We found ‘Water Tanks Now’ (WTN) through Angie’s List. Shane from WTN was the first plumbing company to respond to our search for a plumbing comment to replace our leaky hot water tank.

We explained to Shane that replacing our existing tank might require more effort than a typical atmospheric water tank installation . Shane explained their pricing and booked a same day appointment for an inspection of our tank. Shane followed up with a written detailed proposal by email.

A WTN plumber named Tony came to our house in a couple hours, listened my recap of water tank issues - a previous plumber said our exhaust duct running up chimney needs a sleeve, or we could install a power vent and new exhaust duct thru foundation wall. Both scenarios should cost a lot more than the simple replacement of existing atmospheric water tank.

Tony did not think it was necessary to install a power vent as recommended by another plumber. Told him I needed a day to check with St. Paul plumbing inspector to get his input. Plumbing inspector looked at photos of our existing tank/duct installation and believed with confidence our existing system was installed per code.

So I called Shane back and booked an appointment to have tank replaced the next day. Tony came back and did the work as promised. Before leaving Tony patiently explained tank temp setting, and the need to bleed water out of tank once a year, .

Very professional communication and responsiveness. Top marks!

Great guy, great resource! I called for a quote on a water heater installation. Instead of just selling me a new water heater he educated me on a what will probably be a better solution for my needs! He asked a lot of questions and spent a lot of time understanding what I really needed and then gave me a reference for an HVAC guy. Even though I didn't end up hiring him (this time!) I will definitely call him back for my next plumbing issue.

I highly recommend Paul from Athena Care. Paul helped me out when I was in a bind with a burst water pipe. He was extremely knowledgeable, professional, very reasonably priced, and an all-around good guy. He went above and beyond, getting up into a crawl space with a bum ankle! It's great to find someone you can trust and actually get to know on a personal level.

Paul contacted me within 5 minutes of my request. He helped me resolve my plumbing issue in less than 10 minutes!
I appreciate that he values my time and provides the most cost effective solution.
    Call Paul!!!!

Honest, prompt, conscientious, and does quality work. Paul doesn't mess around and won't waste your money and time. A real "old home plumbing expert", unlike the guys in the red vans with the fancy ads who (in my experience) try to sell you more work than you actually need to have done.

We had a leaking water heater in our home in Edina. Paul was able to diagnose and fix it very quickly. He's knowledgeable and the price was reasonable. He will be my go-to for plumbing from now in.

Paul is the best! He has handled everything from leaking faucets to replacing the valves for the water line coming in from the street. He explains what he's doing in terms we understand. We would trust him with any plumbing problem, big or small.

I have hired Paul repeatedly to help with plumbing needs. He is always very responsive, considerate, on time and has very reasonable prices. I will definitely call him for the next plumbing issue that comes up.

I'm a young homeowner who has very little experience with plumbing and upkeep of the home. Just recently, I had a pretty common problem with a leaky faucet that ended up causing a puddle of water underneath my sink. Being the oblivious homeowner newbie, I freaked out calling my local Hardware Store for advice. They recommended that I call Paul Jursik, stating that he was a no nonsense plumber who tells it like it is. I took their advice and was extremely pleased. Paul helped me diagnose the problem over the phone and helped solve my problem with relative ease. Best yet, because he was able to diagnose the problem via phone and he saved me $100 for a service call. In a day and age of greedy human beings, Paul Jursik clearly defies that notion. I am very pleased with his straightforwardness and overall service, and will definitely call him in the event of futher plumbing issues.

I can't say enough good things about Paul! I live in a S Mpls house, built in 1923, and the plumbing is original. The Monday of Thanksgiving week, I came downstairs to discover that I had water all over the kitchen (which is directly below my one and only bathroom).

I remembered that my parents had recommended Paul to me and I called him immediately. He answered his phone (this was around 7:00AM), talked me through the scenario, and although he had a full schedule that day, he moved things around to make time for me.

He was quick, efficient and completely respectful of my old house (I have found in the past seven years that there are many service professionals who do not know how to treat an old house well.) Paul reset my toilet, which had become more and more wobbly over the last month, and billed me more than fairly.

Unfortunately, I woke up the next morning to another soaking wet kitchen. Although the toilet had desperately needed resetting, the real culprit of the wet kitchen was my SHOWER. A frantic text message to Paul elicited another quick response and before long he arrived, along with a second plumber whom he sometimes calls for 2-person jobs (who was also amazing and friendly), they determined the issue, fixed it very quickly and two days before Thanksgiving, I had a fully operational bathroom and no more wet kitchen.

There had been a small erosion in the shower's waste water pipe that was allowing the bath water to flow freely out of the back of the tub's plumbing (it's an antique pedestal tub with some of the hardware above-floor), across the floor to a small gap in the edge where it meets the molding, and straight down the wall into the kitchen and further into the basement.

