Got an exorbitant quote from another company about an easy as pie gas line repair, which ticked me off. Called these guys and within an hour had the work done at less than half the price. Thanks John!!!

Working with John and Onyx Plumbing was an exceptional experience. He was friendly and so just helpful. He took the time to help me learn as well as get things up and running. I know there a ton of folks out there you can call, but I simply won’t bother working with anyone else. I really could not be happier working with anyone. They earned my business this weekend and a lifetime moving forward.

TLDR: John and Zach were amazing! They came over on very short notice, helped us diagnose some VERY strange issues with our plumbing & venting and also upgraded the gas pipes in our house (which were leaking) to the 21st century. They answered all our questions with a smile (even the goofy ones) We are very pleased with our experience. I wouldn't hesitate at all to recommend Onyx for any of your Twin Cities plumbing needs!

We had a gas leak and needed a gas certified plumber to help with the repair. Zach and John came out within an hour of our service call on a Friday evening and were efficient and thorough with the job. We appreciated that they took time to explain what they were doing and why. If we have any plumbing/gas needs in the future, we would definitely call Onyx again!

I had a very disappointing experience with this company. In a moment of urgency, their paperwork was intentionally vague, leaving out any specific details, which allowed them to charge as much as they could. The work order I signed had zero specifications. I personally measured the original black gas line twice and confirmed there was a clear discrepancy in what was billed.
What was even more concerning was how they handled the Google review. John specifically asked me to go get my phone, hovered over me, and insisted I leave a 5-star review. When the link wouldn’t work, he had me try four times until it did. He then told me to write a comment and even had me hold up my phone so he could take a picture of it. It felt manipulative and inappropriate. This isn’t in dispute, and their own email confirms it happened.

Because of this, I’m updating my review to reflect the full truth about my experience

John was available and came in on a Saturday to install a water softener. He was in and out in under two hours. After he left all my water was working again except one of my sinks wasn't working. I called John the next day and explained my issue and he came back the next day and fixed my sink free of charge! He showed me how the sink can get debris can get stuck when turning your water system off and on and an easy way to fix in the future! Appreciate him making a second trip out (on a Sunday). I will be using this company for any future needs!

John did a fantastic job replacing a 50 Gal water heater that started gushing out all over my basement floor on Saturday morning of a holiday weekend. By Saturday evening, all was well and we were able to enjoy our holiday.

Collin and Trenton were great to work with. We had a leaking valve, and they came out immediately, diagnosed the problem, and fixed it in less than an hour at a very reasonable price. This was a good solution to a surprise problem, and I will definitely be working with them again in the future.

I had a leaky water heater in my basement and plumber from Onyx plumbing came out within 2 hours after I called them. They did a wonderful job replacing my water heater, and even cleaned up my old mess. I really appreciate for their well trained plumber who are truly skillful and professional.

Onyx Plumbing had come out to my house a day later after giving them a call and I worked with John.

John was able to identify what needed to be updated / replaced to be up to code since my house is a little older. Very nice team to work with and plan this project out! He went the distance and made me feel very comfortable with the quote they had provided and I look forward to having them service my house!

John from Onyx came out to help us on short notice with a gas fire table for our new patio. He was extremely knowledgeable and courteous and got us up and running, even running past normal working hours on a Friday afternoon. Would recommend these guys, particularly if you need gas work done. Not all plumbers are equal, these guys are great.

I can’t say enough good things about Trenton and Onyx Plumbing & Gas. From start to finish, the experience was outstanding.
