We put in a new Carrier geothermal unit in early December 2014. It has NEVER functioned correctly! Our electric bill was double initially due to the geothermal system not working properly; assorted service people, geothermal company representative (Carrier is the brand), and service manager have been at our home and it continues to not work properly! We have had to use space heaters and our gas fireplace to have heat; it has been difficult to have guests due to the temperature in our home; and now we cannot run our air conditioning (initially it blew out warm air and now since the last service visit, there is water leaking from the furnace); we have had to deal with taking off time from work numerous times. This has been very frustrating. I would not recommend Love Heating and Air Conditioning.

I gave 1 star only because you can’t give 0. This place is a JOKE!! They gave me a 4 hour window ( between 1-5) for my appointment today, October 31st, 2017. I took off work at 12 noon to be punctual on my end because they could only call 30 minutes in advance, and being a Union Ironworker, I work state wide. I receive a call at 4:58 wanting to reschedule because the are running 2 hours behind. Their technicians need to be better trained so that they call in advance when running into a problem, you don’t call 2 minutes before a scheduled appointment to cancel!!!! To reconcile, they offer me a $30 discount.... keep in mind I just wasted a half day waiting on these clowns!!! Being a lifetime Eastsider I wouldn’t recommend this local company, Love heating and cooling, to anyone!.

My house was built in 1920 and had the original boiler. Love Heating and Air took the old boiler out and put in a much smaller and more efficient unit. Their bid was lower than the other two companies from whom I got estimates. They had also worked on my pipes before, and I knew they do great work. It was a dock yard job to get that monster out of my basement and haul it away. They also contracted with an asbestos group who came in first and removed it. This saved me looking for someone to do it. They were efficient and as neat as you can be with this type of job. Anthony Lechner was very accommodating about changing my start date because of COVID-19. This company is easy to work with, and they do a great job. I highly recommend them.

Called Love after Dynasty ghosted us hard. Love made us a same day appointment & showed up within a few hours. James was professional and repaired our unit within an hour. He thoroughly explained the problem & the fix. The cost was quite reasonable.

They've been our heating and air company, for a few years now. They're almost always able to get out to us the same day or within a couple days of calling. Our most recent technician, Kurt, was excellent and extremely knowledgeable!
-
I talked to Samantha who is very courteous and helpful with scheduling and finding out your issues. The furnace maintenance was done by Ron, who is experienced, professional and very knowledgeable. Ron explained what he was doing and why he was doing the processes to inspect, clean and service the furnace. This was the best experience! Thanks to Love Heating and Air Conditioning, Samantha and Ron.

Said our unit couldn't be fixed and requested a new purchase. Within 24 hours, a different company came out and fixed it and it's working perfectly. The service fee of $100 & your time down the drain. You be the judge. We tried to make this right with them, they completely lied and said they would refund the service fee. Never received it even after a friendly reminder follow up call. Nice!

Love Heating and Cooling recently installed a new furnace in our upstairs attic. They were very professional from the start and explained things very well. During the install, their new staff member stepped on the ceiling, cracking it in the center of the bedroom. During our talk about the damage, the staff member responsible proceeded to step on the ceiling a few more times, causing a larger section of damage as we talked and witnessed the breaking.
They took responsibility and got someone out to look at and fix the ceiling the same day. The owner came out shortly after to apologize and provide some instructions to the staff present. After paying, we found that they burned out our Nest Thermostat and called back. (About 15-minutes after they left.
The installer asked to wait until the morning, but the furnace was blowing cold air. A different tech came out and confirmed that the thermostat was burned out. They gave us a temporary thermostat, and I ordered a new one. I gave instructions during the morning install to NOT wire anything around the thermostat while it was live, and it was working up until the addition of a water sensor.
This is where things went down hill. We did not get a call back that Thursday, and I called to ask about my Thermostat. There was also no call on Friday. Saturday, I called again and asked to talk to the owner, as the furnace was not producing heat. I found water dripping down the side of the unit, and water pumping sounds coming from the unit. I pushed down on the drain pipe, and a lot of water cleared the unit. A tech came out and found the exhaust pipe was not aligned, and re-sealed the exhaust, but still no call back about the thermostat.
Another business day has gone by, and still no call or information about the thermostat. Its such a shame that they would be prompt during the install, and so unwilling to contact me back after they were paid.