Long story short (too late!), it's been a month and everything has worked perfectly. When my old house decides to have another issue, I will not hesitate to call Paul immediately. He is honest and fair. He tells you exactly what he thinks instead of wasting your time telling you what you may want to hear (refreshing!) I found his billing to be affordable and more than fair. He's speedy with a diagnosis and gets right down to business--no time wasted. And on top of all that, he's a super-decent guy, SMART, he TEXTS (which is awesome!), fun to talk to and, I have to say, honorable--a quality that is hard to come by these days.

I trust Paul and would recommend him completely (and I have!)

Paul came to my house for an issue with my toilet. After helping diagnose a myriad of issues we had, we came to find out the cause was my kids flushed a hand towel (a fix I could make myself). Paul laughed it off and said, after spending an hour with me, "just do me a favor and tell your friends about me." I gave him $50. Would use him (and recommend him) again in a heartbeat.

Paul is quick and very knowledgable. Most importantly he uses serviceable gaskets and parts that don't cause problems in the future. Very quick and reasonably priced. I will definitely use him next time I need plumbing work in my home!

I had a kitchen sink leaking into the basement and outside along the foundation. My house was built in 1940 and the pipe in question was inside the wall. I blindly searched for plumbers in the area dreading the experience as related to unknown cost etc. Upon reading reviews and taking to friends I decided to try Athenacare. Paul was frank and to the point with an over the phone assessment. He fit me into his schedule, showed up exactly on-time, and proceeded to tear into the issue. After a few hours of work, the offending pipe was replaced, and the issue fixed for good. Paul was consistently conscious of cost, kept me informed of every step, and completed the job expeditiously. The end result was a kitchen drain pipe replacement including the "T" on the ventilation stack and a drain that has never functioned so well since I bought the place 7 years ago. Paul set expectations, then beat them, for a concise delivery of Customer Satisfaction at a very reasonable price!

We have hired Paul twice, and he has done wonderful work both times. Most recently we hired him when a gas leak was discovered in our home. Despite getting so much snow that schools were closed as were many businesses, Paul came and fixed the leak ASAP. He did a great job and was very reasonable, especially for the emergency job.

Paul is great to work with and is very accommodating with schedules. I had two back to back issues and he made it a priority to get both resolved efficiently and very fairly priced. Would definitely recommend Paul for any plumbing issue!

I contacted Paul for several plumbing issues. The first being a leak in the shower. Before proceeding with anything he advised me to follow his tips to diagnose the problem. Turned out to be a gap in the caulking which did not require a plumber. $$$ saved and problem solved, who wouldn't appreciate that?
I did need to have a drain pop up replaced - no I did not know what it was called, but sent Paul a picture and he explained it. Paul did a great job replacing it. He even noticed a minor toilet problem and took care of it as well. All was done within the estimate given.
I would highly recommend Paul. Take his advice, he definitely knows what he is doing and will help to solve your problem in the most effective way.

Like most people I looked at the star reviews and comments and hired this plumber expecting quality service. Unfortunately this was one of my worst experiences of contracted work ever. The project involved replacing a leaky valve where the main city line enters my basement. He quoted me roughly $240 to replace the valve and fix the problem. He warned that replacing the valve could lead to more issues and more cost if things did not go as expected. I said I understood, but wanted the problem fixed and authorized him to go ahead anyway.

A few minutes later, he handed me a bill for roughly $220 and explained to me in very condescending terms that wrapping the valve with tape and hoping for the best was the solution. This obviously did not fix the problem and within a day, it continued to drip. I would have gladly paid more to have the problem actually fixed. It seemed Paul was only interested in a quick transaction rather than putting in the labor to do it right. Not only that, but his demeanor and attitude were terrible. He literally came to my front door and said 'where's the problem'. No good afternoon sir, no hello nice to meet you, nothing. He was curt and rude for the entire hour he was at my home. While I disagreed with his solution and charges, in the end, I just wanted him out of my house. This was my honest experience.

Paul rearranged his schedule to answer my request for help in an emergency. Same day. He performed the job handily and even better, neatly. He's straightforward, lays out a plan with expected costs and gets to work right away. He's an amiable plumber on a white horse in my estimation. I think the cost was reasonable, considering the problem he had to fix (old house, old pipes).

My husband and I were amazed with Paul's integrity and helpfulness. Our job was pretty unique as a leaking pipe under the basement floor and there was no way to know beforehand how involved the repair would be. As it happened a long run of pipe had to be replaced not just a small area as we had hoped. He went out of his way multiple times (I've figured out saving us at least $2000) by showing us how to do some of the work ourselves. I am hard pressed to imagine any other time when a business would go as far as Paul by passing up what could have been that money in his pocket. Needless to say, we couldn't be happier that we put our trust in him.

Repeat customer. Paul recently came out to replace a section of cast iron plumbing that had rotted out behind a wall. He was fantastic at being fully transparent about scope and cost and made every effort to complete the job efficiently. He is a tradesman who takes pride in his craft and does excellent work. I recommend without hesitation.

Paul helped me troubleshoot my water leakage issue over the phone before deeming it necessary to come to my house that would have resulted in a home visit charge. I was able to determine the source of the issue and find a solution on the Athena Care website with Paul's help and no home visit charge! Paul is the man!
