Constraction reviews in Wakefield, Massachusetts

Mendez and team did an incredible job restoring our old home and I strongly recommend giving them an opportunity.

There was obvious pride in their craft and they went the extra mile to do the job right.

The key to a good paint job is preparation and they went above and beyond in the prep work. The existing paint was peeling and Mendez’s team scrapped the majority of our clapboards down to the wood to make sure the new coats went on properly.

From the beginning to the end they were transparent and professional.

Two year follow up:
I was looking at my house the other day and it struck me, two years after Mendez and crew finished, that the paint still looks fantastic!

Our house had a chronic pealing issue and their team fixed it. Two years on and no issues. Will certainly be reaching back out to them when the time does come for a touch-up.
Thanks again!

Mendez painting was great. From the free estimate, which was very reasonable, to the prepping, repairs, priming and final painting, we were very satisfied. The crew worked very hard everyday. We were also impressed with their professionalism, courtesy, and responsiveness to our questions. They were very reliable, and it shows in their high quality work. I've already recommended them to some friends and will continue to do so. Thank you Mendez painting!

Florentino and his crew at Mendez Painters did a phenomenal job painting our house. We are so happy with the results. All phases
of the process were handled professionally and with open communication. They arrived when promised and were very detail oriented during prep and painting stages. Mendez also did a great job replacing some trim boards and adding some additional trim plates behind our exterior lights. I have already recommended Florentino to a few people, including work clients and I intend to use Mendez Painters for other projects over the winter. If you are looking for a skilled painting crew who are hard working, honest, reliable and do great work, Mendez Painters is the way to go.

I recently had Mendez Landscaping do a refresh of my front yard shrubs and landscaping. I’d already hired them to paint my home as I’ve seen the quality work they do. Shrubs needed to be removed (there 20+ years) and flowers beds cleaned & mulched. They did a great job & done in one day! As a bonus they cleaned up my front walkway!! The house looks so much better!! I would recommend hiring them for any landscaping jobs you are considering. Great work at a competitive price!! Also, as expected the paint job was stellar. Best one we’ve gotten done in our 26 years here. Carpentry work also well done. House looks so much better! Here are before/after pics

Mendez Painters did a great job preparing and repainting our house. They put a lot of effort into scraping and power sanding areas with loose paint and multiple layers of old, cracked paint. After the primer dried for a few days, they sanded again with finer grit paper. They carefully masked off windows, roofing, foundation areas, etc to avoid overspray when spraying or rolling primer, then white trim, then yellow siding. They also laid out all of the shutters on plastic sheeting and sprayed them after I did various repairs. The Mendez team is friendly and very hard working.

Mendez Painters did an excellent job and had the best quality communication which is a hard combination to find. The preparation was very high quality and the detailed approach was even more than I expected. They paid such close attention to everything and even let me know about a rotted corner of my roof fascia that they then took care of. My house went from being old to being new! I already recommended them to 2 coworkers.

This was the third time that I painted my house. I hired Mendez Painters this time and they did an amazing job on both the carpentry and the paint. The time that they took to properly prep (sanding, power washing, proper time for primer curing, etc.) will ensure that this paint job will last for years and years. They also took great care not to trample the plants around the foundation! I am very happy with the job that they did.

Absolutely terrible experience.

Boston Best Construction performed incomplete and substandard work and left my home in a disruptive and unacceptable condition. The project was abandoned midway, causing significant stress, financial loss, and ongoing disruption to my daily life.

After collecting a substantial upfront payment, they refused to complete the work or refund the portion they never finished. Communication quickly broke down, and instead of working toward a resolution, I was met with threats of legal action simply for requesting a fair adjustment based on the incomplete work.

What’s especially concerning is that this does not appear to be an isolated incident. Other customers — including Lisa, Sean Kelly, Simba, and others — have shared very similar experiences such as the absence of a general contractor on-site, repeated delays, and unfinished or unresolved work. I strongly encourage anyone considering this company to read those reviews carefully.

There are also publicly available legal records involving this company, including a case with the Massachusetts Fair Labor Division (you can search for “Boston Best Construction LLC v. Fair Labor Division LB-24-0016” for more information).

This entire situation felt extremely unfair and intimidating. No homeowner should have to deal with this level of unprofessionalism and lack of accountability.

Based on my experience, I strongly urge others to think twice and thoroughly research before hiring. There are far more reliable, honest, and professional contractors out there.

Excellent

I had a meeting with Boston’s Best Construction and was very impressed with their facility and Eduardo Muniz’s ideas for renovation a home.

Don't waste your time. Took weeks to even get a preliminary estimate (that was incorrect). The person they sent out to do the assessment couldn't even answer basic questions about how they operate. They missed a few things on the original estimate so I asked them to add them on and reissue and they completely ghosted me. Wouldn't return a single one of many voicemails and texts left over the last 2 weeks. Do yourself a favor and go with someone professional. If they didn't want to quote it, then be respectful and say so, don't waste peoples time as they wait around for you.

Edit: Eduardo your response is a clear lie so add that to my review too. Once I asked the for the estimate to be updated, I stopped getting any texts or phone calls back. I called my contact every two days for two weeks and left voicemails to see what was happening with it before realizing you guys were just blowing me off. Shouldn't take receiving an honest review to make you guys reach out finally