Love Heating and Air Conditioning wrote me a reply stating that they are sorry for what happened, and that they fired not the person that stepped on the ceiling, but the Lead on-site, and the tech that came out and gave me a temporary thermostat. I did not ask for this to happen, nor do I wish that for what should simply be a teachable moment.
The concern I had about replacing my thermostat is what I wanted and still need. Now a week later, I still have not had 1 call back from the owner I requested, or any staff there. A $200 thermostat is a cheap cost to learn a valuable lesson.
They had the chance for a life-long customer after how well the handled the install and the issues that arose, but no follow-up to 2 calls took a 4 to a 1. -
A little slow on communicating appointment availability, however we are very pleased with the service and fair pricing. Have utilized them before and would definitely recommend. Rob seemed to be knowledgeable and was professional.
Stay tuned on this comment, this is the 2nd furnace in our house and it’s solely dedicated to my office, I just realized it hadn’t turned off since Love was here, it’s set at 70 and the room has reached 85 degrees... -
Live Always takes care of us, and I never feel like I am being sold on services or products I don’t need. Dave, our service tech, is friendly and knows everything! Kim in the office is awesome too. She calls to remind us to use our service contract, which I would otherwise forget. Highly recommend.

Service tech, Chris, did an exceptional job at our house today. He was pleasant and very knowledgeable. He went beyond the standard tuneup expected. I most appreciate that he got our My Infinity thermostat back on line so I can check and adjust it remotely. I will specifically ask for him next time.

I have used Love Heating & Air to check-out, clean and help maintain my HVAC system ever since I moved to a new home. I can't say enough about their professionalism, thoroughness and competency! Time and time again they help bring me up to speed on my system, if I have questions-- they have the answers! I can tell from the courtesy of their technicians that this is a well-managed business that puts people first. They are the best!

Love Heating & Air Conditioning delivers top-notch service. Their skilled technicians, prompt response, and fair pricing make them my go-to for HVAC needs. Trustworthy and efficient, they ensure comfort in every season.
-
They charge for home visits, which is normal. But, they charged an extra $150 for each follow-up, including to check dye for leaks and to fix the HVAC. We stopped using them after these charges. The total cost nearly matched the price of a new mini-split.

My parents A/C stopped working on a very hot/humid weekend so I needed to get them help ASAP. I called two other local businesses but they couldn't come out until Monday, one of which my parents were already a customer of. 🤦♂️ I called LOVE and had a much better experience.
The call center person immediately called the on-call tech (Ronnie) and within 15 minutes, Ronnie called me back. Ronnie arrived at my parents house within an hour of my inital call ...on a SUNDAY!
Ronnie was nothing short of AMAZING. He had super positive energy, was urgent in his response, super knowledgeable, professional, honest, friendly, even comforting as we talked while he worked. He was quickly able to diagnose and resolve the issue within 45 minutes of arriving and the cost was reasonable. He treated my aging mother and father with incredible respect and dignity as he explained what happened.
As Ronnie and I completed the transaction, I made sure he knew that he was our angel that day, that he truly saved us from a very tough situation. Not only was his skill and experience appreciated but also his overall professionalism and positive customer service...simply top notch!!
I can't say enough good things about Ronnie and the overall experience with LOVE. Thank you soooo much!! -
I called Love after having a very bad experience with Broadripple Heating and Air. I had a very old unit with a bad compressor that had blown my main power breaker.
I called Love and the people who answer the phones are so nice and they had someone out within a couple of hours. He (Brad Hayes) spent about and hour and half and gave me a couple of very good options on a new unit. I had an old freon based unit so they had to find something with a coil that was short enough for my furnace and he did.
What impressed me the most about Brad was that he has been with the company 33 years, and he spent a lot of time telling me about my options and he gave me an option that was really affordable. I trusted him almost immediately and then when he gave me the break down about what I needed and what my options were I felt confident he was not trying to sell me anything I did not need. The other thing is that the units they sell are built here in Indianapolis by Carrier and I like the idea of having something that is built in the US , especially my hometown, and that I can trust they will be good at servicing it. It also has a 10 year warranty!
The unit was installed yesterday on what was the most humid day so far this year and they were professional, covered their shoes and my floors. They were here from 9 am to 4:30 pm and worked THE ENTIRE time, and it rained throughout the whole day and they never made a single complaint. They were all about business. Gary the main installer said he has been with Love for 38 years. The owner and management must be doing something right to keep people that long.
They turned the unit on around 4 pm and by 5 the humidity was out of the air and by 7:00 pm my 2000 SQ. ft condo had reached the cool 66 that I like to keep it at.
From my first phone call, Love has been nothing but professional, nice and their workers, from Shannon who answered the phone to Brad Hayes who sold me the unit, to Gary the installer, were all professional, courteous, knowledgeable and most of all, kind. I have worked in customer service for many years and treating people right is what makes a difference and Love definitely did that. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
UPDATE Their was an issue with the air conditioner and I had to call and have them come back out. Matt is the technician who came out on a Saturday.
When I called I heard back from him within the hour and he was able to get to me a few hours later. He was super nice, and very professional and he found this issue fairly quickly. I felt that he was very thorough and he did a great job explaining the issue.
I have to wait for them to come back out to install the part but the air conditioner is not totally out so it is not unbearable at all. I still would give them 5 stars. How you treat your customers is so important and I think most people are pretty reasonable when they are given the truth.
So far they have been honest and nice and they have done exactly what they said they were going to do. And I feel confident they will resolve the issue that was not their fault at all.
Thanks again, -
I had such an incredible experience. The technician who assisted me, Jeff, was absolutely wonderful. He was incredibly professional and explained all of the things he was doing each step of the way. He broke down the cost for each procedure and explained how each would help us in the long run.
We had another company come out initially who was charging us an astronomical amount of money to refill our Freon and check for leaks. Loves came out and did the exact same service for $130 less.
I would highly recommend Love's and Jeff to everyone. -
I called Love HVAC because I needed routine maintenance/cleaning done, and I had a great experience! Kim was so knowledgeable and helpful on the phone, and Eric, the service tech, was really kind and helpful. They are super professional and I would absolutely work with them again in the future. Highly recommend!

