent experience with Red Merle Mechanical. They put in a heat pump for me, were helpful in sizing the most efficient system for the home with very reasonable pricing, and fit me quickly into their schedule. I could not have asked for better service. The entire experience was extremely positive and I’ve already recommended them to friends.

Working with Phil and his team was truly a fantastic experience from start to finish. They arrived promptly at the scheduled times, which was refreshing and demonstrated their professionalism. Throughout the project, they worked meticulously and maintained a clean workspace, taking care to tidy up any mess created each day, which I greatly appreciated.

Phil was exceptionally accommodating to all of my requests; he took the time to consult with me on the placements of both the outdoor and indoor units, ensuring they were strategically positioned for optimal functionality and aesthetic appeal. He even allowed me to paint the line hide to match the color of my house, which helped the installation blend seamlessly with the exterior.

Additionally, I found that his pricing was considerably lower than several other quotes I had received, without compromising on the quality of service. Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend Phil and his team for their outstanding work and customer-focused approach.

Phil and his crew installed heat pumps for us last year, and we couldn't be happier. He was honest, reasonably priced, friendly, and fair to work with. He took a great deal of time to answer all our questions and guide us throughout the process. And when a minor issue revealed itself the day after the installation was complete, he was profusely apologetic and out in less 30 mins to address it (impressive, given that we seem to live 45 minutes from everywhere). Highly recommend.

Service was outstanding as always! My 4 year old son loves when they come because he thinks they’re here for him. Very professional and great at explaining what is being done. They installed a new water heater two weeks ago but we noticed a leak in one of the pipes. Came out as soon and they could and replaced the pipe. Will be working with them in the near future to replace all of the old pipes in the house.

Austin and Toby were here for HOURS. My vents were bad. Real bad. I saw before and after pics and videos and I was truly shocked. Pretty sure our dryer was about to catch on fire! I highly recommend this company and these two men! Thanks guys!

Very quick to help, explained the process in detail and kept me informed. I beleive the pricing was a decent deal considering it wasnt just work they needed to do, but some extremely skilled and knowledgeable troubleshooting in order to resolves what problems I had. Also did not seem like they tried to make up issues to get more money. Trustworthy and very helpful.

The representative Charlie Zalewiski, came to inspect my air condition unit this morning for my summer tune up. Charlie is always very timely. friendly and very knowledgeable in his job. Upon completion he told me all was well with our unit. As always Charlie was in and out and it is a pleasure doing business with him.
