My kitchen sink drain pipe totally disconnected. Found VanDerBosch Plumbing left message late last evening. Sent pictures this morning and received call within 10 minutes. Spoke with Monica and explained my issue. She set appointment for this afternoon & said Andrew will be my technician. Monica was very helpful to my situation as I couldn't use my sink, she was so nice.
Andrew arrived early and he was very professional, exceptional and very patient answering all my question. He discovered the issue and went out of his way for the part. Fixed my sink then tested to assure no leaks.
I will be using VanDerBusch for all my plumbing issues. Thank you VanDerBusch for employing a very exceptional technician like Andrew.

So I felt compelled to write a review about what above and beyond service I received from Allan at your company. He is honest, hardworking and I really couldn’t recommend him more. His kind nature and work ethic makes it an easy choice when choosing from so many plumbing companies in the city. Thank you so much Allan!

George did an excellent job with our washer/dryer installation in a VERY tight space. It included drywall and duct work in addition to the install. He drafted a very clear plan, was well-prepared, and highly professional. Highly recommend!

We called for an estimate and quote for our leaking sink and they sent Allen to come and check it out. He was able to find the source of the problem and provide is multiple avenues for solutions at no upfront cost. Allen was very polite and concise with his explanation. Would recommend to family and friends.

We had such a refreshing experience with George from Vanderbosch after a series of frustrating experiences with other companies over the years. He was clear in his explanations (without being patronizing), friendly and professional and very knowledgeable. The quote we received was very fair and we felt like he was there to help us and not charge us for things we don’t need. We would definitely recommend them.

George came out and assessed a leak for me, as well as let me know if I needed additional venting for my laundry tower. He was very thorough, knowledgeable, and friendly! I had a really great experience working with George and he is an excellent representation of this company!

George came out to fix a couple of issues we had with kitchen and bathroom sinks. He was very professional and very thorough with his work and a nice guy to boot. We have had multiple plumbers come out from this company in the past year and every time we have experienced impeccable service. This is old school plumbing service at its best. They are reasonably priced considering the price hikes they have to endure for all their parts. I would wholeheartedly recommend them for all plumbing needs!

I wish I had been introduced to VanDerBosch years ago. One, very happy to support a family-owned business, but two, the expertise by the team members was extremely well demonstrated. Monica, Andrew, Wilf, and Alan (and I can't usually remember my own name by the way) are fantastic to work with and a very special shout out to Monica and Andrew. Monica communicated, scheduled, and comforted me throughout the process to keep me apprised and informed. Andrew, who should be teaching this stuff (which he does do the training I've been since told) educated me on the work being performed and is outstanding to keep it at a level I understood and used analogies that made total sense that I would never have thought of regarding hot water heaters, boilers, and sewers. Thank you all!!! Great job and you are on my speed dial!!!

My experience with VanDerBosch was extremely positive. I reached out to convert an electric water heater to a tankless gas unit, and the job was fairly involved. The quoting technician arrived on time, was courteous, and took the time to think through exhaust routing options and confirm code requirements before we settled on a plan. He even made a second trip out.

Installation day was just as smooth. Andrew and Nick showed up exactly when expected, were professional throughout, protected the floors, worked cleanly, and only opened up what was necessary. They cleaned up thoroughly and left the area looking neat.

I also appreciated how receptive they were as I researched models and asked about upgrades (recirculation options and a newer unit with additional features). Each change was quoted clearly, and they were accommodating as the scope evolved. Overall, a great experience - on time, thoughtful, and high-quality work.

We called VanDerBosch and they were able to come fix our broken shut-off valve sooner and for considerably less money than another plumber I was using previously. They made us feel like a top priority. Our technician, George, did fantastic work. He was professional, friendly, very skilled and knowledgeable. We won't hesitate to call VanDerBosch the next time we need plumbing work done at our condo.

