Joe Tollari, the owner, came out when it was 96 degrees and our AC had burned up. As it was part of a 47-year-old Sears AC/heating system... AND my wife and I had had never purchased an HVAC system before,... we had in-home analysts from 8 different Des Moines companies, a mix of with some of the "small ones" and some of the "big ones". Metro Heating and Cooling beat the price from the "small ones" by $2000 dollars and more than $3500 dollars from the "big ones"... and Metro did it with a BIGGER AC system than other companies offered. And to top it all off, the AC and the furnace were both from American Standard. (Side note: American Standard and Trane are essentially the same company. Both HVAC systems are made on the same assembly line. Our AC and furnace have the same model numbers as a Trane AC and furnace. The namplates are simply different.) One more thing: Metro INCLUDES the tax when they give you the estimate. Most other companies do not. That in itself is about $800 dollars.

The installers and the techician spent an extra amount of time adjusting, tuning, opening and closing dampers, to make sure the AC put out the right amount of cool air while the sound level was low. Even though our 47-year-old AC was much smaller, didn't put out nearly the same amount of cool air, and was louder, they all worked extra hours to make sure my wife and I were extremely happy.

Look at several companies, discuss what you want, tell them your finacial concerns... and then have Metro Heating and Cooling install your AC, or your furnace, or an entire HVAC system.

When our furnace unexpectedly quit working on an early Thursday morning in mid-February, I called our long time heating & cooling company Metro Heating & Cooling at 8AM. Within an hour the tech who services our equipment arrived and determined the furnace blower motor had worn out and couldn’t be replaced. He called the company owner, Joe Tollari, who came out with an assistant to assess what new equipment we would need. The choices for both a new furnace and air-conditioning unit were clearly explained, and my wife and I chose the ones best suited for our home and budget. The new units were ordered, and the next day shortly after 8AM the installation crew arrived. Before 3PM that day the work was completed, the crew chief demonstrated how to use the new thermostat for heat and air-conditioning, check the status of the new type of filter, and run the humidifier. We can’t say enough great things about Metro Heating & Cooling, which is why we have used them since moving into our home in 1986. Call them if you are interested in upgrading your heating/air-conditioning system. Metro Heating & Cooling employees will give you honest information and superior service should you elect to purchase any of their products.

We recieved a new furnace on the 13th and the team they sent out was great! I got a new furnace in a timely manner before the frigid temps. I have used them before for my fireplace and got great service then too! Highly recommend!!

Metro ,especially Nick, has taken great care of us for years. Nick is very thorough. He takes his time and does excellent work. He also takes time to explain the issues. He is knowledgeable. Nick doesn’t give up until he solves the issue

I recently had Metro Heating and Cooling come out to evaluate my fireplace. Levi was out technician and he did an amazing job of helping us determine what the issue was. Metro communicates very timely and and assures us throughout the repair process. I obtained several quotes to replace my furnace and air conditioner and specifically wanted the American Standard product line due to their rating "Consumer Reports". Joe Tollari performed the estimating process for Metro Heating and Cooling. I found him to be very knowledgeable in the realm of HVAC. He answered all my questions well and patiently. After reviewing the estimates from the two companies I liked most I decided to go with Metro after a bit of price dickering with Joe. I was impressed with the knowledge and character of all four young men (James, Alex, Michael And Christian) involved with the installation of the new furnace, air conditioner and related equipment installed in my house over two days.

Furnace and HVAC replacement. They were prompt. Kept me informed every step of the way. Once installation was complete they walked me thru how everything worked, how to replace filters etc. Cleaned everything up before leaving. Great job. I would highly recommend Metro Heating and Cooling.

Metro Heating and Cooling was recommended by a Fireplace Store to fix my non-working fireplace. Previous to Metro, I had another serviceman attempting to fix. He spent many hours - finally giving up and leaving it strewn in many pieces in my living area.

Water sensor in furnace defective. Brian, Joe and Chris worked on furnace to restore heat. Really appreciated them working around my schedule due to Dr. appointment. Great service!
