After a so so job with another outfit, I called Tim Kunkel Electric. Jack came out. It was the right call. I will only call Kunkel from now on.

Really pleased with Kunkel's service. Not only did they beat the competing bids from other companies by hundreds of dollars, but they gave me the (free) estimate for the project within a couple hours via pictures of it that I sent them from my phone. Couldn't get any easier than that.

I called the day after Christmas, on a weekend, with a question about our electricity, and I was treated to a helpful, informative, thorough conversation that helped me understand what could be going on in my home. I was offered advice and never felt that I was imposing or in any way unwelcome in my questions and concern. I can't say enough about how helpful this was and how grateful I am. Highly recommend!

Called Tim on a Saturday and after coming out to our house to look at something we thought was a breaker issue, it turned out to be an issue with the wires coming into the house. This problem was resolved by Xcel energy, but Time was prompt, ethical and very pleasant to work with. We will be calling Tim for all of our electrical needs in the future.

Tim came to the house and determined that the thing I was worried about was not a problem. He was very honest and didn't try to up-sell me. Previous electricians had come and quoted high cost "make work" solutions to fix my "problem".

I'm in awe of their service! I called late morning and they were able to see me that afternoon. They were able to get the service in done in a very timely manner and the quality of work was great! They also charged me less than what was initially quoted, so that's always a win. I'm not fond of writing reviews but this one is well deserved and I would recommend them to everyone!

I had Tim and his crew do a full overhaul of the electrical system inside my condo and the experience from start to finish was a positive one.
During the initial bid Tim treated me kindly, respectfully and didn't talk down to me (even when I clearly showed my ignorance of electrical systems). He used an engaging, helpful tone to talk me through the job, understand my requests, and explain it's electrical requirements. It can be frustrating, confusing and expensive to hire electricians (or other well qualified professionals). I was aware my job would not be cheap ( it included a new panel/circuit set-up, several new outlets, a dryer hookup, LED lighting and switches). Tim gave me a complete bid, as well as breaking out individual components in case my budget prevented me from completing the entire project at one time. He was helpful in explaining which segments of the job were tied into other parts.
Tim and his team completed the work over a number of days, and while there were a couple minor delays in email communication, Tim remained available to me via text (and calls) promptly & regularly. The project was completed in the timeframe we agreed on and I would definitely use/recommend Tim for any future electrical work!

We had an outlet burn out in our kitchen and Tim's employee Jack was able to come in a few days and replace it and disconnect some wiring that we weren't using that wasn't orthodox. Jack also answered my usual peppering of questions with professional courtesy. I recommend them to all my friends that need electrical work. These guys are the best.

Tim and his team are beyond professional. These guys are punctual, organized, knowledgeable and considerate. My wife and I were working out of the house all while their crew worked on our kitchen electrical, a few random electrical needs to our second floor, and upgrading our panel. Throughout that time they would ask what our schedules were with video calls/meetings and always ask when they needed to do something loud and disruptive. They always came the day and exact time they specified for the work and when they needed to push times they communicated it effectively. Our kitchen electrical/lighting is a dream and the upgrade from our old 20 breaker panel to the 42 panel we have now is game changing. We'll be hiring these guys again for any future electrical work.

Tim picked up in 2 rings, diagnosed the issue, and suggested I check one thing before making an expensive service call. His advice led me to resolving the issue myself. It lost him a service call and gained me a ton of respect for his business practices.

Our landlord hired Tim, and associates, to take the old fuse box out and switch it to circuit breakers. BEST LANDLORD! Tim scheduled the job within days of the original phone call. They promptly arrived, and started working, right away. Upon completion, Tim scheduled an inspection with Xcel for the next morning. Passed the inspection with flying colors! The inspector said that Tim had done a FABULOUS job. We agree! Tim, and associates, were extremely courteous in explaining anything that we had questions about. They didn't assume that we should know everything. We're senior citizens, and they were very cool with us. We would rehire Tim Kunkel, if electrical work is needed, in the future. We hired Tim Kunkel Electric to upgrade our 100 amp fused panel to a 200 amp breaker panel. I'm very Happy with the work that they did. The install looks great and the installers were very professional. And the price is great.

Extremely disappointed with Tim Kunkel Electric. My husband and I bought a house and are planning for a complete rewire and asked Tim to give us a quote and scheduled a time. Two hours before the appointment time, Tim called saying he needed to reschedule our appointment, so I gave him the benefit of the doubt and rescheduled for the next day. When Tim came for the quote he was arrogantly rude during the entire 25 minutes he was at our home. He took a call in the middle of our conversation without apologizing or dismissing himself, checked his phone, and barely looked at the house electrical condition. He then told us he would have to cut holes and damage a ton of walls and argued with us when we questioned him. He then told us we couldn't afford it, without knowing anything about our financial position, and left. I am shocked that the owner of a business would behave in such a way. While I cannot vouch for the quality of his work, I know I will never use Tim Kunkel Electric simply for his rude and unprofessional behavior.

Tim Kunkel Electric was an incredible company to work with! Tim answered many of my questions and offered advice as we prepared to sell our home. He then scheduled an appointment for the same day as my call so that we wouldn’t be without electricity in our bedrooms! I was amazed by the prompt and helpful service. When the electrician came he was so friendly and worked with care to get the job done well. We recommend Tim Kunkel Electric to anyone for your electrical needs!! We love a company that cares about the community. Tim Kunkel Electric really cares about giving back, as well!

We've had Tim and his team at our house for two separate projects and both times have been superb. They're efficient, friendly, professional, and their rates are the most competitive in the Twin Cities. I'll never use another electrician. Bonus: When we needed other services (plumbing, gutters, etc.), the contractors Tim recommended were equally fantastic. There is nobody better!