Communication, information and installation went great. Price was very competitive. Shane explained everything extremely well and Alex installed hot water tank beautifully. Shortly after Alex left a gas leak from an old valve on the piping to the tank occurred and needed to be replaced, Alex came back same night and fixed it. This is a 5-Star company.

Recently called to have a minor toilet issue fixed before Thanksgiving, was unexpected and I figured it could be fixed in a hour or so. I've used Blantons before and had a issue in being offered a 3k$ pump for a 450$ fix and the proper pump installed after the fact. Which, they corrected but still left me in the dark with having bought a 3k pump from them that they told me would handle my problem.
Well, short story long that was 3yrs ago, I figured we could rectify thing's and have them fix a minor toilet problem for our house my wife and I have in Hanover Park.
During this, I was never called, I was given a window from 8a.m-5p.m, for a minor toilet problem....are you kidding me? That's crazy!
Still kept my appointment, after paying the 50$ dispatch fee, when I had to call the next day for a update on my appointment, which was at 12noon, after sitting around waiting for 4hrs, I was told my tech would be coming between 1pm-3pm, never happened, had to call around 245-250, to then be told the technician I had prior was switched and that my new technician would be heading my way shortly. He didn't show up till 5pm, mind you, I have been waiting all day, I had to call multiple times to follow up to make sure they were still coming. When the tech showed up, all he did was walk in and tell me we pretty much needed a whole new toilet based on the kind we had, which he said, was "CHEAP". We just bought this house and have had to fix several problems that were unforeseen from the previous home owners so to be told our, to my knowledge, toilets are cheap, they're still new toilets that were installed when we bought the property, was very uneasy to hear, but never the less we still wanted to hear what he had to say. He then leads with we need a new toilet that parts for this toilet were extremely hard to find and the the cost for fixing it would be over 1700$ which would cost more then buying a brand new toilet and installing it. Which from them, would of been 1400$ with providing a new one and installing that. Had we provided a toilet, it would of been 960$.

I'm a Commercial electrician by trade and have a decent understanding as to how this whole process works and I'd have to say it was a very very poor showing by a company I had high hopes for. He DIDN'T even test our toilet or care enough to see for HIMSELF as to what the problem was or to see if that was even the problem I described at all. He didn't hesitate to tell me that we needed a new toilet.

The reason for this review is because I had another company come out 3 days later, they called me first thing in the morning, (I was at our property in Norridge which was over 30mins away) he beat me to our property in Hanover Park, we said the same thing to this technician and he immediately said no sir, I would appreciate it if you let me see the issue for myself so I can confirm if that is even the problem. Never once did he call our toilet "cheap", or tell me how hard parts were to find for this toilet. He gave me 2 other options to address upgrading our toilets, while fixing the problem we had. It was a simple fill valve change out and adding that with the dispatch fee of 100$, the total was still under 500$ which was what my wife and I had in mind it would cost. The bill was 423.71$. The toilet flushes nicer then it did before and had we not gone with this other company, I would of spent 1400$ on something we wouldn't have needed and I would of had a very very pissed off wife.

I hope this review helps correct how some of your techs run calls, after this, I won't be recommending Blantons anymore which im sad to say because I had really high hopes. Thankfully, I was able to save 1000$ and put that twords the holidays.

    -Best wishes, Max M.

Rick and his team were here today to install a new CIPP liner in the sewer pipe leading from our house to the main. Because it was not correctly done at the time of the house construction, lining was a good solution. Rick and his team were extremely friendly, helpful, skilled, and attentive to detail. When I mentioned about our recently planted landscaping, he assured me that they would be very careful - and they were. The job was completed efficiently and expertly. The final pipe videos confirmed the quality of the work. I could not be more pleased with both the work done by Rick and his team, but also the interactions with J. Blanton plumbing. They kept me informed about every step of the process. A great company with great workers!

