They saved me a lot of money by installing the Goodman heat pump with the old refrigerant line. I was thinking of more expensive brands, also, was planning to rip off the ceiling (3rd floor) and install the 3/8 inches liquid refrigerant line (instead of the old 1/4" line which is "not recommended").

I got quote from 4 different companies, this one was the best price for the same HVAC model. They were fast and on time. Strongly recommended.

I reached out to AG late afternoon when we realized our AC was blowing room temperature air, they squeezed us in at a late hour. Mike came and did some testing of our system. Suggested and installed a new capacitor based on testing and tempered my expectation for the worst but ultimately said to hold off and see if things corrected over night, and they did.

When our family moved into our home a couple of years ago, we were told that our HVAC system would need replacing "soon," as it was pretty old. We had previously brought out AG Heating & Cooling to refill the refrigerant for our AC unit, as we weren't ready to do a full system replacement at the time.

However, we decided a few weeks ago to move forward with replacing our system and reached out to AG H&C -- along with several other companies -- for a quote to replace our AC, furnace, and coil.

Antonio was quick to respond and was able to answer all of the questions I had about the project, including specifics on the equipment his team was planning to install. All of the communication was done via text/chat, and everything was made clear from the beginning. We scheduled an on-site appointment to finalize the quote (to ensure there were no unique circumstances with our furnace/AC) and were able to schedule the day of work once the final quote came in. I received several quotes for this project from different companies and found AG's to be the most reasonable and clearly explained.

The team did a great job on the day of the project. They arrived on time and worked through most of the day to complete the installation. They took good care of the property throughout and walked me through all the relevant components at the end of the day. Payment was easy, and the team was gone well before 5 p.m.!

Very happy with Mike and George's and owner Antonio's install and quote. Mike came out and diagnosed our furnace and owner Antonio provided several quotes. They were able to get the soonest during a very cold time. We found another part had issues (not part of their install) that kept us from getting heat and they came out the next morning to fix that as well (required a part from the warehouse). This is a family business, it doesn't have all the fancy website and email quotes, but they had good price and text communication and quote by email.

I got a new Goodman HVAC with AG. My old Trane HVAC had a coil leak after only seven years of use. To fix the coil leak would've cost me over 5K. Antonio gave me a great quote so l decided to give AG a try.
Mike and his crew came and installation was a breeze.
It's been a few weeks now and the HVAC is running great. It comes with a 10 year HVAC warranty, and two years of complementary maintenance service provided by AG. What an absolute bargain!! If you need a new HVAC I highly recommend AG.

It is nice to finally find an HVAC tech who is trust worthy. I what I thought had a capacitor fail and at my rental property in the middle of a heat wave, called up 3 other larger companies and they all wanted to charge me $700-$1000 to come out (the part is $30 and takes 15 minutes to replace) Their response was that its a scam and they wouldn't charge 1/5th that price.

I have used them twice now and the prices are very reasonable and trustworthy. 5 stars!!!

This past ice storm killed my Trane HVAC system. The system was old and not maintained very well; regardless, the situation was an emergency and AG Heating Cooling Duct Cleaning was the only business in the Alexandria area that responded immediately. Mark told me that the system was not patchable and after 17 years I wasn't surprised. He told me that they would send two quotes by the afternoon. I checked the prices for the quotes and they were very reasonable, so I made arrangements for the order.
AG got back to me and stated that the unit was at the shop and they would be there the next day to install it. The install was on 29 January and the elements were not ideal. Mark and Melvin showed up and had the new system installed and running in several hours. I was impressed with the professionalism and teamwork of Mark and Melvin.
Finally, Mark walked me through the inside and outside unit and told me to call if anything was not working properly. He was professional and courteous, and he stated that AG would be back in the spring to check that the unit was running properly (part of the plan AG offers to customers).

This place came highly recommended and the consistent five star reviews are impressive. Maybe they do the best work at the best price. I doubt I will ever know because they won’t schedule me, return my phone calls, respond to the email they asked me to send or otherwise engage. This has been going on for nearly a month. My home is less than two miles from their location so this is not a service area issue. They’re simply not being responsive and that’s a huge disappointment.

I had a 5 zone mini-split system installed by BMC/Clower in July 2020. It worked perfectly through the end of last summer. When I turned it on for the first time this spring, it was not blowing cold air. I called them for service. The technician said that the refrigerant had all leaked out. He refilled it, then said that I needed to wait a month before the leak can be located. (I now know that this isn’t true.) I asked if the next appointment would be automatically scheduled for me or did I need to call their office again? And he said “you need to call us.”

A month later, I called and as soon as I said my name, the person said “oh sorry we haven’t scheduled your next appointment yet!” (doesn’t match what the technician said) “We’ve been so busy! But we expect to do your job Thursday or Friday of this week.” When I called again on that Friday, ”we’re still so busy! It won’t be this week.” I called again 1.5 weeks later, and was told “one of our techs has been out this week. We’ll get to your job next week!” I called again two weeks later, a different person answered the phone and said “the person you need to speak to can’t come to the phone right now. Can she call you back?” She didn’t, and that was a week ago. I’m using a lot of exclamation points because these people are very oily.

I decided that if their reasons were legitimate, they wouldn’t be handling it like this. I asked a second HVAC contractor for a consultation. I explained the whole situation, and he said that finding a leak in a 5 zone system could potentially be a very labor intensive job. His company would send a two-person crew ($250/hour) and it could take an entire day. About $2000. He speculated that BMC/Clower is trying to avoid having to do this job for free, as I am still under a 1 year warranty for their labor.

In hindsight, before the installation, the owner said it would be done in two days. In reality it took three entire days. The crew worked diligently the whole time. The extra day didn’t seem like a big deal at the time, but now I wonder if the owner has a habit of scheduling unrealistic turnarounds. Which would mean the crews are always behind schedule, and working under time pressure. This would explain why they did a less than thorough job, and can’t find time for the all the problems they need to go back and fix.

Right now, the AC still works. The leak is small enough that it will probably be next spring before I need it fixed. I’m going to budget $2000 so I can hire the other contractor to repair the leak. I wouldn’t trust BMC/Clower to do the repair now, even if they wanted to do it for free.

This is one first class company. I had a new heat pump installed and couldn't be more pleased with the service provided. I contacted several companies only to be greeted with sales people trying to pry the most money out of me. Not B.M.C. Clower. My first person to person interaction with the company was the owner. He went over the entire project with me and provided me with a price that obviously did not include all the sales staff markups that I was encountering with every other company. The install techs couldn't of been more professional and treated my house as if it were their own. If you are in the market for anything heating and air stop right here.
