All around positive experience. Prompt appointment with the very qualified and experienced estimator, Paul, who kept tabs on the boiler replacement job right to the end and afterwards. Cory did a meticulous job of installation, one I’d be proud to have done if I could have. The associated chimney flue placement was timed for the same time making the process quicker and less disruptive. Their choice of boiler brand was one with a good reputation. I knew nothing about boilers before last month. In addition, the pricing was competitive with other quotes I received. Obviously, I’m very pleased. Thanks, Paul.

We have used A J Michael’s for many years both for heating and cooling, and recently had extensive plumbing issues that their crews handled admirably. Immediately reachable with prompt follow up with professional and personable crews that were on time and thorough. We would never use anyone else

I think if they had charged less money, I wouldn't have been so annoyed with the low quality of the work and cheap materials. We paid about 13k for a bathroom remodel. They gutted and redid the bathroom about 5 years ago.

Pros: Great job on the green board walls. The electric is all wonderful as is the plumbing, which are the major points. They did come out and fix the wood in the window (mentioned below) so I appreciate that a lot

Cons: I wanted a recessed medicine cabinet. They did not inform me that this would make it lopsided from the counter top. It just doesn't look right. But I can live with that. They used WOOD TRIM on the window in the shower (#oldhouseproblems) I am not a contractor, but I have many friends and family in other areas who are. You don't use wood in the shower. It started warping. I appreciate that they replaced it with plastic but why would you use wood in the first place? The tiles on the floor were not installed well. If tiles are not firmly installed into the grout/glue/stuff, they will crack easily. Tile is supposed to be super durable. We don't drop tons of heavy things in our bathroom. We walk on it. We've probably dropped a shampoo bottle or a hair brush. There is no reason that the tile should have as many hairline cracks as it does. Now we have a dent in our tub. I'm not even sure how that can happen unless you use the cheapest tub possible.

tl;dr: They cut corners or just didn't do it right for other things, and charged a lot. I definitely can't recommend them.

EDIT: I was not aware of their warranty. It is good for 10 years. After contacting me via my review, they came out and replaced the tile with sheet vinyl at my request. They replaced the splitting vanity as well as added quarter round on the perimeter of the room. They said the dented tub was not their fault.

I still can't give them 5 stars, but I am much happier with the work and I think it will be a lot more durable. The carpenter that came out this time seemed a lot more experienced and knowledgeable than the one that came out the first time. I am adjusting my review to 3 stars because I'm I'm still frustrated that we had to go thru all this, I am happy that they stood by their work and made it right.

Highly recommended. I had this job quoted by several well known local firms. A.J. Michaels proposal was the only one that addressed all the deficiencies with the existing systems. Forget about those companies that advertise on the radio all the time, these are the guys you want.

We contacted A.J. Michaels when our water heater was leaking. They were able to send an estimator out within a couple of hours to give us a free estimate and he gave us a price on the spot to replace it. This was our third estimate--including one from our home warranty company--and it was by far the highest quality product as well as the most competitive price. We had an A.O. Smith heater (the same brand as the one they were replacing that had lasted over 25 years) installed that same day and the two gentlemen who came to install it were efficient, courteous, and careful. They covered our white carpet, covered nearby sprinkler heads, and completed the job in under three hours. After they finished, they took the time to answer our questions and explain how our new water heater works, which I really appreciated. I HIGHLY recommend A.J. Michaels and can say they will be the first call I make the next time we have any issues!

I have been a happy customer of AJ Michaels for more than six years. They installed my whole house air conditioner about six years ago and they have taken very good care of us over the years. Everyone we have had contact with has been wonderful. This morning one of their technicians arrived, on time, to replace some parts. He did a great job. He is polite, competent, efficient, knowledgeable and friendly. I highly and without reservation recommend this company!

