I had a pipe to my dishwasher break early Friday morning. Paul answered the call at 8:00AM, tried to assist with getting the water shut off over the phone, and when that didn't work he was able to add us to his schedule for that day.
Paul also has great communication about what is going on, and what the costs will be, so there is no surprise at the end.

Paul is fantastic! He truly cares about his customers and wants the best for them. I really appreciated his attention to detail when working on my tub/shower and his willingness to share his knowledge. He approaches problems like an engineer, finding effective and efficient solutions.

I'm an out-of-state duplex owner and trust Athena Care with all of my plumbing needs. Paul has replaced two water heaters and done some kitchen sink work for me. I'm very pleased with all of his work and plan to continue using his services. Even if it's work he doesn't do, he's helped recommend someone else to help with it.

During the polar vortex, our water main froze. I called Paul who was getting hammered with phone calls and requests. Paul gave me free advice over the phone, and spent approximately 30 min speaking with me and reviewing photos of my situation. After the issue was resolved, he followed up with me to ensure that the problem was fixed. He clearly goes above and beyond for his community. I highly recommend Paul for any plumbing services, and hope to use his services again in the future.

As a first-time customer with a plumbing emergency, Paul was very accommodating and was able to fit me into his schedule on short notice. Not only were his rates quite reasonable for an emergency service call but he was also very professional and did excellent work. I will definitely use AthenaCare for my future plumbing needs.

Called Athena Care because that's what came up in a google search with my area and plumber in the search field. Paul came the next day, explained to me the potential costs, the situation, and fixed the drain very quickly, he even went as far as replacing the gaskets and aerator around the sink at no extra cost. He was super friendly and very honest about the costs which is important. I would do business with him again if another issue arises.

We were very pleased with Paul's work. He is very knowledgeable, hard working, timely, friendly and neat! He gave us an honest assessment on whether we actually needed some of the plumbing work on our list, when he could have said yes to everything and made more $. Charges were reasonable. (And no plumbers crack).

We had a great experience with Paul and would highly recommend him to anyone needing plumbing services! We were out of town for the weekend when my daughter called to say there was water on the basement floor that appeared to be coming from the water heater. I sent a photo to Paul (on a Sunday) and read through his website about water heater leaks. With the information I learned from his website and texting back and forth with Paul, we were able to determine the true cause of the water (the condenser pump from the air conditioner, not the water heater) and were able to quickly fix the problem on our own. Paul followed up with us to make sure everything was OK and we didn't even need to schedule a visit. We will most definitely use him again the next time (and there's always a next time) we need plumbing work done!

I am a repeat Athena customer because Paul knows what he's doing, helps me problem solve first (he has had me fix quick fixes over the phone to save him coming over and save me money and I see in other reviews he's done that for others too); and is always fair and honest. If he says something needs doing, it needs doing, he is not up-selling or sneaking in extra charges. He talks me through everything he does and why. All the work he's done for me (three separate houses and 2 businesses) are done right the first time, and he can identify preventative options too. Today he recommending hiring a guy with a camera to look at my pipes, and boy am I glad I did! The pipe to the street was FULL of roots - a problem just waiting to happen. It was much better to do this preventatively than waiting for the problem to occur. I really think his advice like this has saved me money and future issues on several occasions. I enjoy Paul's sense of humor, don't find him to be abrupt like the 1 star reviews say. Efficient, to the point not abrupt. BUT - I'd be happy with a curmudgeonly plumber if he was as thorough, honest and efficient as Paul.

I highly recommend Paul for all plumbing needs. He does a great job of setting realistic cost expectations and offers solid advice as to where savings are to be had responsibly. I’ve used him on multiple occasions and most recently he went above and beyond to help me out of a jam the day before a big holiday weekend (highly appreciated!). I will not hesitate to use him for any future needs that arise.

