I found Nick through Efficiency Vermont and couldn't be happier. He came out to look and measure to recommend a unit. He was patient with the whole process of a home energy loan. Any paperwork we needed he was helpful to provide information and signature so that process went quite quick too. From the day we paid deposit to the day we had a running mini-split was 5 days. We were very happy with the two subcontractors he choose for the cement pad and the electrical hook-up; professional, personable and friendly. Those things are important when workman are in your home. Nick's install showed skill, attention to detail and professionalism in every aspect. He took time to show us the interface and ensured we were comfortable with the workings. He set us up with a Samsung unit as we allowed his experience to make those decisions. He explained why he preferred them and how they were better. Nick answered every and any questions we had. From his personal demeanor to his professional experience to his willingness to see the project from start to finish; Nick made a satisfied customer and a fan. Anyone in the area (Rutland county and surrounding) would be well served to call this business for your HVAC needs.

We were recommended FMK by our propane provider. We needed to have maintenance checks and services on a direct vent gas fireplace, a gas stove, a central gas heating unit, and a gas workshop heater located in South Hero, VT. The units had never been looked at since installation so they were long overdue. Overall, we were impressed with the timely communication and with the service with FMK from the start to the finish. Joe, the owner, was our technician. He was extremely knowledgeable and he informed us throughout each of the unit checks. His business is a family one and they do more than just heating. We feel so relieved to finally have a reliable, reasonable, and responsive “go to” company that can help us with all of our future heating, plumbing, air (and more) needs.

I highly recommend FMK Heating and Cooling due to the professional yet friendly manner in which they deal with their clients. Had him install a heat pump. He left it unfinished for months not returning my calls and messages. Hired another HVAC company who confirmed he messed up pretty bad. He only replied when I threatened to sue and finally returned to reimburse me and remove the system. He made it right but I had to hold him accountable. Never recommending FMK.

Furnace was not working properly. They came within 2-3 hours after calling FMK. Very knowledgeable about my problem and explained everything. Would highly recommend this company and will have them do the furnace cleaning they recommended.

Joe with FMK Heating & Cooling was great to work with. He installed a Bosch heat pump/AC and associated attic duct work for me. High quality work, thorough, and attention to detail. Courteous and pleasant to deal with. Responsive to questions and concerns. Would recommend highly.

Joe was very knowledgeable about the systems in my new (to me) house, both the boiler and the propane heater in the garage. He did a thorough tune-up and inspection, all while sharing knowledge and explaining things to me to keep things running smoothly, as well as highlighting the unfortunate problems left for me by the previous owner. I look forward to consulting with Joe again about possible solutions and to get his experience in solving some plumbing mysteries as well, now that I know he does plumbing as well.

Contacted FMK to have our boiler serviced approx December 20th. Technician arrived and dismantled and said a valve needed replacing and would wait to see if there was a warranty on the part. Emailed FMK two weeks later (Just after Jan 1) about an update and was told they were still waiting on an update.
Now it is 2/12, no email, no update. I have emailed at least twice. No contact. I was charged $150 which I paid promptly, but no service was performed.

They called back immediately when I left them a message and showed up the next day to inspect my furnace. He told me that I would need about $300 in parts that they had to order, and would be here Monday. They would give me a call by Tuesday at the latest and we would schedule something for the end of the week. Tuesday night, I called and asked for an update after not hearing from them. They called me Wednesday morning, saying the parts were delayed, but would be there that day or the next, and they would call me by Thursday. Thursday night, after no communication, I texted them asking update. They texted back that the parts were still late and they would be here Monday, and they would definitely get my furnace repaired by Christmas. It is now the Sunday, three days after Christmas, and I still have not received a call letting me know that the parts have arrived and to schedule service, my furnace is still not working properly. The only time I receive any communication from them is asking me to submit a review and give them a great review so they can be the top rated service in Fairfax, even though they've done no work for me. They've only been here to look at my furnace and give me the runaround waiting for parts. But they are constantly asking me to leave them a review. I've received zero calls from them that I that aren't returning a call from me, but I have received at least five unsolicited requests to leave them a review. So here's the review.

Edit: Oddly enough, Joe sent an email immediately after I left this review, saying that the part we've been waiting 2.5 weeks for arrived yesterday and he wanted to schedule the repair tomorrow. Once again, zero communication unless I make the first move. I do not trust him to repair my furnace now.

Had an emergency with some leaking water. They came out within an hour and took care of the issue. Very professional, reliable and reasonable pricing!

Amazing Experience!
Matt replaced both hot and cold water walves for my in-unit washer.
After going through multiple plumbers, I can definitely say that he provided the best quote and knew what he was doing.

Don't hire them!! they replumbed my sink. I realized it was leaking. Called them several times, they said they were too busy and they will call when they have somebody available. That was in March....still waiting!

Where do I start?
1. No delays.
2. People of their words.
3. Prompt and hard working.
4. Priced right - no pressure.
5. Recommended by my plumber who is retiring and moving to FL.
6. Honorable mentions: David was very personnable and went out of his way far above and beyond the call. He fixed the bottom step of my stairs to my basement. My ex-husband never even bothered to do it.

While waiting installation day, Mike brought over a safe heater to keep my basement to a comfortable temperature until my new furnace was installed and running.
7. The level of care from David, Mike, Dale and crew was outstanding.
8. Folks, switching an old furnace to a new one is hard and trying work. Dale hummed along and did the work
with professionalism and care.
9. My natural gas furnace is efficient and clean.
10. Lastly, if I could give 10 stars, I would. I recommend Yankee 100%.

Won't return calls.
They ordered the wrong parts. No big deal. But they didn't tell us they ordered the wrong parts, just left us hanging. Six weeks later, still no parts and they won't return our calls. Can't do business like this. Update: Tammy is very helpful when you get her. Call in the morning (7am). Job done, so far so good.

Had an issue with my furnace. Plumber came out took a look installed a check valve that didn't resolve the issue. Said he'd come back no called/no showed. Office will not pick up or call back.

Yankee has helped me with boiler leaks, toilets, sink issues, etc.

Recently they installed a new boiler. I had a hard deadline to get it done before selling my house. They were able to fit me in and Adam and Kyle were great to have in the house and worked around my schedule showing the house to prospective buyers.

Tammy was great getting back to me quickly to get scheduled, etc.

All around a great experience.

And they're family owned which I really like.

I have been using Greenwoods Plumbing and heating for several years and have always received good service and fair pricing. They have done everything from routine maintenance and repairs, to even replacing all of my copper piping a few years ago when my house was broken into and all of the copper piping was stripped out by burglars.