I had a very positive experience with A.J. Michaels from estimate through installation. My old furnace in my rowhome was no longer up to code, and it was a big job to install a new high energy furnace and update all the piping and PVC exhaust. They also had to deal with my 130-pound dog. They were professional and respectful. I highly recommend.

I received great service from AJ Michaels to install a mini split in my loft. To begin with received a very good proposal that was better in terms of price and the unit itself. Once I accepted the proposal, a convenient data was arranged for installation. The installers were very professional and courteous. All work was done in a timely manner. Certainly would deal with them again.

Could not have been happier with this company. Had furnace and AC replaced. Did the install in one day, took away the old and cleaned up. They guys were the best. Would recommend anyone thinking of replacing a system this is the company to use. The old units were installed by the same company over 40 yrs ago. Both still worked but couldn't get the refrigerant anymore for the heat pump. So, we decided to replace both. A great company

We recently called A.J. Michaels to replace our terra cotta sewer pipes with new pipes. The price was reasonable and they did an outstanding job. I've seen other houses getting the pipes replaced in their front yard and the plumber rips up their entire yard. That's the way it was done 30 years ago. Today, it should be much cleaner. A.J. Michaels dug a reasonable hole at the house and a hole at the end of the yard ONLY. Now I have to do a little landscaping and cement work, but once that's done you'll have no idea they dug up my yard. And the water in my house is flowing again with no backups! I highly recommend them! In fact, I've called them several times before. They also replaced my clean water line years ago. Both times profession service and I'm a satisfied customer.

Everyone has been considerate and caring. They show up on time and were very patient with the family. The price was very reasonable. They listened to what we wanted and told us what they could offer instead of pushing us to something we didn’t need. I really like that about AJ Michael’s.

My wife and I are originally from Baltimore, but had moved away more than a decade ago. Recently, we purchased a second home so that we could spend quality time near our daughter and son-in-law, who are starting a family in the Baltimore area. The home was built in 1930 and it was clear after a few weeks that it was very drafty. This was confirmed after receipt of our first few utility bills, including reports from BGE showing us that our electric bills were as much as 58% higher than all homes in our area and 175% higher than those homes deemed efficient.

Under BGE’s Home Performance Program, we were able to select AJ Michaels as a prime contractor for the needed upgrades. We didn’t hesitate to choose them based on our excellent experience with them in decades past, and we are happy to report that they expertly guided us through selection of various energy upgrades, and performed these projects along with some excellent partner companies. The work included a new A/C compressor and updated air handler, sealing of the A/C ductwork through an incredible technology called Aerosealing, air sealing and insulation of the attic, including cleaning and disinfecting of the attic space (very important to us with my wife’s asthma), encapsulation of our crawl spaces and rim joists, and insulation of the exterior and foundation walls. We are benefiting enormously from this work, and the data shows so far that our electric bills are lower than the efficient homes in the area. We wholeheartedly recommend AJ Michaels.

First of all they ripped me off on the price of my unit. They did the classic bait n switch. And they told me it would be a Bryant unit and then they sold it to somebody else leaving me no option but to get a rheem which is a ok unit. I’ve had it for 4yrs and first thing that went wrong was the lines had a hole in it and leaked out all the r410. And now since they did work I’m getting a loud horn noise after the unit charges and I just wanted someone to take a look and they want $289 just to look at it. Cuz the manufacturers warranty doesn’t cover labor. I just bought the unit in 2021! Do urself a favor n don’t use this company. There sales reps are sleezy and don’t care about u just the $ there gonna make. If anyone doesn’t believe me I’ll post the emails back n fourth with these people.

Aj Michael's just did a new hvac install for me in time for the incoming cold weather. Paul was great from start to finish. Beat several other estimates I received. Installers were professional and answered all questions we had. Highly recommend.

I had a nice experience from the initial sales visit with Paul through the installation with Rick. Paul was very helpful in providing some promotional pricing and tax deductions with our purchase. I was impressed with the professionalism and care of the installation process. Rick and his crew cared to make it work and look the best with a care for my property.
