I’ve visited the gbgh several times, the staff are very nice. My last visit was March 19, I was in the market for big bushes to use as a security wall. Trevor, who works there was my helper, he was very knowledgeable, patient and friendly towards myself and everyone that approached him. I bought 6 tall 35 quart bushes and 4 smaller bushes. I may need 5 additional ones, of course I’m going back to the Great Big Green House!!!

Biggest nursery I've been to yet. Coolest selection of trees I've ever seen at a nursery too. They had massive trees inside the actual greenhouse building! I'd never seen that before. And they have stuff for ponds and fish. That's something I would have thought would be a no-brainer at these types of places, but it's apparently a rarity.

I like that there are employees walking around asking if they can help you. Pleasant, knowledgeable people, wide selection of indoor and outdoor plants have made this my first gardening choice for decades. I would like to see more sales (because I enjoy sales!).

I have been a loyal shopper since 2022. It truly pains me to say that, of late, the quality and care at the Great Big Greenhouse have declined quite noticeably. On my most recent visit, I approached a small group of workers in hopes of receiving some assistance, but they seemed entirely disinterested and unwilling to help.

I must admit, I left feeling rather unwelcome and, quite frankly, alone as though I had been left in the dark without so much as a kind word or guiding hand. At my age, one comes to appreciate simple courtesies, and it was disheartening not to find them.

If I had wished to feel ignored and overlooked, I suppose I might try my luck on one of those modern dating apps though I assure you, I have no such intentions, and I daresay it would do me no better there.

I do hope this matter is taken to heart, as I have always held your establishment in high regard.

A big shoutout to Lisa for helping me to choose the right annuals for our neighborhood beautification project. As they grow, the lantanas will certainly bring a pop of color to the sunny marker and the caladiums will brighten up the shaded one. Our neighborhood volunteers have received numerous compliments.

Finn was incredibly helpful yesterday in helping me find the correct variety of arborvitae for my available space and in choosing boxwoods. I got great advice for planting success and plan to return to fill in any gaps later.

Great selection of plants, much more than expected! Almost everything is labeled, and most that are labeled are actually correct.

Would 100% be a 5 star review if some of the prices weren’t so ridiculous, mainly inside the greenhouse. Very sad!

I am very appreciative of the military discount, that’s pretty rare in nurseries.

The carts would be so much better if they were wagons with bigger wheels. Very hard to push in the outside on the small gravel.

Overall, amazing place. I will be back, shopping sales (which they seemed to have a lot of outside) and clearance.

This is an annual event they have for kids in the community. It was my first visit, lots to see and do for everyone. They provide all the fixings to create your very own terrarium, pony rides, petting zoo, and the miniature trains were a big hit for the family. Next year we'll be back.

Love to spend time here!!! Plants galore for onside and put. All kinds of pots, flags, and yard items to keep you busy for hours. The staff is awesome. I'm almost ready to kick off my herb garden. This will definitely be a stop!!!

Marilee always is so helpful and her design eye for repotting terrariums is second to none. She is so friendly and knowledgeable and knocked out these two whimsical pieces in no time!

Worth the drive i enjoyed checking out a new greenhouse. Lovely plants and huge choices !! I love they offer vip discounts . I do wish they gave trays for your items

If you have a penchant for plants or anything else plant or landscape-related, then you must experience this impressive place. It sells annuals and perennials of all sorts, of course, but offers so much more!!
You will find trees, including citrus, shrubs, herbs, palms of so many types, ferns, bonsai, cacti/succulents, orchids, birds of paradise and other tropicals, herbs, vines, berry plants and shrubs, a native plant section, a bee/hummingbird plant section, pond plants, lilies, thousands of pots of all colors and sizes, bird baths, soil, mulch and fertilizers, seeds, garden implements, hydroponic supplies, hardscaping material and much, much more.
It's an amazing place inside and out. The plants are healthy and vital, and the prices are competitive. There are cash registers inside and out, and the staff is friendly and helpful. I highly recommend.

Stopped by and found this beautiful Cebu Blue pothos! I was also able to pick out some great shrubs thanks to the tremendous help of Jordan. She was very knowledgeable about what shrubs do best in VA, as well as what would work in my yard specifically. I wish every nursery had someone that dedicated to helping customers.

All in all, great experience!

Such a cute place! I always find something to take home. I love nurseries and I am quite fond of this one. I have almost 200 plants (and climbing). I have gotten both indoor and outdoor goodies from here. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Prices are fair. It is well kept. I have attached a few planties for your viewing pleasure. 💚

I had a bush in my yard that I needed to match and Chelsea was able to tell me which type of bush it was and the variety. I went to a different greenhouse last year and bought the wrong type of bush. Thank you!!!

We've been going here for decades, even now after we moved to Lynchburg. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and their plants are well cared for. Additionally several plants have detailed care instructions.... something you don't find in box stores.

The wife wants a banana plant, so I stopped in to see if they had any. First off, I didn't realize how large this place is. There are tons of indoor plants and garden items, then a huge outside area as well. They had lots of little fun Halloween themed things to do outside. Staff was very helpful. There seemed to be quite a few people working, and they always made sure I was set, wherever I was. Looking for landscaping ideas or items, they had lots of those, too. Plants looked very healthy and full. This is the place to get your outdoor needs!

Definitely recommend if you’re looking for good plants and kind people. Cayson helped me bring my plants back to my car which was greatly appreciated! I’m positive anyone buying there will leave happy!

Always enjoy shopping for plants, decor, and gardening supplies here. I came with a list of specific plants that I wanted. Asked a young man named Sean who took the time to help me find them! Thank you, Sean! He was so pleasant, polite, and interested in helping. Healthy beautiful plants!

I came in for one plant and left with a jungle!! My apartment now looks like it belongs in a botanical magazine. I am new to the area and this place CAUGHT my eye, so I stopped by and I was instantly greeted by Zoe, INCREDIBLE employee by the way!! She is incredibly sweet and truly cares about pairing you with the perfect plant. All i want to add is the paintings add so much character to this greenhouse!