I'm giving this company 3 stars because they failed to do the job I asked them to do but I previously did have a good experience with them. However, when they came out the second time for a different issue.... I never got a call to let me know they were on their way, never got a call to let me know what was going on, never got a call that they were done, and never got a bill. I called to set up the service and then heard absolutely nothing after that. I assumed they had dropped the ball and never came out... until they sent me a past due bill months later. When I spoke to a woman in the service department, she said that because the notes say that my thermostat MAY be malfunctioning and MIGHT need replaced, they didn't have to replace the part. Apparently the tech noted that the button wasn't sticking anymore (I tried it the very next day and it was still sticking). But because their notes use the word "may" be malfunctioning.... they didn't feel obligated to replace the thermostat or apparently even let me know what was going on. Had the tech called me to tell me that he didn't think it was sticking, I would have told him to still replace it because I don't want any issues down the road and my old thermostat has already malfunctioned once. But I wasn't given that option because the tech never called. I even had the new thermostat purchased and sitting on the floor beneath the old thermostat.
So to the tune of $125, their tech came out, wiggled the buttons to get the furnace to come on and then called it a day without ever saying a word to me.
LOVE.... why didn't your tech just call me at the time of service??? Isn't that standard, to let the customer know what's going on? It would have saved us both a headache. -
I called Love for a quote on a Mitsubishi split unit heater/AC for my den and their price was significantly less than the other 2 quotes I got despite the fact that all 3 are Mitsubishi trained and Diamond Certified. I discussed the negative online reviews with the salesperson and he assured me that Love would be responsive and effective with their service, and they were. I had my new unit installed within a few days. I was so impressed that I decided to order a second unit for my garage. Having a garage heated to 60 degrees during Indiana winters is a real pleasure and because these units are hyper efficient, it won’t cost much to operate.
The temperature reached -4 degrees and the garage unit switched off and wouldn’t turn on again. This happened within a couple of weeks of installation. I emailed my salesperson and within 15 minutes I had a service appointment scheduled for the next day.
My house furnace (not sold or installed by Love) isn’t keeping up with the cold temps so I’m having them look at that, too, while they’re out. I’ll update this review if necessary, but so far I’m very impressed.
UPDATE Jan 23: Tech who came out was very methodical and found the furnace problem right away. Asked me lots of questions, and while the most obvious solution turned out to be the solution, he tuned up the furnace while he ruled out other possible problems. I really appreciated that he didn't stop once he figured out the problem. He really took his time and now I know that the furnace is operating properly.
As for the split unit, it just needed to be re-set so he did that and showed me how to do it, and also showed me how to check to see that it's working once it is re-set. Turns out it takes a minute for the light to come on and hot air to come out because the outside unit fires up first and heats up and THEN the inside unit, the one I see, gets going. Makes sense and next time I'll know what's going on.
I appreciated his slow and steady approach and that he took the time to show me and point out how I can make sure some of these problems don't happen next time and what to do if they occur. That way I'll know if I need to call Love to come out or if it's something I can handle. THANK YOU!
Not sure what the negative reviews are about. -
An outstanding company that values customer service. Many large box stores upsell and won’t work on older units and don’t focus on maintenance as much.
Love is very honest and cares about customers. As a first time homebuyer, they educated me on how my HVAC unit works and were super kind and provided the necessary maintenance.
I’ve had a hard time finding honest companies that will do maintenance and be truthful. This company does just that.
