On Friday September I called Lachance Plumbing to come to a rental unit I own for a problem with the gas water heater. They were the company that had installed them for me originally. The technician said the control was not working correctly which caused my tenant to either run out of hot water or for it to be scalding hot. The technician said I should replace it because it was nine years old already. He said it would be $2,000.00. I asked if he could do any better, he called his boss and told me that his boss had made an error when he quoted me the price because he was looking at an old price but he would honor the original quote of $2,000.00 & he would be able to install it on Tuesday because it was Labor Day weekend. On Tuesday morning before 7:30 am I called to tell Lachance that I wanted to check with another company to check to see if I was doing the right thing and I would call him back shortly, which I did. I called him back before 9:30 am to have him do the work. The receptionist said she would check & call me right back. I waited one and a half hours and I called back and spoke with a different receptionist who then informed me that they would not be able to do it until later in the week. She said they had two other heaters to install. I explained that I was supposed to be on the schedule for today & that I told the owner I would call him back shortly & I did. I said you mean he just doesn't want to do it. She said no he'll do it but not until later in the week, keep in mind my tenants have been without hot water since Friday & it is now Tuesday. I said I was only trying to make sure I was doing the right thing. So I had no choice to call another plumber & they came within 2 hours to install it and charged me less than $1800.00. He had said it should have been $2300.00. So the moral of this story is Mr Lachance was not being honest or responsible in the way he treated me. Be sure you check everything before you do business with Lachance Plumbing.

The first time I used Lachance, was to fix a hot water tank. Theresa was very pleasant and got me someone to go over within hours. They took care of the problem the same day.

The second time it was to replace my boiler. I called multiple companies for quotes however these other companies had either outrageous pricing, didn't want to take the old boiler, wanted to use the cheapest brand, etc.

When I called Lachance, Theresa, the customer service rep, told me that they couldn't schedule until a few days after but would call me back to see what she could do since I explained that there was no heat. She called me back within a few minutes and said that she will squeeze me in to get someone out within an hour. Bill, the owner, very nice and humble guy, called me to describe the type of work that was going to be done, brand of the unit, etc. The price was reasonable and brand (Weil McLain) that they use, is one of the best and most importantly that they will move their schedule around to get the job done the same week. I hired them to do the job. They went on Friday morning, same week, replaced the boiler and took the old one the same day. Nothing was left behind and the area was clean.

I had read previous reviews stating that Theresa was rude or had terrible customer service, etc. I had nothing but great service and very good communication with her. Awesome job and great service! Thank you guys!

A no frills plumber that does the job right. I've tried several plumbers before using Lachance Plumbing and they all acted like Kings. Lachance has been responsive, professional, and their prices are reasonable. They explain to me what they plan to do and why. The office staff has patience when dealing with a frustrated me trying to get something done yesterday.

I am very grateful for the promptness in this company for our need for a new water heater unexpectedly. However, as a first time home owner, there is no manual on questions to ask at what time when it comes to these kinds of expenses. I had questions, yes after the fact, BUT it did NOT excuse the arguing, the talking over, and threatening to call the cops of the lady I spoke with about finances. I was appalled by the customer service that was given. There is NO excuse for a company to talk like this to a customer. I would NEVER not pay for a service, I was just asking questions and figuring out how to make it work. Thank you to the guys who installed our water heater! I do appreciate it!

LaChance put in my mini split air conditioners earlier this month, it was a great 3 man crew. They listened to what I wanted, came up with a great design and worked diligently for the two days. The final job looked great and the units are working well. I want to thank the whole crew for their attention to detail, their great work ethic and how professional they were. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

I just wanted to say that I've been a repeat customer with Lachance for decades, and this review is long overdue. I had them out to install our gas supplied, forced hot water heating system, they also did a complete job for our irrigation system hookup, another job was our water deduct meter. Every two years, I have them come out to do routine maintenance on our furnace. They have also come out to address some leaky toilet tank issues. Why do I keep calling them? Well, I feel like I am treated like family when I call them. Their rates are reasonable. They are on time and the employees are amazingly courteous and professional. I would like to mention by name, Al, Dan, Dominic and the young lady who answers the phone; I'm sorry I didn't get your name! Thank you Lachance Plumbing and Heating!

Naturally lachance services my equipment. I tried fixing an item and made another worse. They were out within an hour. Resolved my problem that I made and all is good.

Do not use for water boiler cleaning. Lachance had been completing our yearly boiler cleaning for the last few years. The last time it was "cleaned" was at the end of May. So Imagine my surprise that we come back home this past Sunday and our boiler won't turn on. We had to do emergency service from another company just to be told our boiler was so dirty it shut down, and that it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years. Feel like we have been ripped off.

Edit. Called Lachance and instead of talking responsibility, they tried saying it's possible for the boiler to get that dirty in a short period of time.

This is disappointing as they have done repairs on our boiler in the past with good results. Buyer beware if you are considering using Lachance.

I had a furnace failure for a tenant on a weekend. The reception staff was quick to communicate with their emergency technician, and he helped determine the most cost-effective approach based on the situation. The dispatcher called first thing Monday morning and a technician named Jonathan was onsite in Portsmouth within the hour. He was friendly and helpful throughout, communicating the needed equipment, repair plan, and timing. He was back onsite first thing Tuesday morning with the motor and pulley special-ordered the previous day to repair my 40+ year old furnace. Could not recommend the team at Brookside more highly.

On a scale of 1-10 Brookside is an 11. We were so pleased with Johnny, our service representative’s, thoroughness. Next year I will request him to service our system. Thanks! Paul and Pat, Cape Neddick., ME

I was very satisfied with Jonathan's work with Brookeside. Jonathan was meticulous, thorough and pleasant to have in our home. LpleHe showed me things about my units operation that is helpful for me to know. I would recommend him and Brookside for any of your hvac needs.

Rich and Kyle did a great job as always! They were respectful of the premises, Extremely knowledgeable, answered all of my questions and concerns. Brookside has been maintaining my systems and installing new systems for me for years. I’d highly recommend them to anybody without hesitation.

Brookside was responsive when I had a furnace repair needed during these cold temps! They kept me informed of a technician arrival and even have a tracking site so I wasn’t waiting and wondering when they would arrive. Alex and Mac stayed on the problem until it was resolved and even helped me check every zone, adjusting dampers as needed! Great company and technicians!

Very reliable service. The technician was very nice and he was able to identify that a capacitor was blown and he replaced it for us. He also went out of the way and inspected our attic to point out another problem unrelated to our HVAC.

Annual service of 2 residential AC units. The Brookside tech, Johnny Mackenzie, was knowledgeable and professional. He made several good recommendations and provided insight into air quality issues and remedies. We will definitely use Brookside again!

The tech Attikin, was attentive and patient. He was open to questions and was focused on doing a thorough job. He ran into a couple of snags and promised follow up setting the next appointment in home. It was a level of service that is becoming increasingly rare.

Had him come do a tune up on my ac condenser for my house amazing job would definitely recommend him.

Called air pro to install a system from me gave a very fair quote under any other company and did phenomenal work it looks amazing and works great would recommend air pro to anyone trying to get a system at their house.

Air pro installed multiple split heat pumps in my home. Incredible workmanship, fantastic service and a great price. Highly recommended top-notch.

Can’t tell u what an exceptional job he did on our central cooling system in our condo. U have to keep up the maintenance right? Well he did by being particular with his knowledge, professionalism, quality, reliability along with customer service satisfaction & pride in is work. Even came back to our house after on his way by to make sure we were satisfied the next day. He will keep u updated on anything that ur wondering about. Highly recommended AIR PRO HVAC.
