WARNING: Stay Away from This Electrician!

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with "Lou Electrical Contracting" was so dangerous, unprofessional, and costly that I feel obligated to warn others.

I hired Lou Benitez to handle electrical work in my home, expecting a professional job. Instead, he left faulty wiring that nearly caused a fire, putting my family and property at serious risk. I started noticing flickering lights, outlets that wouldn’t work, and even burning smells coming from the walls. When I called him to address these issues, he either made excuses or ignored my messages.

Not only did he fail to fix his mistakes, but he also never completed the job. I was left with exposed wires, half-finished work, and a potential fire hazard. Frustrated and concerned for my safety, I had to hire another licensed electrician to inspect and fix everything. The new electrician confirmed that the wiring was done completely wrong, and I had to pay out of pocket to have everything redone from scratch.

This was not just a bad experience—it was a dangerous and expensive mistake. I would strongly advise anyone looking for an electrician to stay far away from Lou Electrical Contracting. If you care about safety and professionalism, hire someone else.

Was looking for a professional licensed electrician and after getting 2 verbal quotes that I knew were too high I found Lou! He did a great job reliable on time and provided a price before the job.

I will be using him for electrical needs moving forward!

I had a great experience with Lou Electrical. Lou spent 31/2 hours pull and ing wire and fixing areas that needing attention. He was always very nice and a clean worker. Lou gave me a very reasonable quote. I would highly recommend Lou for any electrical needs.

On a Saturday I registered with a site to connect me with an electrician. While some services provided responses from representatives who didn't tell me much other than they didn't have availability until Monday and there would be a minimum charge just for making the trip but they couldn't give me any idea how much the service would cost… unlike them, Lou responded to me personally and came out the next day on a Sunday (free of charge) to give me a quote. He agreed to a lower price than initially quoted, pointed out some small things he threw in for free and gave me an additional discount when I paid him the day of service which he completed quickly and thoroughly a few days later, ensuring he met the deadline I provided so I wouldn't have to reschedule my appliance delivery. Lou was friendly and knowledgable. Highly recommend!

I had a fantastic experience with Lou Electric! He is extremely professional, knowledgeable, and took his time to make sure the job was done right. What really stood out was that he didn’t rush through the service—he stayed afterward to double-check that everything was working properly before he left. Very good experience. Lou was very educated in his trade, professional, friendly and efficient. Clean up was great. We were extremely pleased. - 7/31/25 - Sorry to say I must revise my review. Fan install went well until the first fan motor was bad, making noise, so we returned it, got a new fan and Lou came to install it. He had to go up in the attic as he said the fan box was wrong. He didn't have one with him so he said he'd purchase one and be back in a couple of days. That was the last that I heard from Lou! I tried numerous times to reach him but no response. So the job remains incomplete. Bad work ethics. We are very surprised and disappointed.

Had a great experience with Lou Electrical! Lou installed three switches, replaced a GFCI outlet, and wired up my attic fan—all quickly and with zero hassle. Lou electrical recently heavy up the eletricity in my two investment properties, with some brand new wiring; and Lou did a fantastic job! Very impressed! I've received good maintenance service for several years from Boyland. Their techs are competent.

Boyland installed a replacement Generac for us in 2020. It covers our entire house. The installation was terrific- professional, neat, functions exactly as proposed. Their expertise was impressive. Since then they have provided excellent annual maintenance.
I also note that they did an amazing job installing my ChargePoint EV Charger and feeding a 240V circuit into my kitchen for a new convection oven.

I have had only excellent experiences with Boyland Electric and the Generac generator they installed about 10 ten years ago. The technicians are professional, thorough and personable. The service contract is fair and reassuring. And perhaps most important to me, a real human being, attentive and helpful, answers the telephone or responds to emails on the spot. No robots here. :)

We had a 48 kW liquid-cooled generator installed by Boyland. Excellent experience. All people, especially Doug, Sara, and Katy were invaluable from the estimate stage until installation and beyond. The whole installation was a great experience. The best place to go for a worry-free installation and maintenance experience. Awesome experience, quality, and customer care.

Yesterday Boyland Electric installed a Kohler 26kw standby generator and the crew arrived on time each person doing their specific task. They were neat, knowledgeable, and overall an excellent crew of 6 -7. They provided a briefing of the unit and answered many questions. The unit was tested and everything was running like clockwork. This is the first time using Boyland Electric and their workers, front office, and owner Doug were great!

Boyland Electric services my Carrier generator. I had an issue where the generator was not starting and Boyland was able to come out in a timely manner and make the necessary repairs to get it up and running again! Their price was very reasonable and the service technician took the time to show me the repairs needed and what potentially caused the problem.