I don't live in town and have to drive in quite a ways to deal with any house problems. Our new house had some left over plumbing issues. Paul at Athena Care had a good rating and is located in our area. how lucky for me. He got to our problems in a timely fashion, diagnosed the problems quickly and proposed solutions that did not break the bank. He also explained what he was doing and why he was doing it. Paul has done work at my personal residence several times. He has always done an outstanding job. Most importantly, it has been my perception that he has always been honest and fair, and at a reasonable price. I have always felt comfortable with him in my home. Trust is a big thing for me with someone providing a service of this nature, and I feel he has earned mine. He is also a very personal fellow and has provided timely service when I have needed it. I had a plumbing emergency on a Friday and Paul arrived as promised, in the early afternoon. I am partially disabled and the only shower I can access was now useless. My apprehension was that I was at a plumber’s mercy for cost not only due to the urgency, but also because of my choices; I didn’t trust the bigger companies. Being mostly bedridden, it's easy to feel vulnerable to dishonest tradesmen and feel like I am an easy mark to take advantage of. The extensive information on his web site helped convince me I was going to be in good hands. An understatement. Paul was very straight forward in his evaluation of the problem and his description of what he needed to do to fix the problem. Imagine my relief and surprise when he handed me the bill for a fraction of the cost I had agreed to at the start of work, because he found an easier way to solve my problem. It is hard to imagine me finding any other plumber with this level of integrity. I really can't recommend Paul and Athena Care any stronger and encourage all to engage him with total confidence. After replacing the sink and counter top I discovered the new sink is lower than the old sink and drain connections had changed.
I sent a text to Paul with a photo of my issue.
Paul was very responsive, understood my needs and we set an appointment . Paul arrived right on time, went right to work connecting the drain all according to code. Athena Care provides quality workmanship at a great value. I am very happy with this quality service.

I've called Paul to come out several times to my home for minor plumbing issues. Recently, I had him come out to fix a minor gas leak. What I really appreciate is how Paul tells me up front what the estimated cost will be for the job. This time, the minor gas leak turned out to take much longer than he anticipated, and he still stayed within the initial amount he quoted me. Not only that, he went above and beyond to help save me some costs on another problem at the same visit. He's a great guy, I knew that the first time I met him and why I immediately called him again. I think because I'm a loyal customer, he will always go above and beyond and will continue to provide me with not only excellent service at fair prices, but information on how to save money with fixes I can do myself.

Paul was able to replace my water heater the same day I called. He is fast and efficient. I believe that he does as his website describes; great products at fair prices. This is the second time I’ve received the same great plumbing service to my home in Southwest Minneapolis.

I've hired Paul for several jobs and really enjoy working with him. Most recently he replaced a water heater for me. Paul is extremely prompt and responsive. I called him on a Thursday morning after the water heater died and he had the new one installed by 10:30 am the following day. Paul is a straight shooter and really knows his stuff. He holds himself to a very high standard in terms of the quality of his work and the materials/products he uses. As a result, he might not be the cheapest bid you get, but you generally get what you pay for.

Paul the Plumber is a great professional - super courteous and easy to get a hold of. I had an emergency plumbing need and called Paul, got him right away and he told me that he was busy with another customer, couldn't get to my emergency right away and selflessly referred me to another plumber so I could have my bathroom working and in order again! Talk about putting the customer first!

Our water heater failed a few days before we were scheduled to have family staying with us over Thanksgiving last year. I called Athena Care and Paul was able to get me in the schedule right away. It was not a simple job, several things weren't up to code and there was also an issue with a gas valve that required someone from Centerpoint to come out. Paul was great and helped us handle the situation with the gas company in a way that I doubt many other plumbers would have done. In the end the whole situation was resolved before my relatives arrived. Additionally the quality of his work was top notch (I have since had it inspected and they commented on how nice the installation and pipe welds were) and he was punctual, quick, friendly, honest and reasonably priced. Truly not much else you could ask for in a plumber and I highly recommend his services. I rarely write reviews but felt this was not only earned but necessary; thanks again Paul! (And sorry for not getting this review up sooner!)

Paul is not only a great plumber, but also a nice person. I originally met him when he repaired plumbing at a duplex I used to rent. He did all the plumbing repairs for my prior landlords. When I bought my own home and ran into some problems, I knew I was going to call Paul at Athena. He was always so helpful and considerate at my old rental.

I had a shower drain repair gone bad and called Paul. He offered to alter his plans a bit and come that very same day. That didn't work due to my work schedule, so we scheduled in the very near future when it worked for both of us. He came out and was able to remove a piece of PVC that was trapped inside a cast iron fitting in a very tight space. He then offered to finish putting the drain assembly back together. He also sold me this cool "water alarm" which is similar to a fire alarm, so I could tell is there were future leaks in this hidden area.

He did this all at a very fair, competitive price. I wouldn't hesitate to use him again for any plumbing needs!
