I am in my 37th as year field engineer for a major medical diagnostic imaging manufacturer. I know what true customer service is.
Southland AC & Heating Inc., in my opinion, is the standard bearer of a full service AC & Heating company, Period.!
I needed to have my entire HVAC system including duct work replaced. I had researched ac/heating companies in the greater New Orleans area over a period of 18 months. I had been thru at least a half a dozen face to face meetings with contractors. I was less than satisfied and discouraged as most pushed their own agenda and not what was in my best interest. Then a friend recommended Southland as he had a very good experience in replacement of his system.
I called and made an appointment for the next day. Excellent communications!
On 3/18, I met with co-owner Cliff Hubbard. For the next 3 hours, yes, 3 hours. Cliff inspected, measured, accounted for details and unique challenges such as drain requirements, physical size limitations due to existing build structure, etc. We settled on what would be the best fit system for my situation. The price was very fair. It was the middle between the highest and lowest quotes that I had received from the other companies.
Cliff outlined his company mission statement rooted in military training and background. He explained in detail exactly how his team, lead by installer Jeff, would perform the new system project from de-install, removal, installation and clean-up. And "that when the installation was complete you would not even know they had been there".
I can testify that is EXACTLY how the project went. My wife was home throughout, 2 days from start to finish 3/23 - 3/24. And - you would not have known they were there!
One minor issue cropped up about one week later: the drain pump would from time to time make a tumble/bumping sound. Service Tech Kelly arrived the same day I made the service call. He identified and improved the issue and with determination, completely resolved it on his return visit.
A+ across the board for: Quality, Value, Professionalism, Responsiveness and Punctuality!

It is with great confidence I recommend this excellent company!!

I've dealt with a ton of HVAC contractors over the years but Southland is no doubt the best and the easiest to work with. Everyone I've met is friendly, professional and very good at what they do. From Cliff, Jeffery, Troy, Perry, Kelly, "Lunchbox", Charlton, and Melanie in the office, I couldn't be happier. I'm definitely sticking with Southland AC for all my future installs and repairs.

We’ve been using Southland for years. They are always fair and reliable. Recently had a new unit installed by Chris and Clifford. They couldn’t have been more professional and friendly.

Called Southland AC and they came out quickly. My bedroom AC was on, but not cooling, The AC tech Kelly came out and started his evaluation of the problem and in short time discovered the capacitor was out and not working. So he had one on his truck and replaced it. Now we’re cooling off again. Yeahhh Excellent super service, very professional and courageous. Thx highly recommend Southland AC. Pleased with their service.

Southland just finished replacing our 21-year-old air conditioning and heating unit. From start to finish - initial quote to job finished - they are an outstanding company. We'd recommend them to anyone needing maintenance or installation of such systems. We'd also give them and, especially, the installation team six stars, but we're only allowed to give ifive.

Great customer service. I was able to get service done the same day. Cliff, Rome, Charles very professional they went above and beyond with fast installation. Also Rome suggested the Air Scrubber I did some research and the reviews spoke for itself and I went on and got it. The air quality in the home is amazing especially with pets. We recently had a new American Standard AC and furnace installed. The new unit is very quiet and efficient. Our install crew of Michael and Selvin did a great job, they were very professional, courteous, prompt, and hard working. Our salesman Cliff made sure every detail was perfect and what we wanted.

Southland went above and beyond to install additional ductwork and registers in my 1800 year old New Orleans home where all my A/C and ductwork is located in under my home. I have been a customer since 2010 when they installed a new central system and I have never been dissatisfied with the quality and professionalism of the organization. I have been having AC/Heating issues since I purchased my home in 2004. I’ve replaced the condenser, coils, and furnace, and still have had problems. This year, it’s been really hot. I called to have my AC checked, and the company told me that my problems were caused by attic ventilation, unit sizing and insufficient insulation in my attic. After speaking to other companies, I decided to contact Home Depot. I called them on a Thursday, and they referred me to Southland Air Conditioning & Heating. Southland scheduled an appointment for me that Friday. Southland’s representative, Peter Ford, came and went over everything with me. What I was most impressed about was that he didn’t just tell me what was wrong, he showed me. He took measurements, wrote up quotes and told me my options. After, he scheduled a crew to come to my home along with an electrician to handle other issues I had. Monday morning, Michael, the installer, showed up to my home with a helper. They were knowledgeable, professional and courteous. They did not waste any time and cleaned up afterwards.They completed the job by noon Wednesday, which included a new system, ducts, grilles, thermostat, etc. Their overall performance was outstanding. I will refer them to all my family and friends. Thank you, Southland!

