The location in Lyons did a hydro jetting in June, my condo flooded again in July. I called six times for emergency service, nobody showed up. I spoke to the owner he said he would charge me if they came out. Not only did I have to pay someone else, but I had to pay for a very costly cleanup.

Over Charged my elderly sister, left a mess, didn't bother to clean up, didn't put anything back, didn't cover up anything. Dust and Debris everywhere! She is asthmaticandthe dust went through the vents up into the house. Just awful! She asked about the warranty and he told her to read her contract! Called to complain was hung up on..told to leave a message for the manager no one has returned the call yet!! Would not recommend a them at all. Anytime you treat a senior the way they treated my elderly sister, they deserve not even the one star that I am giving them! Very Unprofessional!! Will never used their Business again!

Fraudulent. Illegitimate and Not Sorry About it at all. Buyer Beware

They will not honor their warranty. They will take advantage of your emergency situation and diagnose non-working repair suggestions that you don't need, like: $1,500 hydro-jetting, when all you need is a simple rod at $450. They will not talk about it with civility over the phone. They will be rude and indignant. They will not take any responsibility for a mis-diagnosis and they will make a mountain of excuses as to why nothing is their fault. This company should take more honor in their work, but they likely won't. Therefore, until then, save your pockets and save your time by going with another firm

I have to call for emergency crew first thing on Monday morning. To my surprise guys did show up decently fast. Few hours later, the work was done. Adam showed good knowledge and professionalism, leaving clean room after his work. Highly recommend.

Outstanding! First time we encountered a clogged sewage or sewer. We called the company and in an hour Daniel came. Did a good job, He did not stop until He fixed the problem. We found out a lot of root trees in our pipes causing the clogged. Almost 2 hours working on it. I salute Him! Very hard working person. Thank you so much for all you've done.

I manage a rental property and have hired Rooter several times, both for emergency and maintenance work. They have been reliable, communicative, and professional—and the guys are just good people (shoutout Tommy and Jesse). Over the past few years, I have used a handful of different plumbing companies, and these are the best by far. Gladly recommend their services.

Adam and Hector were the best. I had to have a gas line moved and the original person that came out said they couldn’t do the job without tearing up my cabinets, they were able to install a new line in a timely manner and without destroying my whole kitchen. Strongly suggest these guys for all your gas needs. Thanks again guys

I had 4 plumbers come out to our establishment and charged us thousands of dollars and could not fix the problem with drain leaking water. Adam offered there hydro jet service and it resolved our issue right away. They came out in less then hour and service was fast and efficient. I would recommend this service to anyone having blocked of clogged pipes

    Thanks

Professional, and Timely. Solved my problem quickly, and left the work area cleaner than it was when they arrived.

So the person who fixed my urinal was of great help and did his job thoroughly. The business model for this company isn't very professional or honest. I was told it would be $250 to stop my urinal from leaking. Little did I know it takes 15 seconds to shut off the water.....charging $250 for that is excessive. I asked them to repair the urinal and he told me he waived the $250 fee since Im using them to fix my urinal. Apparently, it was only a tiny little gasket that needed to be replaced and that only took no more than 10 minutes. I thought that was great and assumed I would get a better rate considering they thought it could have been much worse where it was a job that would take a couple of hours.. I was completely wrong.....I was charged $450 to change a tiny gasket in my urinal that took a total of 10 minutes...won't be using their service anymore.

We had a kitchen sink backup in our ground-floor condo unit on a Sunday evening. The plumbers arrived within an hour and routed the drain twice with no success. While one of them tried a third time, the second went down to the building garage to listen at the point where the common drain attaches to the sewer. Sure enough you could hear and feel the rodding knocking about in the pipe. But still no luck clearing the drain. They offered to return the next day with a truck to jet the line at a cost of $1800. We signed the proposal but since the pipe is a common drain we reviewed the situation Monday morning with our condo management company. They have a designated plumber and also noted that the cost to the association would be far less. So we cancelled the jetting but paid out of pocket at Sunday evening rates for the work of the two plumbers we had engaged from Captain Rooter. The next day the association's plumbers appeared at our door with the same type of power rodder fitted with a 75-foot cable and corkscrew end. They successfully cleared the clog. They asked about the plumbing job of the previous evening and thought possibly the Captain Rooter equipment cable was too short. In fact, the plumbers on Sunday had some dialog between them about the rodder on their truck having been switched - not by them - to one with a shorter cable that was missing a corkscrew at the tip. So in the end we are left with a distinct feeling that Captain Rooter arrived with equipment that wasn't adequate for the task, and then offered a jetting alternative at a price that seems far above the average for our area. Jetting vs rodding is a debatable issue but in our case the management company decided to begin with normal rodding. While the Captain Rooter guys were professional, personable, and worked hard for the hour they spent on our drain, the experience for us was a costly disappointment.

This is my first time using Captain Rotor. Jesse were very professional in assessing what needed to be done regarding installing a new pump. The guys were very professional the entire time. Oscar and the other guys were very expeditiously to get the work done as this was a very tedious job. I will be using this company again for my plumbing needs. I would highly recommend Captain Rotor for my plumbing needs. Thank you very much for your awesome service! I am a happy customer!

Amazing!!!! Not only did Captain Rooter clear out my root infestation that every other company couldn’t do and said that I need a clean out installation and dig up my yard cause the cutter opening was to small and couldn’t clear out line ! Then the Captain Came out and suggested that hydro jetting would clear out line and the roots and I wouldn’t have to dig up anything , So... ok. Let see if this is true , long be hold 2 hours later clean as a whistle they showed me with the camera before and after I was impressed and saved me Thousands on top of that !!!! The real deal hydro jetting saved the day!!! you learn something new every day thanks guys!!