Emanuel and his partner G just did our sewer pipe lining and were absolutely fabulous! They kept me in the loop during serving and let me know where things were at every step of the way without being too obtrusive - I work from home and was not disturbed in the slightest while they were working. If only every plumber paid such close attention to detail! Will definitely be using them again and requesting these guys for all our future plumbing needs! Thanks J Blanton and E&G for your superior service!

So overcharged for a toilet/flange replacement and struggled to get timely communication. Unfortunately would really recommend against.

I was charged $1500 for a toilet replacement, which was definitely my fault for not getting comparables first. Regardless, I was totally ripped off. I had to call and email 3 times to get the info for a water remediation company recommendation for a leak I had. They did not send me a receipt/invoice for the $3000 I paid (for toilet and new flange), and I had to call twice to get a copy of it. The invoice says I paid for a toto toilet which is not accurate (I got a kohler). I called twice to ask about this, as I was unsure if it was a pricing mistake, and I still never received an updated invoice or any information about this error. It seems like the toilet/flange was repaired appropriately, so that’s good, and they were able to address the leak and repair within 2 days, which was very timely. Because of pricing and customer service, I really wish I would have gone with another option. Unfortunately, I felt panicked about a leak and went with the first available option, and it was a very expensive lesson learned.

Our kitchen sink was not draining and technician Josh was sent out to tackle the issue. Josh did a great job getting the drain flowing freely. It was a challenging job but Josh did not quit until the drain was open. We would recommend Josh to any future customers and we would request that he be sent to our house for any additional work down the road.

Over priced. Trying to get the most commission they can. Shop around first. Sales rep was nice ,yes, but I told him I’d let him know if I need anything else. End of discussion. The constant calls (from the call center) texts and emails bombarding me is not okay. I told the call center not to call me again and they still called again and again. Spoke with Solomon twice saying stop calling me. To J. Blanton that means call again just to make sure you don’t want to spend $22-30k. At this point it’s clear they are just looking for money. Leave me alone.

I had an incredible experience with Anthony M., who came out for an emergency plumbing issue. From the moment he arrived, he showed outstanding professionalism, deep technical knowledge, and a truly customer-focused approach.

Anthony went above and beyond in every way. He took the time to thoroughly investigate the problem, clearly explain what was happening, and walk me through each step of the process. His willingness to educate rather than just “fix and leave” made a huge difference — I felt informed, reassured, and confident that the issue was being handled correctly.

He identified the underlying cause, resolved the immediate emergency, and made sure everything was safe and functional before he left. His attention to detail, patience, and commitment to doing the job right were exceptional.

Anthony is one of those rare technicians who not only solves the problem but leaves you feeling genuinely cared for. I’m incredibly grateful for his help and highly recommend him to anyone who needs a knowledgeable, trustworthy, and truly outstanding plumber.

Edgar did an excellent job on our shower and kitchen sink. He was friendly and efficient. Kept work area clean.

I have had numerous plumbers from J. Blanton out to my home, which was built back in the 1950s, and the standout by far has been Edgar. He is incredibly respectful, extremely knowledgeable, and takes the time to give clear, thorough explanations of exactly what services are needed and why—especially important with an older home like ours. I never once felt pressured into unnecessary work or upsells.

We are members of the “No Drip Club,” and Edgar was the only plumber who was able to successfully remove a stubborn clean-out cap next to a very old bathtub. His patience, expertise, and problem-solving skills truly set him apart. He carefully explains each step of what he’s doing and how it will resolve the issue, which gives us complete confidence in his work.

I honestly wish Edgar could be the plumber who comes to our house every time. Because of his professionalism, knowledge, and patience with older homes, I highly recommend J. Blanton Plumbing. Edgar is a true asset to the company.

We had Christian come for our home maintenance check and he was wonderful! I appreciated how thorough he was, that he provided me with feedback and notes for each potential issue he saw, and he even cleaned out a messy drain in my sink. Christian was awesome with my kids and dog as well. Thanks for everything!