After scheduling an appointment for an estimate to replace the HVAC system in my home, I met with Peter Ford. Mr. Ford was punctual, knowledgeable, and helpful. His assessment was more detailed than any of the other three estimators who preceded him. He tailored a solution that not only met my equipment needs, but also my budget requirements. Mr. Ford is a true professional and a credit to his company.

The installation crew (Jeff and Jessie) arrived on time the morning that the 2-day process was scheduled to begin. I was pleasantly surprised that one of their first tasks was to protect my flooring from the front door to the work site. Throughout the process, they encountered several challenges that were a result of incorrect or sub-par installations of previous HVAC contractors. Each time they made the necessary corrections with a positive, "can do" approach. Not only did they complete every detail that the salesman had promised, but they went above and beyond whenever an unforeseen problem presented. Their knowledge, skill and professionalism were impressive. Even after they left, I discovered an issue and Jeff returned and completely resolved the issue within an hour and a half.

Southland, sorry it took me a year to post my review, but I’ve had a year of great AC since y’all replaced my failed unit. Southland’s service and hospitality is top notch. I priced out 5 companies and they were the best. After getting their quote, they said they could do it the following day. But I held off as I wanted to get another two quotes. Unfortunately when I decided to go through them they had understandably already booked their installers on another job and couldn’t start for another three days. However, knowing we had a kid and it was a scorching hot summer they provided and installed two window units to hold us over... free of charge!

Also, we went through Home Depot which enabled us to get two years of 0% financing, which was super helpful.

Thanks a lot Southland, we’ll be using you again when our second unit goes out in the next couple of years!

Southland installed a new air conditioner and heater in my home and went out of their way to make sure that the installation went smoothly. They were neat, arrived on time and even let my dog in and out of my house when I had to leave. The installation was a challenge because of the configuration of my old house. I would not hesitate to use them again and would recommend their services to anyone interested in quality installation.

Great experience! Value and honesty is what you hope to find in a company and that was my experience today. I was told yesterday that my 10 year old American Standard AC including furnace should to be replaced at a cost of over $8000. I had some minor cooling issues possibly related to my other unit and the diagnosis seemed pretty extreme. I called Southland for a second opinion as they are American Standard dealers. Kelly came out today, ran diagnostics, confirmed that refrigerant levels were OK, sealed up a leak he found in the ductwork where hot air was getting in, made sure it was cooling as designed, and left me feeling confident that my system is just fine. That cost me $98 instead of $8000. Be careful who you call. Some people will try to sell you a new unit just because it’s 10 years old. Honest people like Kelly at Southland will do what’s right. Thanks again Kelly and Southland from you newest customer.

We had a new ac/heating unit installed over a week ago and I can't say enough of how pleased we are. Jeff and his helper did an amazing job, respected our home and finished in great time. I definitely highly recommend Southland and we're very happy with our new unit.

We are very happy with our new Mitsubishi mini split a/c and heating system which was installed last week by Southland. They did a premium job and the system works so flawlessly. Jeff the lead installer knew exactly what he was doing and everyone on the installation crew was a pleasure to work with. We also appreciate all the help contributed by Peter Ford in giving us advice on what should be done and how to work with the Historic District Landmarks Commision's regulations for houses such as ours. We can easily recommend Southland to anyone and have absolutely no complaints.

Jordan met me at my investment property to strap down my new air conditioner unit, which is located on top of the building. He recognized from a previous visit that the unit needed to be strapped down. So he came back to do it!