After the Chicago/Cicero/Berwyn Great Flood of 2023, I called Captain Rooter and was able to have Andrew come out same day. He was able to get an emergency permit and the work was completed in a day. Communication was professional. I was kept informed about everything from start to finish and everything was explained to where it made sense. I highly recommend this company.

I had Adam and another representative in my home on 5.11 to inspect possible leaks from a letter I received from the City. Adam and the other rep did a great job, I paid them, and I thought our positive experience ended there. On Saturday, 5.16 I went to my basement to get my BBQ materials, (which happened to also be the place where Adam and the rep inspected for possible leaks and were left unattended for an extended period) and I found that my lighter fluid bottles were missing. I couldn't believe that it could have been Adam or the other rep, so I spent an hour looking and finally concluded that it was indeed gone and that Adam and the rep have been the only ones in my home since the purchase of the lighter fluid and the March 17th stay-at-home order. Captain Rooter was very responsive to the complaint, but I didn't appreciate that the manager tried to argue with me over the lighter fluid reimbursement. I did receive my reimbursement, but wont be hiring this company again simply because I cannot ensure the honesty and integrity of the reps they send out. I mean who steals lighter fluid!

I was doing a renovation when COVID hit. At that time I converted my pantry to a laundry room. Fast forward a year and a half and I can finally make it a working laundry area. But come to find out the "contractor" I hired did not connect the splice for the gas line. It's a year and a half later so what can I do? I called after doing a google search for gas inspection and lucky for me Roxanne arranged for Manny to come out same day. He was able to connect the gas line properly and now I can use my new washer and dryer. Thank you!! I'm so glad it wasn't a gamble.

We called for a free estimate, tech came quickly which was wonderful. Gave us a quote to which we agreed to. 30min later tech tells us that we have a hard block and is unable to do the job for the agreed price but but still has to collect half of the agreed quote. This place is a complete scam. If its an easy fit sure they maybe great but if its something different then quoted they are going to charge you either way a hefty price. I called to complain and ask why this wasn't explained before the tech even came out, I got a very condescending manager who asked me "so you think we should work for free?" That's not what I said I called to ask why your company isn't transparent with the customers. Bottom line the quote isn't free. You have to pay $185 for it or more depending on your quote, and its not a complete diagnostic. Be aware!!

btw they have an F grade with the BBB. Please don't panic and make the same mistake I did and allow these frauds into your home.

We had a problem with our sewage line and called these guys to come and fix it as they had hydro jet our line before. They arrived late and took a look at the problem. We had some issue finding the sewage cap as we didn’t know exactly where it was on the property. They told us to dig for it, it would be a $185 charge. Then, they proceeded to tell us that in order to hydro jet the line, they’d need to remove my toilet - a $435 job. I told them to keep digging, verbally agreeing to the additional $185. I stepped away for a few minutes to see if I could find documentation of where the sewage cap was, and they left. Packed up their stuff and drove away. We eventually found the cap and called them back, and they were able to fix the problem, but then told us of a potentially larger issue. Given their track record and similar experiences I’ve seen, I don’t trust them at all. Will never be using these guys again.

We had a backed up drain and Bob was out to clean it out. What was supposed to be a routine job turned into a nightmare. He came in and a few minutes into it he stared there was a problem. His tool was stuck in the pipe, and we may have to open the wall. This being a newly remodeled unit this was not what we wanted to hear. He proceeded to try and retrieve it for a few hours, Jesse came out and we discussed options. One was to cut and leave the tool in the drain or we cut open the wall and pipe to retrieve it. They would then patch the pipe but we would be responsible for the repairs. I explained that this was not the best situation for me but what else can we do. Without a bathroom the unit could not be occupied. So we vacated and let them do their work.
We set up to open the wall and they cut the pipe out make their repair and it was to be done. Or so I thought. During the process they left the faucet open and all would’ve been fine but the repair they may leaked just as if it was a second faucet. It was a copper pipe and rather than sweat (weld) they installed this make shift sleeve and never tightened it. The unit was flooded and worse of leaked to several units below. We were able to dry out the unit and With the patching that had to be done it was like redoing a bathroom all over and they did not pay for any of it.
To make matters worse our neighbor got the grunt of of the water in her bathroom and it needed repairs. I spoke with Jesse and explained that things happen and we will make do with our unit but the neighbor needs to be covered by them. I expected to be able to preset the neighbors repair invoice and have no problem I felt it was reasonable and having paid for all other work out of pocket I felt this was the least Captain Rooter could do. Since presenting the invoice I have had nothing but radio silence. It’s unfortunate as I believe that all the cost should’ve been Captain Rooters but for the sake of putting this behind me I only asked they cover the neighbors damage.
I chose to share as this in hope that before they are considered for a project I relay how they performed for me. I believe it says a lot about a company by how they handle problems with their clients. I am not sure how to share pics or videos here but I’d love to share as I believe they paint a picture of the quality of work.

    Stay healthy.

I can't say enough good things about Brandon at Captain Rooter! He went above and beyond to make sure my kitchen was back to perfect working order before he left. Professional, great communication, skilled at his trade and an all around great guy. It was a pleasure having him in my home.

Special thank you to the owner Joel and the appointment person Roxane for being so accommodating with rescheduling and strict building rules.

I've used their services twice and both times have been smooth and easy. They are SUPER fast to respond via the Yelp interface and if you call them they will connect you with a technician within the hour. In both cases, we had someone out within either an hour or two for an assessment. The latest call was for a kitchen sink emergency and Gabriel was out within 2 hours, made the assessment super quick, explained the issue and solve very thoroughly, and was back the next morning to fix everything. He was done within an hour -- sooner than expected -- and was careful to clean up any debris from the job and left the space better than he found it. Highly recommend Captain Rooter and Gabriel!
