Paul was very communicative and transparent with their work and the pricing. He arrived promptly and did the work very quickly. We had work on our oven (an ignitor that was no longer working). Our oven works great now. Would highly recommend and would use Northside again for any future needs.

We recently had Northside Appliance Services out to do a repair on our fridge. While they ultimately successfully repaired the fridge, we encountered a couple of issues that made the overall experience not so great.

The main thing was that they put dents into our floor when moving the fridge. When we brought this to their attention, their technician’s response was, “I’m not liable for what your fridge does to your floor!” He could have had some cardboard with him, or could have used some kind of mat. The company has been around a while (part of why we went with them), so you’d think that they’d know to prepare for this, but they didn’t.

And this all occurred on their *second* visit to fix our fridge. Prior to their first visit, we gave them our fridge’s make and model, and accurately described our issue ( after some research, we suspected a frozen drain line ). When they showed up, they didn’t have the tools to fix the issue. We had to pay a visit fee and then have them come back another day to fix it.

So, will this company fix your fridge? Yes. Do you need to be extra careful about how they work when in your house? Also yes. Do their technicians need to take measures to not damage people’s homes when working? Most definitely.

Paul at Northside Appliance Services is wonderful! Paul is very quick to respond, very direct in providing perspective on pricing for the service and was helpful in repairing my Jade brand oven. Paul helped to locate the necessary parts at a better price than I could find and was willing to schedule the return visit before the parts arrived. He simply requested that I call him to confirm the parts (ignition switch and burner assembly) were delivered prior to him coming out for the installation. I will definitely call Northside Appliance Services if I need additional repairs on my Jade oven and range.

Paul was conveniently available, professional, fairly priced, and got the job done well. I'd happily hire him again.

Northside Appliance Service is a 5-star company. Paul was polite and professional. He arrived on time and diagnosed the issue with my LG stove and immediately made the repairs. However, before starting the work he showed me the cost of the replacement part and labor. The price was fair and reasonable, and the work was done expeditiously. I will not hesitate to use Northside Appliance Service in the future.

Paul is the "Appliance Whisperer". He can fix any appliance ever made (except toasters). And he does it with complete authority. He gave me free diagnosis over the phone so I could fix my washer myself. Who does that?! Seriously, call him next time your refrigerator stops running or your dishwasher stops draining. You will be so glad you did. Best in the business!

Northside Appliance Service are now my number one go-to for appliance repair. Northside Appliance rocks! If you call your appliance manufacturer regarding a repair, most will connect you with Diamond Factory Service. DON'T! Good luck getting them to actually show up and service the appliance. The tag line on their trucks should read, "We don't care. We don't have to care." (They have somewhere around 70 one star reviews.) After Diamond screwed up the repair and re-installation of my dishwasher; leaving it in the counter crooked and not level. The Technician said, "Best I can do. Have a good day. Bye." I called Northside. They arrived within the two hour window they promised, analyzed the problem, repaired the issue and then correctly reinstalled the dishwasher. All in under an hour. The cost actually came in a little less than originally quoted. You can't miss with Northside.

Paul did a fine job repairing an old washing machine with hard to find parts. It took three trips to find all the leaks on my old machine, but Paul was able to keep it operational while we waited for all the parts, and now I have a dry floor and clean clothes.

Paul was communicative, quickly and methodically diagnosed the issue with my washer, and also cleaned out my dryer (which was a last-minute request). Price was reasonable. I'd definitely use their services again.

They were able to come out the same day I called to check my fridge 2 days before Christmas. Unfortunately it was DOA and the parts are no longer available. But I was so grateful to learn that in time to order a new one that could be delivered quickly since I had a house full of guests. They also gave me good advice.

Paul is fantastic. We worked with him first in 2018. When an issue cropped up this year, we remembered our great experience and he was the only person we considered. He did not disappoint this time either. When a need arises again, there is no doubt that we'll call Paul again.

Paul was the best. They confirmed the appointment in both email and text so that I could pass it along to everyone who need to meet Paul. He came out on the coldest day of the winter never complaining. Then he spent the time to find the "ghost leak" which turns out was not from the washer but from the drain pipe on the laundry tub. He also confirmed that the washer was in good shape. Could not ask for more. Thank you.

Despite my perhaps impatient request for expedited service on a kitchen gas range issue, the customer representative remained calm, courteous, and highly professional. They quickly located a technician who arrived within an hour.

The technician was equally impressive—professional, respectful, and efficient, which, in my experience, is not always common in this field. Pricing was clear and fair from the outset. I appreciated that the necessary parts and repair process were clearly explained, and I received a detailed quote by text, including both parts and anticipated labor costs.

Having moved to Chicago from San Francisco three years ago, this was my first experience with a local appliance service—and it exceeded expectations. Compared to my experiences in San Francisco, the difference was truly night and day. I will definitely be calling them again.
