I wanted to mow less grass and attract more bees and birds to my landscape and manage the small ravine running through the yard/neighborhood. Abundant Design designed and installed exactly the garden for which I asked! They delivered what they promised, were there when they said they would be and responded to concerns immediately. I highly recommend this crew for sustainable gardens!

Jeff and his crew were always very professional and courteous. We had a few large beds put in with lots of labor involved, and they did a great job. The plantings were very thoughtful, with permaculture and the local landscape in mind. We needed to have a few areas reworked, a tree moved, etc and it wasn’t an issue at all. We also got a patio put in, thanks to one of Jeff’s contractors, and we couldn’t be happier with how beautiful it turned out. All in all, very happy with what we have and the price was very competitive.

Jeff and his crew did outstanding work on our considerable project! Jeff designed a sustainable plan using rock terracing with native plants for our expansive shoreline area to control soil erosion/water runoff. Many of the plants are pollinators and will add considerable beauty to the area when mature. In addition, he carried the native planting theme to all areas around our house as well to tie it all together. His professional crew worked tirelessly in the extreme heat and had to use wheelbarrows to transport over 18 tons of rock due to the slope of our property. We could not be more pleased with design, quality, cost and service from Jeff and his crew and highly recommend Abundant Design!

My wife had been wanting a composting system for our home for some time, but none of the commercially available units accomplished quite what she was looking for: something ecologically friendly, built locally, expandable, which also made it easy to manage and transfer compost. Jeff came over and not only helped us custom-build a 'triple bin, cedar composting system', but also gave us some great tips on ornamental gardening and drainage for our back yard. If there was 6th star, I would give it to Jeff and Abundant Design!

Jeff did great work on incorporating two raised beds, a rain barrel, and two compost bins into our existing suburban landscape. He was open to our ideas and careful not to plow ahead if things weren't turning out just right the way they were originally planned. A great finished product I know we will enjoy for a long time!

Awesome. I had them remove sod from an area of my yard for a pollenator/prairie garden. They are so friendly, and let me know when they could come ( it was early Spring and weather was a factor). They gave me lots of advice on seeding a pollinator prairie garden. I could hear the bees, butterflies, bugs all cheering!! Thanks for a great job.

Jeff was the perfect answer to our mini lake issues in our backyard. We also had many above ground drain pipes that were trip hazards as well as making it difficult to mow around. These issues were both solved with his rain garden design. He was very quick to respond to phone calls, messages and emails regarding a quote, and ultimately the large rain garden project. We love how aesthetically pleasing the design was/is, and how it goes with our existing landscaping. Jeff was spot on in regards to timeline, cost estimates, and his selection of a native tree and plants to keep the landscape true to our Easter Lake area. I highly recommend Abundant Design for your outdoor landscape needs!!

I met Jeff of Abundant Design when he was sharing his talent and knowledge at an apple grafting demonstration he put on for our non profit years ago. He was very willing to share his expertise and his passion for his trade came across in such a great way. I whole heartly recommend Jeff and Abundant design. Jeff is extremely knowledgeable about native plants, soil, and hydrology. He is also very familiar with local conservation subsidy programs. He was able to help me evaluate drainage around my house and come up with a sustainable plan for keeping water away from the house. His plan utilized native plants and was really suited for my budget and my ability to maintain the area afterwards. He worked very efficiently and I was extremely happy with how he was able to help me under a tight timeline and budget. He is awesome and I would not hesitate to work with him again.

Jeff is great to work with! We worked on a grant funded project which had ups and downs out of our control, and Jeff did everything to ensure a great end result! Jeff and his crew are very knowledgeable and went above and beyond with their work!

Jeff and the rest of the Abundant Design crew are awesome! We initially called Jeff to help us with landscape design around our house. He helped us think about things that we had both never considered like a rain garden that the City of Des Moines significantly subsidizes (almost half the cost for us!) He helped us figure out how to fund the project and when he and the crew came out and put in the rain garden and orchard, it's so beautiful! Total win/win/win for the City of Des Moines in helping keep (at least our) runoff out of the sewers, in providing food for us and our furry/non-furry neighbors, and for our pollinators who have already started their amazing work! Jeff is easy to work with, a font of information and advice and a lot of fun!
