Our furnace was starting to fall apart after 13 years. Erich was sympathetic to the expense of replacement, but realistic and honest with us about our options and the potential to waste money on expensive new parts for an aging system. Tom and his crew came today to install our new furnace. They were extremely polite and clean, and didn't seem bothered at all when my dog barked at them all day :)

Update: Eric came and checked on our system to ensure everything was working properly now that the temps have dropped. Everything is running smoothly!

I had Chris Heating and Cooling out for my annual furnace check, and Hugo was fantastic. He was on time, professional, and really thorough in making sure everything was running safely and efficiently. He explained what he was doing in a way that was easy to understand and made sure I had no questions before he left. Excellent service all around—highly recommend Chris Cooling and Heating, and a special shoutout to Hugo for the great experience!

Furnace stopped working on Saturday when the temperature was below zero. Called Chris heating and cooling and around 8 AM. They called me back with an ETA of a technician.
Francisco arrived before 10 AM and quickly diagnosed the problem. Went through a few different options for repair.
He had the part in his van and furnace was up and running in no time. Many thanks to Chris heating and cooling and technician Francisco. It was a very pleasant experience. Will definitely use their service again.

Chris Mechanical cleaned and inspected my HVAC system. They did a great job from beginning to end. Contacted me to schedule the service, let me know who was coming and that they were on time and would be there soon and completed the service in a timely manner.

Hugo was friendly, knowledgeable, thorough, answered all my questions and I felt comfortable that the equipment was in good working order.

My furnace died during this crazy cold snap. Chris Heating & Cooling came to the rescue immediately. Every person I had contact with was professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and attentive. I recommend them without reservation.

Chris Heating and Cooling has the best customer service I have experienced in an HVAC company. The first time I ever interacted with them they answered my emergency question over the phone, helped me fix the problem and didnt charge me for the help. I've used them ever since then and they have always done a thorough job, with a smile, and fair pricing.

Erich was my technician today, wow what a wealth of information. Explained and demonstrated the concerns with my system. There were more concerns than I anticipated but knew my system was near its end. We came to the conclusion that the repairs would outweigh a new system with warranties. I appreciate his candidness. But even more so the ability to get the work done quickly.

Chris Mechanical did a fantastic job. We had our 20 year old furnace replaced with a high efficiency furnace. This involved running a new vent through our attic to the roof. They also installed a humidifier on the furnace which was tricky due to the extremely limited space.

Their quoting process was the best and most thorough of the three companies I had bid on the job. Bill, their sales rep, was here for over an hour discussing our wants and needs. He was extremely knowledgeable and helped me make good decisions. He even called the engineers back in the office to get expert advice on being able to meet some of my wishes for the install. Best of all, I had a quote before he left the house. Not true for the other two bidders. Their pricing was very competitive.

I am 100% satisfied with the job and our new furnace. I will be using Chris Mechanical from now on and can't recommend them enough.

Eric was here today for regular service of the new furnace. Was very thorough in his service. He has here for at least an hour doing PM. Definitely will be renewing our membership for maintenance.

Francisco was here late today to fix a problem with the furnace. As usual, the service was outstanding.

Our usual HVAC technician, whom we trust, moved out of state so we tried this company. From the get go I didn’t feel great when they tried to sell me a subscription type service, but figured for an annual check up it would be fine. The technician tried telling us we need $6k in repairs (not for a new unit, just repairs) when in fact we have never had a single issue and our previous technician always said it was in great shape. Multiple independent HVAC people have agreed the quote was outrageous. It’s disappointing that this company isn’t trustworthy and definitely should not be awarded anyone’s business, in my opinion. I would stay far away from this company.

Chris Heating and Cooling is the best...(especially their lead technician Erich)! Experienced, knowledgeable, reasonable (i e. they don't scare you into purchasing something you don't need or fixing something that doesn't need to be fixed). They are truly a family-owned business that cares more about the customer than the almighty dollars. Highly highly highly recommend them!!!

The Chris shop is very professional. The thorough inspections and quote process was quickly done. When the men arrived for the installation they were very respectful and qualified! They wear booties and tarp a path. They installed the units in short order. I could not be happier. I would recommend them to anyone in the Dupage/ Kane county areas!

We just started using Chris Heating and Cooling today. Hugo came out to the house and was pleasant and polite. He came in to look at our HVAC system and was very thorough. I am very happy with his work and signed up for their service contract. If all the technicians are as good as Hugo, you definitely can't go wrong using Chris Heating and Cooling.

If you are looking for a HVAC company, I highly recommend Chris Mechanical. I am always impressed with their technicians. They are always very knowledgeable, kind and easy to talk to. They never up charge you on services and always give you their professional opinion on work that is needed to be done, explaining the process throughly along the way. Eric Dahmen was my technician today and he was wonderful! He took his time and was thorough. He was very informative and gave me options for our water heater replacement. I highly recommend him as well as the other technicians at Chris Mechanical. Also, their yearly membership cost is very competitive and is worth the expense.

We had a great experience with Chris Heating & Cooling. Jon was professional, honest, and really took the time to explain our options without being pushy. The solution we ended up going with this time was fixing our existing unit. The tech quickly diagnosed the problem and got our AC unit up and running. I really appreciated the efficiency and honesty with this team. We will definitely be giving them a call back when it’s time to replace our AC unit. Great service overall!

Had an installation performed by Luis and Jose. Both were professional and great at what they do. Really appreciate how smooth they made this experience. Also, appreciate Erich taking the time to explain the issues found and our options for resolution.

I had to have the installation crew come back since the taping/sealing job was poor (2nd picture). By poor I mean that air was leaking from the unit like a sieve. They came back and fixed that (2nd to last picture). The unit was very loud and I noticed the badge on top was loose, which added to the noise factor. I looked under the Amana badge and found Goodman P/N (video). I waiting on the Manufacturer input on this. Both owned by Daikin but it would explain why the unit is louder than expected. Goodman is known to be louder than Amana.
I digress, the only other major issue was water leaking (3rd and 4th picture). The tech did not figure that out but I did after I thought about the situation. The last picture shows ductwork that was cut into for whatever reason for installation purposes. There was a piece of metal affixed afterwards with insulation tape around the perimeter of the affixed metal plate. Metal is a good conductor of heat (among other things). The air intake pipe sits directly underneath said metal plate. If anyone remembers middle school science class then you will know what creates condensation. So, placed a rag as an insulator and problem gone. Not being a permanent solution I taped it thoroughly so no cold air could fall onto the air intake pipe that has warm, moist air from outside in it (3rd to last picture).

Bottom line.......installation matters.

Our experience with working with Hugo, our technician, was excellent. He kept me up to date on the issue he figured out and then let me know what my options would be. He found the needed pieces to be replaced and repaired the unit by the end of the day. He was conscientious and respectful, while also being knowledgeable and capable to see job taken care of. Im grateful to have found them and have certainty on who I will call and recommend for others to do the same. Thank you, for going above and beyond to assure that our system is working at its best. Appreciate the way you follow up as well.

Found on line due to servicing my area and the type of furnace. Excellent choice. Responded within the hour, friendly, professional, experts in the field. Needed a new furnace and due to cold, was able to get installed same day. From start to finish, everyone was helpful. Highly recommend!
